I will honestly review the truth of the food. We went to "Tempura Shunsaizakaya Tadan" which opened on April 1, 2022, to check it out with 3 people. We entered at 5:29 PM, but the table setting with chopsticks and plates was not done. The first drink, a draft beer (380 yen), took quite a while to come out, possibly due to just tapping the barrel. The timing of serving the first drink is very important. I was quite frustrated, thinking, "What are you doing?" The menu does not have prices listed, which is quite scary. "Market price" can be intimidating. They could easily write in the prices if they wanted to. There is also a grand menu with prices listed. The appetizer, "Chilled Winter Melon Stew," came out at 5:40 PM, and finally, we were asked for our food order. After the beer, I ordered a highball (380 yen). By 6:06 PM, the first dish I ordered, "Conger Eel Soup" (market price), arrived. It's what they call "conger eel broth." I had it with plum and vinegar miso. The second dish I ordered, "Grilled Sweetfish with Salt" (market price), came at 6:30 PM. Market price is basically a made-up price. It's not exactly a set price because they didn't mention it. It had been 1 hour since we entered, and the food was coming out very slowly. The owner saw off the previous customers outside and chatted while we still hadn't received our tempura. The tempura finally arrived at 6:52 PM. It had been 1 hour and 23 minutes since we entered. When I asked for a wet towel, they had forgotten to bring it. The owner even stepped on my foot while bringing the tempura. We ordered "Shrimp" (280 yen), "Sand Borer" (280 yen), "Conger Eel" (280 yen), and "Lotus Root with Cod Roe Tempura" (320 yen) from the grand menu. We also ordered "White Asparagus" (market price), but it was not available, and when I asked, the owner said, "We ran out." I told them to inform us at the time of ordering. Unfortunately, it seems that they do not understand what customer service means! Have they always operated like this? Or have they been able to get by like this? We asked for the bill early, but they took a long time to calculate it on the calculator and there was no way to verify if the market prices were correct. It was truly unclear accounting. How can they have such an analog system in this day and age? We ended up paying almost 5,000 yen per person, even though we didn't eat or drink much. It was more expensive than we expected. There was no risk management or crisis management. It was a series of surprises, leaving us dumbfounded and appalled. It felt like stepping on a landmine after a long time.
