Located in Kumamoto, "Gyoza-ya Nino Ni" has its main store and is bustling in Fukuoka, Okinawa, Osaka, and other places. The name "Nino Ni" comes from the fact that the main store's address is "2-2," which sounds like a lie but is actually true. This time, I ventured to Sotobori-cho in Minami for a quick dinner. The interior of the restaurant has a Taiwanese-style street stall atmosphere. The menu is easy to understand with photos. In addition to Chinese cuisine, there is a wide variety of Asian dishes such as Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. The menu is full of items you can't find in typical Chinese restaurants, which is quite appealing. The drink menu is extensive, with a happy hour until 6:30 pm offering drinks like draft beer, lemon sour, glass of wine, highball, shochu, and more for 290 yen (excluding tax). Plus, gyoza is half price, making it a great deal. There are also daily specials like stir-fried garlic chives, bonito tataki, and Korean cold noodles. I couldn't decide between draft beer and lemon sour, so I toasted with a lemon sour. This lemon sour is slightly sweet and refreshing, easy to drink. Grilled gyoza 7 pieces 250 yen (excluding tax) → 125 yen (excluding tax) During happy hour, it's half price! The gyoza sauce is slightly sweet, maybe due to the Kyushu soy sauce used. The bite-sized gyoza is crispy and has a thin skin. The filling uses only domestic pork and carefully selected domestic vegetables. When you bite into it, the juicy meat juices overflow, incredibly delicious. It's full of umami, and the aftertaste is refreshing. Pairing it with a lemon sour creates a blissful moment. Soup gyoza 6 pieces 300 yen (excluding tax) I ordered one serving of grilled gyoza and one of soup gyoza to compare. The soup gyoza has a light saltiness with a hint of chive aroma. The gyoza in the chicken-based soup is plump and juicy. This soup is amazing! I want to try it with noodles too! The gyoza soaked in the rich soup is unbeatably delicious. The sesame oil aroma is also a nice touch. Bonito tataki 480 yen (excluding tax) Enjoy it with plenty of condiments. The sauce has a Chinese-style and ethnic flavor. The chewy umami of bonito pairs perfectly with it! It's a different kind of deliciousness compared to regular bonito tataki! It makes you want some Shaoxing wine... Crispy fried eggplant 430 yen (excluding tax) The eggplant is coated with "kataifi," giving it a crispy texture. The hot and tender eggplant is juicy. The combination of the melty eggplant and crispy kataifi is fantastic. The spicy and savory mapo sauce adds to the flavor. Stir-fried greens 480 yen (excluding tax) It's a stir-fry of Chinese broccoli. The quickly stir-fried Chinese broccoli is very fresh and crunchy. However, I found the saltiness to be a bit strong. Crispy fried spring rolls 4 pieces 420 yen (excluding tax) The spring rolls are wrapped in kataifi, giving them a crispy texture. The hot and tender filling inside is sweet and savory. The sweet chili sauce adds a nice touch. There are still many dishes I want to try, but unfortunately, I'm already full. The deliciousness of fried dishes using kataifi has impressed me. Takeout is also available. Thank you for the delicious meal. Delicious Foodie Diary.
