On Saturdays, it has become a regular thing for me and my partner to go on a lunch tour. We always struggle to decide where to go until the last minute, and we couldn't remember the restaurant we always said we wanted to try. This time, my partner suggested going to the well-known restaurant we always talked about, and we decided to go to Imazumi Kitchen for lunch. We set off around 14:00, so we might arrive around 15:00. It can be quite challenging to find a place that serves lunch continuously. However, we were relieved to find out that this restaurant was open all day. I was looking forward to trying the Ebi Fry set meal, which is generous in portion and allows you to choose from 5 to 10 pieces, so we headed there with excitement. Upon arrival, we found that parking around Imazumi was expensive. After wandering around, we finally parked at the usual parking lot for light vehicles and headed to the restaurant. When we arrived... it turned out that although they usually don't take a break in the afternoon, that day they were short-staffed due to COVID-19, so they were open until 16:00 for evening preparations. Although we couldn't relax, we had to make the most of our 60 minutes and hurried inside. Imazumi Kitchen is located on the second floor, with a signboard under the stairs displaying a menu full of options. We were greeted and seated at a table by the window. The menu was extensive, but I couldn't resist ordering the Large Ebi Fry set with 10 pieces, as I always do, along with the Green Curry set, which I also love. My partner ordered the Steak Heavy 500g, aiming for a double enjoyment. Rice and miso soup were free for refills, and with pickles and other side dishes available, it was a guaranteed full stomach at this restaurant. We ordered pickles and beer, and while waiting for them to arrive, the Large Ebi Fry with 10 pieces appeared! What a sight! The Ebi Fry here is deliciously sweet and satisfying, not just a lot of breading like most large Ebi Fry. I couldn't resist taking a bite of my partner's Steak Heavy. It was also voluminous, with a wide spread of rare steak on top. The steak itself was delicious, with just the right amount of meatiness. Finally, the Green Curry arrived, which we couldn't fit on the table (laughs). I have been a fan of Green Curry ever since I tried it in Thailand. Recently, I have been delighted to find more authentic Thai-style Green Curry available. This restaurant's Green Curry was no exception! The burst of spices in the mouth, along with the slight sweetness and creamy coconut flavor, was irresistible. Green Curry goes perfectly with beer. The staff seemed a bit tired, possibly due to being understaffed because of COVID-19, but they still served us with a smile. I hope things calm down with the coronavirus soon. Another restaurant discovery that is definitely worth a repeat visit! There are so many other menu items that caught my eye, so I would love to go back again! #lunch #setmeal #LargeEbiFry #SteakHeavy #GreenCurry #FukuokaGourmet #FukuokaLunch #Fukuoka #Imazumi
