Namba Kagetsu is a cozy izakaya located on the first floor, with a counter in the corner that is almost always full. They have a fish tank with swimming prawns, ensuring fresh seafood for dishes like sushi and red miso soup. Their ham katsu, with seven layers of thick ham, is crispy and delicious. I always order the crab miso tofu as it goes well with drinks. In addition to classic dishes like sashimi and chicken wings, they also offer a variety of seasonal specials. The menu is so diverse that you never get tired of coming back. If you're looking for an izakaya in Namba and wondering where to go, you can't go wrong with this place. They are open from 11:00 to 23:00, and even if it looks full from the outside, there may still be seats available at the back counter.

Based on a friend's recommendation, I visited this place around 9 PM on Saturday and was able to get in easily. It's counter seating only, but it doesn't feel cramped, which is nice. What surprised me the most was the prices - very affordable! Unfortunately, because of the time, they had sold out of sashimi, but I was able to lift my spirits with some delicious oysters, shrimp mayo, and octopus tempura. The oysters and octopus were tasty, but the shrimp mayo was amazing... the shrimp was large and the mayo sauce had an addictive flavor. I devoured it all, including the vegetables underneath. Since I couldn't have any raw fish this time, I definitely want to visit again next time I'm in Namba! Thank you for the meal!

Looking for seafood, I casually wandered around Namba. I found a restaurant next to Yoshimoto New Comedy Theater and ordered the seafood I was looking for. The thickness of the sashimi was incredible. The sushi toppings were also large and very satisfying to eat! The oden was also delicious and irresistibly flavorful. The alcohol went down smoothly. It seems they open from 11 am, so it's perfect for day drinking! It was really delicious.

Perfect. Cheap, courteous, top-notch in both taste and service. Each dish is carefully measured before being served. I was surprised to see them measuring each ingredient for the daikon in the oden individually. The ham cutlet is made with 7.8 slices of pork loin ham stacked and fried. The freshness of the sashimi and tekka maki is outstanding, you can't go wrong with anything you order.

The izakaya next to NGK is a great place to stop by after watching a theater performance. It's exciting to see various comedians walking around the area by chance. I tried the oden, and the daikon was large and flavorful, very delicious. It's something that I can't replicate at home. The half-cooked eggs were also a unique touch. The sashimi was fresh and tasty. The ham cutlet was made with thin layers of ham stacked like mille-feuille. The other dishes like nuta salad were also well-seasoned and went well with drinks. It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

I arrived at the restaurant around 12:30 on Sunday and luckily managed to get a table for two. This izakaya offers great value for the quality of food, making it a good choice for those who appreciate good food. The striped jack sashimi and oden broth were particularly delicious! They also have a wide selection of sake, which I highly recommend.

There aren't many places where you can drink in the morning, but this place is highly recommended. You can drink at a very reasonable price from 11am. The menu mainly consists of Japanese cuisine, but you can enjoy a variety of dishes. The presentation is beautiful and you can feel the attention to detail. I recommend the sashimi platter, similar to Sakana no Jinbee, which is a bit pricey but worth it. The cost is probably over 50% of the original price. If you want to drink in the morning, definitely check it out.

Namba Grand Kagetsu in Chuo-ku, Osaka. We visited with three people around 12 pm on a weekday for some bar hopping. We were seated at the counter and ordered the following items: ★ Black draft beer (medium) - 429 yen ★ Assorted sashimi (7 types) - 1,199 yen ★ Homemade thick fried tofu - 429 yen ★ Ham cutlet - 429 yen Key points of the restaurant that we intuitively felt: - High-quality sashimi and attentive service The restaurant was bustling with customers, with almost all counter seats occupied even on a weekday afternoon. We came to Osaka not specifically for Namba Grand Kagetsu but for bar hopping. The choice of the restaurant was left to someone else, and we ended up here based on my past visits and confident recommendations. The sashimi included tuna (red meat and medium fatty), sea bream, flounder, striped jack, octopus, and other fresh catches of the day. The sashimi was fresh and beautifully presented, but with only 2 pieces per type, popular items ran out quickly among the three of us (laughs). We had a view of the fryer, and we could see the homemade thick fried tofu being coated with starch and fried. The crispy coating with silky tofu inside was delicious, and the freshly fried ham cutlet was a perfect match with the black draft beer. The service was also excellent, making us feel comfortable and ready for the next stop. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Visit rating: 3.49/5 (out of 212 reviews)

Stayed in Osaka for a trip. The night before, I visited Tennoji, and on this day, I visited Namba Yasaka Shrine and Sumiyoshi Taisha during the day, starting with a day drink in Namba at 3 pm. The first stop was Satsuki, located next to Namba Grand Kagetsu. I noticed a long line of young people at a nearby takoyaki shop as I entered. Inside, there was a spacious circular counter. The menu was also extensive. The Kanpachi sashimi I ordered first was delicious, and the twist chicken with ponzu sauce was surprisingly good. The chicken meat felt tender, perhaps due to being warm, compared to the twist ponzu I had in Himeji before. We also had tomato salad and salt-grilled chicken wings before moving on to the next restaurant.

On the first floor of NGK, if you want to have high-quality seafood in Namba in the middle of the day, this is the place to go! They open at 11 am! It's a popular spot with only counter seats, always busy with customers. They don't have bottled beer, so I had a draft beer for 429 yen. Draft beer can be hit or miss depending on the place, and unfortunately, this one was a miss with a strange unpleasant smell. For food, I had a sashimi platter for 649 yen, seaweed salad for 649 yen, and tasty simmered Thai fish for 539 yen. The sashimi platter had tuna, striped jack, and flounder, each with 2 pieces. The tuna was flavorful without being watery, the striped jack and flounder were fresh and firm. The seaweed salad was refreshing, and the simmered Thai fish was a good accompaniment to drinks. The quality of the seafood is definitely high. However, I felt that the prices were a bit higher than before, with most dishes priced over 500 yen and portion sizes being smaller. It seems like they may no longer be the kind of izakaya you go to for good value. That's all.

I visited this restaurant for the first time for dinner. Sometimes there is a line, so I was curious about it. The sashimi platter was excellent, and I noticed that they also serve drinks during the day. I was seated at the counter next to a charming female customer who seemed to be a tourist from Korea and mentioned participating in the 2019 No Panties Movement♡, but I think she meant No Japan instead of No Panties♡. Anyway, I ordered fried oysters, twisted ponzu sashimi with 3 types, and a draft beer, which came to around 2500 yen. I wanted to try the 7-piece sashimi platter, but they were out of many items, so I settled for 3 types. Even so, it was a good value and the taste was decent. Thank you for the meal.

"Whoa! I just wanted to have a drink, so I went here. When entering the store, they strongly encourage you to use hand sanitizer, which shows that they are really thorough with infection prevention measures. The partitions are set up at a good distance, creating a calm atmosphere for solo diners. The crab miso tofu was delicious, and when I took a sip of hot sake after a bite, it was like a burst of miso aroma. It really made the sake go down smoothly. The sand gaper stir-fry takes a bit of time to cook on the iron plate, but it's worth the wait. The texture is both chewy and crunchy, seasoned just right. By the way, if you order a serving of hot sake, it comes in a glass instead of a sake decanter. Thank you for the meal."

I landed in Namba and was thinking about where to eat. Ended up at a restaurant next to NGK. They had a variety of dishes like sashimi platter, oden assortment, cabbage rolls, shirako tempura, shrimp mayo, and more. I had been curious about this place and surprisingly, the food was delicious. It was reasonably priced and I think it was worth it. It seems to be a branch of the Wasurena Grass series (I've never been to one). They open from 11 am and serve throughout the day, so it's good for drinking in the afternoon. The only downside is that they only accept cash and don't provide receipts, so it's unclear if the prices were accurate. I would go back alone as well. We had various drinks and the total for two people was just over 7000 yen!

Located on the first floor of Namba Grand Kagetsu, this izakaya serves drinks from 11 am. I visited around 12 pm after having lunch, wanting to have a light drink. The atmosphere at the crowded counter was enjoyable, with everyone having a good time drinking from noon. I ordered 7 kinds of sashimi, shirasu with grated radish, tekka maki, and edamame, along with a highball and shochu soda. Although I wasn't very hungry, the sashimi was delicious. I ended up drinking from noon again. The service from the staff was great, and it was a wonderful restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

When I arrived in Amza, I was quite tired, so I took a break and a nap before heading back out into the streets of Osaka around 9 PM. Originally, I planned to go to a ramen shop in Dojima Shotengai, but I really wanted to drink, so I gave up on the ramen shop and decided to go to an izakaya instead. The place I ended up at was Satsuki. Do you ever have preconceived notions about a restaurant? I had known about this place for a while and was curious, but I hesitated to visit because it's located in the same building as Yoshimoto New Comedy Theater. I thought it might be a place where customers who just finished watching the show would stop by, and the food might not be that great. However, after checking the reviews on Tabelog, I saw that it had pretty high ratings. So, I decided to give it a try. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was seated at the counter on the right side. I ordered a draft beer (Asahi Super Dry) and a sashimi platter with five types of fish. Unfortunately, the homemade potato salad was sold out. Since I was still not feeling completely recovered, and I mainly came for the drinks, I decided to stick with these orders. While waiting, the sashimi platter arrived, consisting of bluefin tuna, red sea bream, flounder, cold yellowtail, and fresh octopus. The sashimi looked amazing, and when I tried it, each piece was fresh, had a nice texture, and was delicious. I regretted not ordering the seven kinds of sashimi platter instead. The bill came out to be surprisingly cheap, only 1500 yen with a beer refill. I couldn't believe I had overlooked such a great restaurant that was so close by. Lesson learned: don't judge a restaurant based on preconceptions, just give it a try at least once. Next time, I'll come back for the seven kinds of sashimi platter and the potato salad. The service was a bit cold, but overall, it was a great experience.

I went to "Satsuki" with a friend for a daytime drink on our day off. We arrived at 11 am when they opened, and it was not crowded. By early afternoon, it was full. We had a great time drinking Japanese sake from 11 am, and couldn't stop laughing. The atmosphere was different from the comedy hotspot "Namba Grand Kagetsu" (what's that about? lol). They offered a variety of drinks like beer, shochu, and sake, and the food options were also diverse, including sashimi, oden, grilled dishes, and fried foods. One dish I highly recommend is the thick fried tofu. It is fried slowly in oil at a slightly lower temperature, giving it a unique texture that is addictive. The subtle scent of soybeans is pleasant, and it tastes great with soy sauce, green onions, and ginger. I got a bit confused in the middle of my review, but overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal. Thank you very much.

I had been wanting to go there for a while. The place is nice and the reviews are good. For some reason, I was craving something different from the usual. Finally, I made it there. For lunch, I had sushi, so I skipped the sashimi and ordered grilled silver cod and octopus tempura. I had hot sake. A large sake cup of hot sake arrived. The grilled dish and tempura took a little time, so I also ordered oden. The daikon was not too soft and had a good flavor. Some people like it soft, but I prefer it a little firm. The grilled silver cod arrived. It was good. Grilled fish goes well with hot sake. Two cups of hot sake and three dishes. It came to just over 2000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a shop located at the corner of Namba Grand Kagetsu and ordered a small draft beer, Kido glass, sasami tataki, and tako tempura. The total came to a surprising 1,100 yen! I was skeptical at first, but maybe it's because they didn't serve any appetizers? Anyway, I'm satisfied with the low price. The sasami tataki was tender and fresh, and the tako tempura was crispy. I was also pleased to see Kido among the variety of sake options.
