On this day, I casually visited "Yakitori Torihoshi Hankyu Umeda Main Store."
◇Exterior and Interior
This yakitori restaurant is located on the B1 floor of the well-established department store Hankyu Umeda Main Store in Kita-ku, Osaka. While I'm not sure if it originated in Osaka or not, I was drawn in by the attractive display.
◇Seating
Takeout only.
◇Menu Composition
They offer about 15 types of yakitori. The items I ordered are as follows:
- Sasami Wasabi-na Maki Skewer (281 yen) → Tax-inclusive price per skewer.
Since I was in the mood for some drinks tonight, yakitori was a must. I purchased a total of 6 skewers, but this one was the most delicious. It's a skewer where shiso leaves are wrapped in chicken breast, with salt sauce drizzled on top. It may seem like an unusual combination, but it's definitely delicious. You can also sprinkle some wasabi or salt for a different taste!
◆Strong Points
They specialize in chicken, but not only do they offer standard yakitori, but also unique and delicious variations!
◆Customer Service
Average.
◆Conclusion
The prices are on the higher side compared to other department store food halls, but the packaging is sturdy and they provide 4 types of condiments for free, which I personally find reasonable. Alright, onto the next one! Thank you for the meal! ^ ^

Today is another day under a state of emergency, so I can't dine out or have alcohol, which is why I'll just buy food to take home. As always, I'll be getting a bento from Toriyoshi. No matter when I eat it, it's always delicious and reasonably priced. And although it's from a different place, I'll also be getting some roast beef to take home. Thank you for the meal.

I'm thinking of buying dinner on my way home. In May, I feel particularly tired and have no energy to cook. In times like this, the department store basement is a lifesaver. It's like paradise here! Everything is available, and whenever I go to Umeda, I always end up at some department store basement. Today, I'll go to Toriyoshi! I've bought their Christmas chicken a few times before, but this is my first time for regular use. There are delicious grilled chicken skewers lined up, and although it's tempting, I decided to buy a bento box. It's the "Plenty of Grilled Chicken Bento for Chicken Lovers" for 780 yen. It includes negima, tsukune, chicken skin, chicken breast, teriyaki chicken, shiitake mushrooms, shishito peppers, quail eggs, and at the end, seasoned ground chicken. It's super luxurious! It may not look like a lot because it's on top of rice, but it's really generous! There isn't much charcoal aroma, but there are some slightly crispy parts and a good mix of teriyaki and salt flavors. The seasoned ground chicken was quite strong, so it might have been better if it was lighter. Bento boxes in the department store basement tend to be a bit pricey, but this one is reasonable in the 700 yen range. It could also be a great item to enjoy with alcohol at home. Thank you for the meal. Toriyoshi Hankyu Department Store Umeda Store 06-6361-1381 8-7 Kakuda-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka Hankyu Umeda Main Store B1F.

Hankyu Umeda Main Store B1F, Toriyoshi is a specialty yakitori restaurant. I bought a mini bento box before and it was delicious, so this time I purchased the charcoal-grilled yakitori bento box for 680 yen. It has a bit more volume than the mini one. It includes grilled chicken thighs, breasts, meatballs, as well as seasoned egg and vegetables, providing a satisfying and delicious meal.

Hankyu Department Store basement 1st floor, "Torihoshi" in the deli section. Bought for dinner due to a hard day at work. Not cutting corners, just saving time! Chicken thighs, bonjiri, seseri, tsukune. When heated in the microwave in the bag, it has a delicious charcoal-grilled aroma. Plating it on a Rilakkuma long plate looks nice. The bonjiri was especially delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store today to buy a bento box. After purchasing the bento, I wandered around and was lured by the delicious smell of yakitori. I couldn't resist and ended up getting chicken skin, tsukune, chicken neck, asparagus wrapped in chicken, and chicken meat skewers. I also enjoyed a refreshing beer with the meal. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I happened to find a special deal at Hankyu Umeda where once a month you can get a variety of items for only 999 yen! I tried the fried chicken and dumplings set, and it was delicious. I also tried the yakitori set with 8 skewers for 1188 yen, and it was really good. The tsukune skewers were particularly tasty. I will definitely try more items from this place in the future!

On this day, I planned to stop by Hankyu for some side dishes on my way home, but ended up going to Toriyoshi again! I couldn't resist the aroma of charcoal-grilled yakitori. I bought some and took it home. It was indeed delicious, with that savory charcoal flavor. Thank you for the feast.

Whenever I want to enjoy duck cuisine, I always visit this restaurant. They mainly serve duck hot pot, which is absolutely delicious! Today, I bought duck breast, thigh, and meatballs for a duck hot pot party. They also sell portable duck skewers, which I would love to try as well, but I usually just come here to buy duck meat for hot pot. There are various other products available, like a yakitori set, which I would like to try someday. But for now, let's focus on the hot pot party. It's still Golden Week, so it's perfect for hot pot! The duck breast is so tender and flavorful, it's amazing. The meatballs are also bite-sized and delicious. I also stir-fried the leftover breast with leeks. Duck hot pot is truly the best. The broth is also tasty, and we finished the meal with udon. If you want to enjoy duck hot pot or duck cuisine, I highly recommend visiting Toriyoshi!

In Osaka, specifically in Kita, there is a shop located in the Hankyu department store's food basement in Umeda. I suddenly had a craving for fried chicken, so I decided to do a taste comparison of fried chicken from different shops. The first shop I chose was this one. This shop offers variations of fried chicken such as cheese-filled, with garlic, and without garlic. I decided to go with the garlic version, which seemed like the most traditional choice. When I tried the garlic fried chicken at home, I noticed a strong garlic aroma on the train, but when I actually tasted it, the garlic flavor was not overpowering. It was light and easy to eat, but I didn't find it particularly delicious. The chicken itself was not to my liking, and the pieces were slightly large with a chewy skin. In terms of cost-performance, the fried chicken from this shop, as well as two others I bought from the Hankyu department store in Umeda, were priced at over 400 yen for 100g, which was similar to the price of the fried chicken from Kakiyasu at Namba Takashimaya. Overall, I found the fried chicken from this shop to be overpriced and average in taste. I would not buy the regular fried chicken again, but I might be interested in trying the cheese-filled version.

I was in Osaka Hankyu on this day and decided to walk around Hankyu on my way back. I had a bit too much to drink the night before, so I thought I would buy something on my way back today. I found this place because it smelled really good and stopped by. I ended up buying a yakitori bento. It was quite crowded and took some time. I heated it up a bit when I got home. The charcoal aroma was amazing, there were plenty of vegetables, the rice had just the right amount of sauce, and even though it was 680 yen, I thought it was totally different from convenience store food. I enjoyed it while thinking this is really good. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I definitely want to buy it again.

Our 1 year and 3 month old grandson, who has finished weaning, absolutely loves chicken karaage. It's amazing how quickly he has grown, from eating mainly bananas to now enjoying adult food like yakitori. Thinking of him, I went shopping and bought the following items:
- Satsuma Herb Yuzen Chicken Thigh Karaage: $3.24 (100g) - Bite-sized karaage with garlic, made with chicken fed with herbs to reduce the typical chicken smell. I bought 3 pieces.
- Garlic Ginger Karaage: $3.24 - This one has ginger in it and is more suitable for adults. I bought 7 pieces.
Both are made with chicken thigh meat, but the ginger one has a harder coating, similar to Tatsuta-age. The meat is juicy and bouncy. They go really well with beer!
I cut the Satsuma Herb Yuzen Chicken Thigh Karaage into small pieces for my grandson, and he happily ate them. He has definitely become quite a gourmet at just 1 year old. He also enjoyed the karaage with some hard crusty bread. Good food is loved by everyone, regardless of age or gender. Seeing my grandson's satisfied smile made me very happy.
He has since returned to his family with his mother, and I miss him dearly. Farewell, and thank you for the delicious meal.

A shop that offers chicken dishes using the brand name of a famous chicken specialty store. They serve yakitori and other chicken dishes at affordable prices. I passed by the famous shop in the food section of Hankyu Department Store and saw some delicious-looking tsukune skewers. It was late, so they were discounted. I saw this as a chance and quickly got in line. By the way, I don't quite understand the rules for lining up to buy department store products, so I wish there were clearer guidelines. I bought 4 chicken tsukune skewers. When I tried them, they had a satisfying texture. There were also small pieces of meat mixed in, providing a nice contrast in textures between the minced meat and the meat pieces. Despite being small, they had a good amount of bite to them. I will definitely go back to buy more.

I decided to buy lunch here at the Hankyu Department Store in Umeda, on the basement floor. They have a variety of yakitori skewers and bento boxes. I chose a yakitori and vegetable bento box. Now, let's dig in! Starting with the meat, the aroma of charcoal grilling is nice. There are various cuts of meat, so it doesn't get boring. The fact that it also comes with vegetables is a plus for me since I usually don't get enough of them. Overall, it was a satisfying meal! It's a bit more expensive than convenience store bentos, but the convenience and taste make it worth it.
