On this day, clients from a business partner came to the company before 10 am for a meeting that lasted about an hour and a half. It was still before noon, but the area was getting crowded, so I suggested grabbing an early meal. Some people, like Myribe, eat whenever they want, but it's nice to have a change sometimes, right? The lunch sushi menu includes prices with tax included: Regular Set for 1,080 yen, Medium Set for 2,160 yen, High-End Set for 3,000 yen, and Chef's Choice Set for 4,000 yen. There are also lunch options starting from 800 yen, which seem convenient. We ordered the High-End Set for four people. No alcohol, please.
It was just before 12 pm, and there were no other customers yet. After a while, a salad and a hot chawanmushi were served. We ate the salad and chawanmushi, but there was no sign of the sushi coming out. We could see the chef working hard to prepare it, but it took over 30 minutes for the sushi to finally arrive. It seems like they have been in business for a long time, but their operation is a bit lacking.
The sushi consisted of: 1. Medium Fatty Tuna (served with spicy sauce) 2. Sardine (served with moromi sauce) 3. Ark Shell 4. Simmered Conger Eel 5. Sea Urchin 6. Sweet Shrimp 7. Salmon Roe 8. White Fish? (flavored with sansho pepper) 9. Squid, and lastly, a juicy Inari sushi. They were all prepared in an Edo-style without soy sauce on the side, some marinated or seasoned with various toppings like moromi, sansho, or Western-style mustard. Even the sweet shrimp had a hint of mayo flavor. They seem to be experimenting with various flavors.
The companions all agreed that non-conveyor belt sushi is different and better. Personally, I still remember the strong impression from "Nomura" in Kagoshima, so I felt like something was missing. Also, the soup was a Wakame and Tofu clear soup, but it would have been nice to have the option of a red miso soup. Nevertheless, I think this sushi restaurant is suitable for casual lunches and even for business entertainment during lunch or dinner.
