I went to "Rats Dining" with a senior who came from Sendai, after a good drinking session. It is a bar related to the first place we went to, "Gyoza". We got to play a dice challenge as part of the bar hopping bonus, and I got a free Gin while my junior got a free sweet potato shochu. It was fun! The pizza we ordered for the first time was quite delicious, and it paired well with the excellent beer. This is my favorite bar in Shinjuku.

I was recommended by a friend to visit a bar where you can enjoy the best beer, and decided to go there as our second stop of the day. The bartender, who is also a bassist, poured me a beer that lived up to its reputation in terms of deliciousness. The service was excellent, and I am definitely going to visit again!

I visited this place after seeing the happy hour sign. Happy hour apparently lasts for 2 hours from opening, but the timing differs between weekdays and weekends so be careful. I started with a beer. Popcorn was served as a snack, and I noticed a popcorn maker near the register, so I wonder if that's where it's coming from. I sat at the counter and the staff was friendly and talkative, we had a lively conversation about lunch spots in the neighborhood. I would like to visit again when our schedules align.

I found a place where I could have a light drink before the last train. The menu said the pizza was delicious, so I ordered one. It was served earlier than expected, but it was well-cooked and indeed tasty, including the crust. The staff was friendly and considerate, making it a pretty good place.

This is a bar located underground in front of Shinjuku Southeast Exit. It is a casual bar that is similar to a sports bar and feels like an Irish pub like HUB. It is conveniently close to the station, making it a perfect place to stop by on your way home. They are open until late at night, so I occasionally visit. They serve popcorn as a complimentary snack, and it is all-you-can-eat, which is great! Their specialty is highball cocktails. They have an interesting drink game where the outcome is determined by rolling dice. Be careful not to overdo it though, as it can get quite intense. It's a fun and lively place to enjoy with friends!

Today we went to Shinjuku for a yakiniku date~♪ As usual, we arrived in Shinjuku early. We discovered a happy hour deal!! Once again, just like always! We arrived around 3 PM on a Saturday and went downstairs for our first visit. Since I was alone, I was seated at the counter with 8 seats. First, I ordered a draft beer. For food, I ordered the best garlic toast in Japan for 390 yen and a crispy bacon salad for 590 yen. The waiter also brought a mini bucket of popcorn for 390 yen as a complimentary appetizer. The draft beer was a Premium Malt for 490 yen, but during happy hour, it was only 290 yen. It was poured carefully and served in a chilled glass, which was very nice. The crispy bacon salad had plenty of cherry tomatoes and even some avocado hiding in there. The dressing was generous and delicious. Finally, the best garlic toast in Japan was served. It was a long and thin slice, about 20cm in length. Although it looked ordinary, the taste was extraordinary. It was very garlicky with a rich buttery flavor, and the texture was crispy on the outside and moist inside. It was definitely a perfect dish to enjoy with drinks. I also ordered a Jim Beam highball for 390 yen (190 yen during happy hour) and a Carlo Rossi rose for 390 yen (190 yen during happy hour). The staff consisted of just one friendly guy who looked like a refreshing handsome guy like a guitarist. Overall, the happy hour deal until 8 PM at this bar near Shinjuku South and Southeast exits was fantastic! It's a great place to stop by for a casual drink near the station. Thank you for the meal.

On a rare occasion around 5:00 pm on a weekday, I found myself in Shinjuku, specifically on the southeast side. I exited from the southeast exit and walked straight down the stairs along Koshu Kaido. As I turned left at the first corner, I saw a happy hour sign. With this sudden heatwave of the summer, I felt the need to absorb some alcohol and decided to enter the establishment. On the second floor, there was a popular ramen shop called "Menya Kaijin". I ordered: - Premium Malts Mega Size @580 (Happy Hour price, regular @850) - Southern Rice Cracker with Saba-flavored Pate @490 - Jim Beam Highball Mega Size @380 (Happy Hour price, regular @750) - Charge @390 Going down the stairs to the basement, I found a bar with a trendy and youthful atmosphere, with dim lighting that seemed appealing to young people. There were only a few young groups of customers at that early hour. As more young people started to arrive, it seemed like the place was gaining popularity. I took a seat at the empty counter. A cute young girl greeted me with a smile and explained the system. I decided to take advantage of the happy hour and ordered a draft beer. She suggested that it would be more cost-effective to get the "Mega" size if I planned to have two or more drinks, so I went with the Mega size. In August, they were having an Aomori Fair, featuring a menu with Aomori's branded mackerel that I had enjoyed a few days prior. I ordered the dish that paired the mackerel with Southern Rice Cracker. The pate made with Aomori's branded mackerel was delicious, but the rice cracker was too hard for my liking. I found it tastier when soaked in a broth-like sauce. I kept snacking on the complimentary popcorn. The atmosphere and friendly staff at the restaurant were great. Its proximity to the station makes it a perfect spot for meeting up in Shinjuku or for a pre-drinks gathering. Overall, the place seems very versatile, and I might consider using it more in the future.

The other day, I went food hopping in the Gotanda Ginza shopping street and then returned to Shinjuku feeling like having a drink somewhere. I wandered around and stumbled upon a place called Rats Dining, which seemed like a sports bar. When I entered, I found the interior to be stylish with lots of counters and tables, attracting solo visitors as well as groups of friends or couples. The drinks and food were very affordable, so there were many young people having a great time and enjoying themselves. The drinks and food were delicious, and it was a place where people of all genders could socialize and have a good time. I will definitely visit again!

【Visit time】Around 9:00 PM on weekdays 【Reason for visit】I was looking for a place near Shinjuku Station where I could have a light drink and stumbled upon this place 【Crowdedness】About 60-70% full. Despite not having a prominent sign underground, it was surprisingly popular! Could it be because of its convenient location right near Shinjuku Station South Exit? 【Food】Highball with gold flakes, Bagna Cauda 【Service】My order was forgotten twice and I had to ask for the bill twice before finally getting it. Maybe I was overlooked due to a lively group of regular customers having a great time. 【Amount spent】Less than 2000 yen 【Impression】I decided to try this place due to its convenient location, but as mentioned above, the service was lacking and left me feeling unsettled. The food was average, so I didn't feel the urge to visit again. However, it seemed to be a popular spot, possibly due to its great location just a minute's walk from Shinjuku Station South Exit.

I visited around 12 pm on a weekday. I ordered two pasta dishes at the counter, where you can choose the type of noodles, which was nice. However, the service was slow. I waited for almost 30 minutes. I thought it would be busy with office workers, but it wasn't that crowded. They offer all-you-can-eat waffles, but with only a one-hour break, I couldn't take advantage of it. Overall, the slow service on a weekday was disappointing for a cafe-like place.

This is Keiji Doi. Today I had dinner in Shinjuku and still had some time left, so I decided to stop by ☆ "Lat'd Dining Shinjuku" is a dining bar located just a 10-second walk from the southeast exit of Shinjuku. It's underground, so many people pass by without noticing, but it's actually a well-known bar! They have a great happy hour until 8 pm, with cocktails and highballs for only 180 yen!! Even on weekends and holidays, this bar is budget-friendly for drinkers. Despite the low prices, it's a genuine bar with a wide variety of drinks and delicious whiskey, making it a popular spot for office workers to unwind after work. The cozy interior has 5 counter seats and 20 table seats. The music changes daily depending on the staff's mood, adding to the fun atmosphere. The Italian-inspired menu offers pizza, chicken, and prosciutto, all perfect for pairing with drinks. My favorite is the "Loaded Potato" with cheese, tomato, avocado, and potatoes, a perfect combination of rich cheese and refreshing tomato that goes well with drinks. The complimentary popcorn is also refillable, which is a nice touch. The friendly staff, who remember your name after the second visit, make it enjoyable even for solo diners. Next time you feel like having another drink, why not pay them a visit? ☆

I had a lively time at the restaurant, drinking and enjoying the food. The food was delicious and satisfying. The chairs were high, and when I fell over from drinking too much, I thought I had died. Be careful not to drink too much at this place.

Early September 2023. I was drawn in by the sign of Happy Bubbles right after getting off at the south exit due to the intense heat. They open at 5 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on holidays, so I was able to enjoy it for almost an hour and a half! As soon as I sat down, I ordered two premium malts for 290 yen each (excluding tax) and we cheers! We also received popcorn for 380 yen as a complimentary snack, which was not soggy and helped to replenish saltiness. From the food menu, we ordered Mexican nachos for 490 yen and customized stone oven pizzas, which are known for their toppings (all cheese is included, and one topping worth 100-200 yen is free). We chose tomato base with jalapeño and basil with seafood. At this time, a young female staff member was serving us, and she even stretched out the pizza dough for us. The nachos arrived and were quite voluminous and deliciously crispy. We also had two more highball drinks for 290 yen each, and the jalapeño pizza was served on a thin-legged stand. The round table was small, which was a smart idea. The taste was great and the store manager came by (everyone had name tags). The first female staff member left, so I wondered if they were understaffed on weekdays. Cocktails can be customized with base and mixer, so I ordered tequila with orange, and the seafood pizza arrived just as we finished the first pizza. The basil sauce had a bit too much olive oil, but the taste was good. A few minutes before happy hour ended, the manager informed us, and we ordered two Jim Beam highballs for 190 yen each, as well as a tomato-based mixed vegetable and mixed mushroom pizza to finish. The colorful vegetables had a seasonal autumn feel, and the taste was refreshing. I was quite full by then, but managed to finish everything. There are other Rats in Shinjuku, but this one is an independent franchise store, so they also have limited edition menus. We had 8 drinks, nachos, and 3 pizzas for just over 3,000 yen, which was quite a miracle (only 90 yen was charged for service and as written on Tabelog). I will definitely visit Happy Bubbles again. Thank you for the meal!

A dining bar located just a short walk from Shinjuku Station South Exit. The location is excellent for access. The complimentary popcorn served at the beginning is all-you-can-eat and surprisingly delicious, especially when paired with a highball. This time, I ordered coconut shrimp and garlic pepper pizza, and all the dishes were well-seasoned to go well with alcohol. The interior of the restaurant is dimly lit, with American movies playing, creating a lively yet relaxing atmosphere. There seemed to be many regular customers, and even though I arrived quite late, the place was still bustling with people coming in. The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and suitable for a date night, so I would like to visit again.

I have been going to this place since it opened. I visit both the Shibuya and Shinjuku locations. During happy hour, you can get a highball for only 180 yen! (I think beer too) The drink menu is extensive, so you can order different drinks depending on your mood. They also offer mega sizes, which are a great deal. If you like Kakuhai highballs, be sure to specify when ordering, otherwise you'll get a regular highball (I think it's the same price). There are always fun games and events happening here, so it's always enjoyable to be here. They used to have a Russian roulette takoyaki game where the staff and customers would eat takoyaki, and the loser (with the Tabasco-filled one) would have to buy drinks for the other team. It was always a blast! The food here is mostly bar-style (more Western than izakaya). They have pizza, fried chicken, fries, and more. I love their all-you-can-eat popcorn, it's so easy to eat and I can have as many bowls as I want. The staff is friendly and it's a casual place to hang out. However, it has become quite popular recently, so it can get crowded. I've never made a reservation and always found a seat, but be prepared for some smoke.

A very cheap restaurant. We had drinks for two people and it cost 3750 yen. Cheap. We started with popcorn, then had ham, cheese, and more. The cheese was delicious. The ham was quite tasty too. I was surprised by how cheap it was. The taste was average. But for this price, I am satisfied. We went in as customers and were surprised by the low prices. The edamame and mozzarella cheese were all delicious.
