<<Travel Journal @Hokkaido>>When in Hokkaido, I wanted to try soup curry, so I came to this place. I read reviews about long lines, so I arrived a little before 11:00 for the 11:30 opening. Already, there were about 15-20 people lined up, even though it was raining. Truly a popular spot. They opened right at 11:30 and we were seated in order. It seemed like they were spacing out the seating, as there were empty seats in the first round. Luckily, we just made it for the first round. Soft bone-in chicken - 1,080 yenCheese topping - 200 yenRice small (150g), curry spiciness level 2After ordering, it took another 45 minutes for the food to arrive. I recommend arriving with some extra time to spare. First, I took a sip of the soup. It was incredibly delicious. I couldn't stop drinking the soup. The chicken was really tender. Just a light press with the spoon, and the meat slid off the bone effortlessly. The vegetables were sweet and tasty. It was a flavor worth waiting for, even if it meant a long wait.

I finally visited this restaurant that I had been wanting to go to after seeing it on a gourmet show! I arrived around 11:00 on a holiday. I had checked the information beforehand and knew that there would be a long line, so I got there 30 minutes before opening. There were already about 10 people waiting. Please note that there is only parking in front of the store, which can accommodate less than 10 cars. As 11:30 approached, the line kept growing. Thankfully, we were able to enter on the first round! Orders are taken in the order of entry. It takes quite a bit of time from ordering to serving, so be patient. There are lots of manga books in the store. This time, I went with a friend and ordered soup curry and roux curry. You can choose the spiciness level and rice amount. The dishes arrived at 12:15. First, the soup curry. A large bowl filled with chicken and plenty of locally grown vegetables. You can't see it in the picture, but there are two pieces each of pumpkin and potatoes buried in it. The spiciness level was 3. The soup is quite watery, as expected of soup curry. The broth and spices are not overpowering, making it a delicious soup. The chicken is tender and easily falls apart with a spoon. And my personal highlight was the vegetables! The vegetables were incredibly delicious!! Fresh, tasty, and with a good texture, I was amazed by how good they were. It's also nice that there are plenty of different vegetables in it. As for the roux curry, when you eat it after the soup curry, it's surprising. It has a rich, thick, and heavy roux, giving it a satisfying bite. They are quite different, so you need to consider which one you want to eat.

I arrived at the restaurant at 12:30 on a regular day and there were 16 groups waiting, with the parking lot quite full. Luckily, I found a spot just in time. After waiting for about an hour, we were finally seated. I ordered bone-in chicken and Hokkaido vegetable soup curry with a spice level of 7. My companion ordered the Tori Bomb soup curry with a spice level of 2. I added a little chicken frank topping and also had a cafe latte. If you like spicy food, even a spice level of 10 should be manageable. The soup was so delicious that I wanted to drink it all even without the rice. The curry had plenty of vegetables, but since the chicken soup curry already had vegetables in it, it ended up being double the amount, making it quite a hearty meal. I wish there were broccoli in it, but I forgot to add it as a topping. The bone-in chicken was tender and incredibly tasty. The wait time was long, so it's not ideal if you're short on time, but the food was delicious.

This dish allows you to fully enjoy the flavors of Hokkaido's meat and vegetables! The vegetables are all well seasoned, with sweet pumpkin, fluffy potatoes, and the bitterness of green peppers perfectly complementing the curry. The chicken is incredibly tender and despite being quite filling, I managed to finish the plate in no time.

At Furano-ya, a very popular restaurant, I was the 10th in line! The estimated wait time is 30 minutes for every 5 groups, so it's a confirmed 1-hour wait! I had already eaten a curry bun, so I managed to finish my meal somehow during the waiting time when my stomach was feeling uncomfortable! I had the tender bone-in chicken soup curry (1480 yen) with a spice level of 2, 300g of rice, and an iced coffee. For dinner, call 0167-23-6969 at 1-46 Yayoi-cho, Furano City, Hokkaido.

This month's sixth and final food adventure was at "Curry no Furanoya", where I had the "Hokkaido Vegetable" curry with tonkatsu topping for a very late lunch. This place is famous for its soup curry, offering 8 varieties including limited editions, as well as 7 types of roux curry. I prefer roux curry, so I chose the Hokkaido Vegetable topping and added tonkatsu. The spiciness levels range from 0 to 10 (free), with options for extra spicy levels at a cost. The rice portion was 200g, with options for 150g, 300g (free), or additional 450g at a cost. The curry arrived first, made with 7 types of vegetables including the rare addition of "wood ear mushrooms". Shortly after, the freshly fried tonkatsu arrived on a separate plate. The roux was thick and rich, packed with flavors from Hokkaido pork bones, chicken bones, and local vegetables. The spiciness level 9 was quite hot, making me sweat continuously. The rice was turmeric rice, and with the generous amount of roux, 300g was more than enough. The tonkatsu was a bit small but thick, providing a satisfying crunch. This meal was a perfect way to beat the heat during an aimless drive, and even though it was past 3 pm on a weekday, there was still a line of 3 groups, around 10 people waiting outside the popular restaurant.

I arrived around 11:40 on Monday and found people already waiting in line for the restaurant to open. I was the 14th group in line, so I decided to explore the neighborhood while waiting. It took longer than expected, and I finally entered the restaurant around 13:20, starting to eat around 13:50. I chose level 5 spiciness, but it wasn't as spicy as I thought, and I enjoyed the meal. The chicken was tender. It's a popular restaurant, and the long wait times around lunchtime and limited parking are the only downsides, but it's definitely worth a visit.

I visited during the evening of a three-day weekend. After waiting for 45 minutes for a parking spot, I was seated. I had the vegetable and chicken bone soup curry. It was incredibly delicious. If I have the chance to come to Furano again, I will definitely visit. Additionally, on my way back at New Chitose Airport, I found Furano's retort curry being sold and couldn't resist buying it to take home.

The lavender tourism season has ended, and I felt like eating curry. I was debating between going to Yui Gokuson or Furano-ya, but since I was in the mood for soup curry today, I decided to go to Furano-ya. The restaurant opens at 11:30, so I thought I could go a little early, but when I casually passed by the front of the restaurant, there was already a line of about 20 people... Oh no... I hurried to join the line, thinking that it was not the time for shopping. The restaurant has a total of 40 seats, so it seemed uncertain if I could get in on the first round. After waiting for about 40 minutes, the opening time finally arrived. People started entering the restaurant one after another, but it was already full when it was my turn. In the end, I had to wait inside the restaurant. After waiting for about 50 minutes, I was finally seated. However, even though it had been an hour since the opening, I noticed that some customers from the first round had not been served their food yet... Why?? What was the point of the first round? This slowness is quite rare to see these days. We should be prepared for this delay. While waiting inside the restaurant, I carefully looked at the menu, so when I was seated, I ordered the Soft Bone-in Chicken & Hokkaido Vegetables (Medium Spicy) + Broccoli and Hokkaido Vegetables (Medium Spicy) + Chicken Frank + Shrimp Fry. I was prepared to wait, but surprisingly, the food was brought to us in about 10 minutes after ordering. It seems that they got overwhelmed with orders during the first round, causing the delay. The presentation of the vegetables was so beautiful that you could feel the attention to detail. Carrots, bell peppers, eggplant, potatoes, pumpkin, snow peas. The broccoli I added as a topping was also included, so while the variety is not that many, the amount of vegetables is plentiful. The rich coconut-scented curry was incredibly creamy and delicious. The spiciness was also just right. I really liked it. The tenderness of the chicken is a common feature in soup curry, but even the bones felt soft through the spoon, indicating that it had been simmered for a long time. After finishing the meal, I realized that it was worth waiting for an hour for this delicious soup curry. I would like to come back here again if I don't have to wait in line for so long.

I used it for lunch on Friday. It's a popular restaurant that often appears in the media, so there is always a line. I arrived at 11:00 for the 11:30 opening and was second in line. If you come at 11:30, you will probably have to wait at least 30 minutes even on weekdays, so please be careful. This time, I had the limited quantity pork braised dish with an additional sausage, making it a slightly luxurious meal. The curry had depth, the vegetables were delicious, and the braised pork was tender and flavorful. It was amazing! If you go to Furano, this is a must-visit famous restaurant!

The line was long, but the food was amazing. The restaurant was spacious and the staff were polite. The soup was outstanding, I definitely want to eat it again. The pork shabu-shabu was fresh and delicious. Adding the huge asparagus was a great choice. If they can make the soup a bit more, I would love that.

The restaurant opened at 11:30, but there was already a line at 11:00. It's a very popular place even on weekdays. I waited in line and managed to get a seat around 6th. I ordered a Hokkaido vegetable soup curry with extra soup and normal rice. I also added asparagus and shiitake mushrooms as toppings. I also ordered an iced café au lait. The vegetable curry was delicious with fresh vegetables like eggplant, shiitake mushrooms, snow peas, tomatoes, and pumpkin. The soup was especially tasty with a hint of sweetness from the pumpkin. The curry was labeled as level 5 spicy, but it was actually quite mild. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

I visited during lunchtime on a holiday. Expecting crowds based on reviews, I arrived 30 minutes before opening! However, there were already 2 cars parked in front of me, and more cars arrived one after another, filling up the parking lot in about 10 minutes. My expectations grew. I ordered the tender bone-in chicken & Hokkaido vegetables (spiciness level 3) with a topping of original chicken frank, extra large rice, and soup curry. When I took a bite of the cabbage, it was sweet! Then, the spice kicked in. The combination of the sweetness of the vegetables and the kick of the spice was delicious. All the Hokkaido vegetables were sweet, and the flavors of the ingredients stood out, making me admire Hokkaido once again. The bone-in chicken was indeed tender as described on the menu, easily falling off the bone. The meat was flavorful, soaked in spices, making the rice disappear quickly. The chicken frank was also juicy and delicious. It was a soup curry where you could fully taste the blessings of Hokkaido's land! I would love to visit again when I come to Hokkaido! Thank you for the meal!

I arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes before it opened, but there were already about 10 people in line. It took about 45 minutes from entering the restaurant until the curry was served. However, the curry was amazing. The first bite was spicier than I expected, but I gradually got used to it and was able to savor the deliciousness of the curry. The vegetables were tasty, and the chicken was tender. It was really delicious.

During the long weekend, arrived at the opening time and waited for 2 hours. After ordering, waited for almost 30 minutes. I had the bone-in tender chicken spicy soup curry with asparagus topping. My friend had the local vegetable soup curry. The broth was rich and flavorful, making you want to drink it all up. The chicken was tender and juicy. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. Maybe waiting is unavoidable?

This is Furano. It's my first time visiting during the season of spring or rather, the melting snow season. It's not the summer lavender fields or the winter snowscapes, but a slightly more everyday Furano. It feels like there are fewer tourists and the town is just starting to come alive. This time, I visited a curry restaurant called "Furano-ya" located in the basement of the Furano City Hall. They serve Hokkaido's famous soup curry as well as regular curry rice. The restaurant has a white Western-style building and when you enter, you'll see shelves filled with manga books that go well with curry. I ordered the soft bone-in chicken soup curry. While chicken is the main ingredient, there were plenty of vegetables too. It felt more like a vegetable curry! The soup was the traditional soup curry that is not easily found in Osaka. It's different from spiced curry and hard to describe in words. The chicken was tender, and the soup curry had a rich spice flavor. I would like to try their hot soup curry during the cold winter next time.

It's been a while. After mountain climbing, I took a bath at Ryounkaku and added some spice to my tired body. It's 3 o'clock. Around 3 o'clock is the best time to go. It gets really crowded during lunchtime. It's definitely a popular restaurant. Today I had vegetable soup curry, level 7, with broccoli topping. The service is quick from ordering to serving. As soon as the dish arrived, a nostalgic smell filled the air - I love this indescribable aroma. And I quickly tried the soup... It's deliciously creamy with a gentle sweetness within the spiciness. Level 7 spiciness is totally fine. It's really, really delicious. Why is it so delicious... this soup curry. When it comes to Furano, it's all about curry, so I want to try the roux curry too, but I always end up choosing the soup curry ^_^ Thank you for the meal♪

Limited quantity of Tokachi-produced pork stew at Curry Furano-ya! I went to Curry Furano-ya multiple times until I could finally have the pork stew. Even if the pork stew was sold out, I love all the menu items so it's okay. On the 8th, my husband and I coincidentally had a day off work, so we went to Curry Furano-ya! We lined up together! We were nervous to see if the pork stew curry was sold out... but this time!! We were able to eat it!! I am so grateful and thrilled!! The pork stew melts in your mouth!! It was incredibly delicious with the spiciness level set at 40. I am so happy!! Everything is delicious!! Being able to get along well with my husband is also thanks to Curry Furano-ya!

When I visited Furano for skiing, I decided to have dinner here. It was off-season, so I didn't have to wait and was seated promptly. I ordered the tender bone-in chicken and Hokkaido vegetable soup with medium spiciness. The curry wasn't as spicy as I expected, but it was just right for my post-skiing empty stomach. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at the restaurant in Furano around 5:00 pm for dinner. I heard that it's a popular place and tends to get crowded, so I came early, which turned out to be a good decision. The menu is about 20% cheaper than in Tokyo, I think. After much deliberation, I decided to go for the Frankfurter sausage curry. I chose a spice level of 5, and opted for regular rice (200g). It was served in about 10 minutes. I was surprised by the size of the sausage! I couldn't believe it was only 1,280 yen. The curry had plenty of vegetables, and the spice level was just right for someone who enjoys spicy food like me. It had a subtle spiciness that made me sweat a little afterwards. The curry had a mild richness like milk, with hints of hidden flavors. The giant sausage had a slightly grainy aroma, and when I took a bite, the juices from the meat dripped generously. Eating the sausage alone filled me up quite a bit. If you only want to eat one sausage, adding a topping for 300 yen is a good idea. Doubling the vegetables with the sausage could also be a good combination. I recommend this place for those looking to eat soup curry in Furano.

On November 4th, I visited a soup curry restaurant in Furano. I drove for hours from Sapporo in bad weather just to try their famous soup curry, and it was worth it. The curry had a rich flavor and paired perfectly with the rice. The staff were also very friendly. I'm glad I took the time to go there.
