Seafood bowl is amazing and I found a restaurant on Tabelog that specializes in seafood and fish dishes. I really wanted to go for lunch. The place is in Higashi-machi, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Even if I have to pay for parking, I don't mind. Parking in Kurume is cheap, so I decided to go right away. When I set the navigation, it showed a distance of 23 kilometers one way. It's not too far. I arrived before the restaurant opened on a weekday. There were an elderly couple sitting on the chairs in front of the store waiting. I lined up as the third person in line. More customers started to gather. When the restaurant opened, customers rushed in. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter and ordered the seafood bowl for 1,100 yen including tax. You can choose between vinegar rice and white rice for the rice, so I asked for white rice. When the seafood bowl was brought to me, I was amazed. The rice was completely hidden. I checked the sashimi toppings: Spanish mackerel, sea bream, salmon, belly of flatfish, bonito, raw shrimp, and octopus. The Spanish mackerel and bonito were seared, so they were like tataki. A thick omelette was served on the side, with plenty of chopped seaweed and daikon sprouts on top. A separate container of rich sesame sauce was provided to drizzle over the sashimi. I dipped each piece of sashimi in wasabi and savored it. The freshness was incredible. The quality of the fish was great, especially the thick flatfish. The octopus legs looked delicious too, and they were indeed tasty. All the fish were cut thick, which was impressive. This restaurant is generous with its servings. I wonder where they source such fresh fish. It must be from the Kurume fish market. Kurume is quite nice. I couldn't stop eating because it was so delicious. The miso soup had seaweed and gluten as ingredients, which also tasted great. The only thing I didn't eat was the vegetable salad, but at this price, it's worth trying. Lately, I've been looking forward to having lunch at izakayas. There are hardly any bad restaurants in Kurume. The good service also left a good impression on me. The three young male and female staff members were energetic. I was curious about the other menu items, but I just had to try the seafood bowl for my lunch foodie adventure.
