This is a store selling famous sweets from Chikushi located on the 1st floor of JR Kagoshima Main Line Minami-Fukuoka Station. According to their official website, this is a directly operated store. The store is called "Josuian" and their name is often heard of and seen in advertisements. Although I had never bought anything from them before, I became curious when passing by on my way back from "Bikkuri Tei Honke" and decided to stop by and make a purchase. I chose the "Tomato Daifuku" (216 yen) and the "Chikushi Mochi" (3 pieces for 360 yen). The "Tomato Daifuku" was a first for me and I was unsure about the taste, but it turned out to be delicious with a whole cherry tomato inside the mochi skin, combining the juicy tomato flavor with the gentle sweetness of the white bean paste. The "Chikushi Mochi" reminded me of Yamanashi's famous Kikyo Shingen Mochi in appearance, but I personally preferred the taste and ease of eating of this one. With a history of being offered as gifts to shrines and temples, the store staff's service was excellent, and the sweets were much tastier than I had imagined. I would love to try out other items from this store when I have the chance to visit Hakata again on my next trip.
