Located on the 10th floor of Lucua Osaka, directly connected to JR Osaka Station. Upon entering the shop, we were seated at the counter. I had the Takao Teishoku, which consisted of 7 types of tempura, rice, and miso soup. As a bonus, we were also served mentaiko kombu and homemade pickles. The tempura was served fresh in three separate batches: pork, red fish, burdock, lotus root, shrimp, squid, and eggplant. We enjoyed dipping the tempura in grated daikon with tempura dipping sauce, as well as the salt, wasabi salt, red yuzu pepper, and green yuzu pepper available on the table. The crispy batter and the flavors of the ingredients were delightful, and the different condiments allowed for various flavor combinations. I look forward to pairing tempura with some drinks on my next visit. Thank you for the delicious meal.

After having lunch, we didn't eat much, but I ordered avocado tempura and my friend ordered the meat tempura set meal! The tempura is placed on a grill at the table in order, freshly fried and delicious. The hot and crispy tempura was very tasty. It was nice to have complimentary mentaiko konbu on the table.

When I went to Kyushu, I wanted to try this restaurant but couldn't, so I decided to try it for the first time at LUCUA Osaka. I arrived 10 minutes before the 11 am opening, but there was already a line at the 10th-floor restaurants in LUCUA. Luckily, I managed to get a counter seat on my first try. I ordered the regular Taka-Don set meal since it was my first time. You can choose from large, medium, or small rice, and I chose medium. First, rice, miso soup, vegetables, and cod roe were served. Then, freshly fried tempura was served one by one. All the tempura was delicious as they were freshly fried. Despite being a chain restaurant, the popularity was justified by the surprisingly delicious tempura. It was a bit confusing when the tempura kept coming out, but the staff let me know when it was the last one. Even the last shrimp and squid tempura were delicious. I was able to use Rakuten Pay linked with a limited-time Rakuten Super Point for payment, which was a great deal.

"Hakata Tempura Takao" on the 10th floor of LUCUA. It was 5:30 pm, and I came here with a colleague after watching a movie with just over an hour left. There were still seats available here. Even before getting the tickets, you can use Cine-Talk on the purchase screen! There are counter seats with baskets under the chairs for your belongings. ★ Takao set meal tax included 1400 yen ★ Iwashi Tempura Don tax included 1400 yen + extra large rice 50 yen. I ordered the set meal, so the tempura was served in small portions. My colleague ordered the bowl, so it was a huge portion. Amazing! It's freshly fried, so it's deliciously hot. Dip it in the sauce generously, and the rice goes well with it (^-^) The rice is cooked just right. Before the tempura, they served Matsumae pickled cod roe and pickled lotus root, and they said refills were okay. But it's a shame that extras like extra rice come at an additional cost. If you're interested in the restaurant, please save it from this post (^-^)"

I heard that this restaurant originated in Fukuoka, so I went before it opened. I ordered the Takao set meal and added squid. It cost 1580 yen. You can get a free extra serving of rice, but I'm on a diet so I stuck with the regular portion. It's a bit more expensive and the size is smaller compared to Tempura Hiraoka, but it's still much better than Makino. The squid was incredibly tender and delicious. On the way back, there was a line forming, but almost all the restaurants on the food floor of LUCUA had lines. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived around 11:30 am on a weekday and there was already a line. They said they could seat me right away at the counter. I chose the Takao set meal, which came with alcohol and no rice. They asked me how much rice I wanted. They placed freshly fried items like shrimp, squid, and horse mackerel on a grill, and brought them to the table. There were condiments like yuzu pepper, mentaiko pepper, and salt on the table. The food came out quickly, so if you chat and take your time, it might get cold. The seafood like shrimp, squid, and horse mackerel was delicious. The meat was pork tempura, which I found rare in Kansai. If you're looking for a hearty meal, you might find it a bit light.

I went to the restaurant at opening time because I heard it was popular. Besides the daikon radish with plenty of grated radish, there were various ways to eat it. Especially the mentaiko with cut kombu was delicious when eaten on top of rice, along with seafood and chicken breast tempura. It was not heavy at all and I enjoyed it until the end. It was so delicious that I ended up having a lot of extra servings.

I discovered a tempura restaurant with a casual atmosphere. The tempura set meal was simple yet satisfying, priced at 1400 yen for dinner. The ingredients were all of high quality, with premium rice from Fukuoka, unlimited servings of kombu mentaiko, pickles, and black oolong tea. The tempura was served in small portions to ensure it was always freshly fried. Even the side dish of miso soup was delicious. I would definitely line up to eat here again!

Takao Ten Teishoku (set meal) for 1400 yen, Niku Ten Teishoku for 1400 yen. I didn't take a photo to enjoy it freshly made. The tempura is pretty standard so I won't talk about it, but I had a unique experience where broccoli was included in the vegetable tempura! It was either blanched beforehand or cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, delicious with just a sprinkle of salt that made me crave beer. The meat in the Niku Teishoku consists of thick slices of pork loin, similar to what you would find in ginger pork, and chicken breast. Personally, I recommend the Takao Ten Teishoku! Unlike a certain chain restaurant, they provide various salts for seasoning, which is a nice touch.

Today, I ended up idling away my lunch break time until after 2 pm. Most regular restaurants would have already finished their lunch hours by then. In times like this, I often head to the restaurant area above Osaka Station, at the top of Lucua Osaka. Here, you can find a variety of restaurants serving Japanese, Western, Chinese, kushikatsu, and even French cuisine, where you can pretty much get anything you want if you're willing to pay. While the prices may be a bit on the higher side, it's a convenient dining area. Today, I was in the mood for Thai food, but I was intrigued by the tempura I saw, so I decided to visit "Hakata Tempura Takao Lucua Osaka Store." I ordered the most reasonable set, the "Takao Teishoku," which comes with a total of 7 types of tempura, including the classic shrimp and the rare pork. The side dishes included pickles and a kombu seaweed salad with spicy cod roe, which was surprisingly delicious and could make you eat multiple bowls of rice with just that. The tempura itself had a light and crispy texture, with a good balance of hot and crunchy. The dipping sauce or salt complemented the tempura well, with a light taste that didn't feel too oily. The tempura was so tasty that I wanted to eat more after finishing the 7 pieces. Overall, it's a delicious tempura restaurant.

Hakata has many reasonably priced tempura set meal restaurants, and this is one of the popular ones. It is located on the restaurant floor above the LUCUA building. I visited for dinner on a weekday evening. It was quite crowded, with many young people pulling suitcases, possibly due to the resumption of travel discounts. There were many restaurants with lines, and I waited about 15 minutes to get a seat at this restaurant. They have both counter and table seating. I ordered the Takao set meal and a side of cod milt (tarako). As is common in Hakata tempura restaurants, there were pickles and spicy cod roe available on the table. You can have as much rice as you want... but refills and extra rice are charged separately. The tempura was served in small portions, with two or three pieces at a time. The first round included pork and white fish, and I forgot what the third item was. Then came the cod milt tempura, which was quite large. It was delicious, but then there was a long wait before more tempura arrived... and my rice got cold. It was a bit frustrating trying to decide whether to eat the pickles and cod roe while waiting for more tempura. Eventually, shrimp, squid, and eggplant tempura arrived, and that was the end. I felt a bit tired from waiting. Although the restaurant was busy, they didn't seem to be seating customers quickly even when there were empty seats. It seems like they are still working on improving their efficiency. Afterward, I realized that there were supposed to be two types of vegetables in the tempura that were missing... a bit disappointing.

Let's go to LUCUA DINING, it's been a while! It's only 2 stations away from my workplace, making it a perfect lunch area. As I walked around the entire floor, I discovered some new restaurants that I didn't know about. I couldn't help but smile at the lines in front of the shops. It feels like LUCUA DINING is back to its pre-coronavirus days. However, with limited time for lunch, I chose a restaurant without a line. This compact restaurant had a counter, table seats, and a well-organized kitchen where the chefs worked efficiently. I ordered the signature dish of the restaurant: - Takao Ten Teishoku: 1,200 yen It was really satisfying. Before the main tempura dish, they served: - Kombu Mentaiko - Pickles (cabbage, lotus root, daikon) - Miso soup - Rice (you can choose from large, medium, or small) You can also get refills of the kombu mentaiko and pickles. Everything was delicious, with the hot miso soup and tasty rice. Definitely a traditional Japanese restaurant. Now, the main tempura dish was served on the grill: - Slices of pork and white fish The pork tempura was unusual and delicious, not commonly seen in Osaka. The fish was grilled perfectly. - Burdock root and lotus root The thickness of the lotus root surprised me. It had a satisfying crunch. - Eggplant, squid, and shrimp It was unique to have the shrimp as the last item, following the usual order. Perhaps it's a Hakata style. The batter wasn't too thick or too thin. The steamed ingredients retained their natural flavors well. The quality at such an affordable price was great. I paid quickly with PayPay. I think this is the store that I visit the most among chain stores. What I love the most is the unlimited mentaiko (spicy cod roe). I always end up eating so much tempura that I feel stuffed, and then the mentaiko makes me feel even more uncomfortable. But I still love it. The Osaka store even turns takoyaki into tempura. It was delicious. I hope takoyaki tempura becomes more popular.

The freshly fried tempura at this restaurant was very reasonably priced. The tempura batter was thin and light. The squid was moist and tender, very delicious. However, the mackerel was dry and not very tasty. The highlight was the all-you-can-eat mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and pickles, which were really delicious.

Dinner alone at Osaka Station. I've been to one in Yokohama, but this is my first time at Hakata Tempura Takao in Osaka. I ordered a set of beer and 5 kinds of tempura. Soon, mentaiko and pickles were served, and they said it's all-you-can-eat. It seems like all the stores are the same. The 5 kinds of tempura weren't quite enough, so I ordered some more, including tempura takoyaki unique to this store. But, this one was like, what's this? I don't need the unusual ones.

I visited after work. It is located on the 10th floor of LUCUA Dining. They are open for continuous service. The Takao Ue set meal with extra rice costs 1650 yen. The tempura is brought in three separate batches, freshly fried. The shrimp tempura was on the thinner side. The shiitake mushrooms were good. The pickles and spicy cod roe can be refilled for free. I'm not a fan of spicy cod roe, so I didn't eat it. In conclusion, the chain restaurant Sa*Ten is better. Thank you for the meal.

I really wanted to eat tempura for dinner, so I searched and found a famous restaurant in Hakata at LUCUA. I visited there around 6:00 PM on a weekday and was able to enter easily. The counter had baskets underneath the chairs where you could put your belongings. The meal started with tempura dipping sauce, pickles, spicy cod roe with kelp, rice, and miso soup. First, I had white fish and pork, then lotus root and burdock, and finally eggplant, squid, and shrimp. I was planning to order more, but I was so full after finishing everything. The rice was a bit softer than I prefer, but the tempura was not greasy and was crispy and delicious. The yuzu pepper went well with the pork tempura! The regular size of rice with a lot of side dishes made me really full, so it was a good choice to go for the large size on an empty stomach.

Great value! More than worth the price! I searched for a lunch spot in Umeda with my daughter but there were too many options and I had no idea where to go. I left it up to my daughter and she suggested "Let's go to the tempura place in Lucua." Tempura? That's unusual. Isn't there a trendy cafe or something? It's not a high-end place, right? I'm hungry and tempura sounds good, so let's go for it. I'm tired of the crowds and the huge station. It's Sunday at lunchtime, so of course there's a line. There's no paper to write your name on, so we wait in line politely for about 10 minutes. Finally, we're seated and I breathe a sigh of relief. Looking around, every place seems to have a line. Come to think of it, I think I saw this place on the news as the first Kansai branch. Is this the one? The tempura set meal is 1,100 yen. Shrimp, pork, white fish, burdock, lotus root, squid, and eggplant - 7 items are fried and served in 3 separate portions. You can choose from large, medium, or small rice. You can have as much mentaiko, kombu, and pickles (cabbage, lotus root, daikon) as you want. The grated daikon in the tempura dipping sauce is generous, so you don't have to worry about heartburn. The cold oolong tea is served in a pitcher and is all-you-can-drink. It's not the most delicious tea, but you can't complain about something free. The person next to me asked for water, I understand why. It's great that they offer to drain the oil from the tempura. I'm full and the cost performance is excellent. In the competitive Umeda area, is this price really possible? Most of the customers I see are women, young people, and men. They would all be pleased. I got plenty of vegetables, so I'm satisfied. It was a great experience.

The fried tempura I had in Fukuoka was very impressive, so I was looking forward to trying it at the new location in LUCUA. On the 10th floor of LUCUA, there were popular restaurants lined up and I thought there would definitely be a long line, but surprisingly it was not crowded - maybe because it was a weekday or due to the pandemic. The interior of the restaurant had a dim, modern feel, different from what I had imagined. Despite planning to have tempura with my drink in the afternoon, there was no alcohol menu due to COVID-19 measures. I ended up ordering the Takao set meal with my favorite mushroom tempura added. The set meal included pork tempura, white fish tempura, burdock tempura, lotus root tempura, eggplant tempura, shrimp tempura, and squid tempura. The set meal cost 1100 yen and you could choose from large, medium, or small rice portions, along with miso soup. You could also add unlimited pickles, seaweed with mentaiko, and they would bring freshly fried tempura in two varieties at a time. It was nice to have freshly fried tempura. You could season it with tempura dipping sauce, wasabi salt, yuzu shichimi, etc. Overall, the taste was average. The shrimp tempura was disappointing as it was small.

Holiday 1145, I had the Takao Teishoku (¥1,100) with additional items: horse mackerel (¥250) and maitake mushrooms (¥190). I have been a frequent visitor to Canal City in Hakata, but Takao has now opened in Osaka. It seems that branches have been increasing in the Kanto region recently, and it's great to be able to enjoy delicious tempura in various places. Although tempura chains like Makino have been increasing, I still prefer Takao. The deliciousness of tempura is consistent across different places, but what I love most about Takao is the complimentary namasu and mentaiko (all-you-can-eat). With just these and rice, it's almost a complete meal. The tempura, of course, is served freshly fried a few pieces at a time, so you can enjoy it hot. My personal recommendation is the horse mackerel. I don't particularly love horse mackerel, but it's perfect when fried crispy with a nice layer of fat. The taste is just as delicious as in Hakata, but the prices seem slightly higher here. I believe the Takao Teishoku was ¥1,000 in Hakata, but considering the location, it's within an acceptable range.

I ordered the Takao set meal (1100 yen) and the premium Takao set meal (1600 yen). The table had a net on it, and the tempura was served hot in multiple batches, so you can enjoy it piping hot. The food came out promptly, and the tempo was good. The Takao set meal includes pork, shrimp, 2 types of seafood, and 3 types of vegetables. The premium Takao set meal includes pork, 2 shrimp, 2 types of seafood, and 3 types of vegetables. The tempura has a crispy and light texture, with a refreshing aftertaste, thanks to the good frying oil. The ingredients are carefully selected and of high quality, especially the white fish and shrimp. The vegetables are also delicious. You can season the tempura with salt, tempura dipping sauce, or yuzu pepper. The kombu mentaiko and homemade pickles are refillable, which is appreciated. The kombu mentaiko, made with the finest mentaiko from Hiroshima and Katakuri kombu, is very delicious. The shiny rice with mentaiko is irresistible. The crispy pickles are perfect for a palate cleanser. It's nice that they serve black oolong tea instead of water. This is a place where you can easily enjoy freshly fried tempura, and I would definitely like to visit again.
