This is Muroran. When it comes to yakitori in Muroran, Ippei is famous, but this Toritatsu is also a well-known restaurant. There is a branch in the direction of Muroran Station, and it seems that the main store is there, which some people say is better, but it's a bit far. This restaurant is located in the center of Nakajima-cho, but the location is somewhat hard to find. It is located on a small street on the front side of Don Quijote. There is a deep counter and a raised seating area opposite it. It seems like the second floor is a banquet hall. The grill is small, so when ordering, it's best to order all at once to avoid waiting too long. The must-order items for yakitori are the "Shiro" (white meat) and "Liver." The juicy liver and tender white meat are superb. The liver is delicious with sauce, while the white meat goes well with both sauce and salt. The white meat often sells out, so it's best to order it first. However, by 6:30 PM, more than half of the menu items are often sold out, which can be a bit disappointing. You can order just one skewer, making it friendly for solo diners. In Sapporo, there are menu items called "Muroran Yakitori," but this restaurant doesn't have a skewer specifically named that. If you order simply "pork skewer with sauce," you'll get a Muroran Yakitori-style skewer with onions and mustard. The mustard also comes with salt-grilled skewers. The sauce is delicious, but salt might be better for chicken. The tongue is also tasty, and the "Garlic Sprout Bacon Wrap" seems appetizing. Chicken wings take quite some time to grill thoroughly. The "Yudofu" is good on cold days, and the "Butter Potato" is fluffy and delicious. The "Nasu Dengaku" is a large eggplant with minced chicken and miso sauce, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. It's really good. The "Sashimi Platter" with yakitori is also a nice touch. The horse sashimi is thinly sliced. The "Potato Fries" are large and tasty, and the "Camembert Cheese Tempura" has a rich and creamy cheese filling. It's great for pairing with whiskey or other drinks. The fresh vegetables are a bit pricey, so the "White Asparagus Salad" with plenty of mayonnaise might be a better option. The "Zangi" is juicy with a crispy exterior, and the "Young Chicken Half-Fried" is surprisingly delicious.

I had pork skewers for the first time in my life. It seems that there used to be regular chicken skewers in Muroran. Gradually, the chicken meat was replaced by cheap pork meat nearby, and the leeks were also replaced by cheap onions nearby. The combination of pork meat and onions was excellent, and Muroran skewers became established with pork meat and onions. According to the locals, the story goes something like this, but the name is so confusing. Well, it's cheap and delicious, so it must have pleased everyone, and the inexplicable name may have made it even more memorable. The restaurant opens promptly at 6:00 pm. We waited outside until then. It was fully booked on this day. The sauce was sweet, and for some reason, there was mustard, which added an interesting touch. Thank you for the meal.

On the 9th day of my camping trip in Hokkaido, I went to this popular yakitori restaurant near my hotel for dinner. The restaurant had an old-fashioned atmosphere with a small counter where I enjoyed juicy and well-grilled yakitori prepared by the skilled chefs. The side dishes were also delicious. However, I was surprised to find out that the white asparagus salad was made with canned white asparagus. I had imagined it would be fresh in Hokkaido, but it was still tasty. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Personally, I think the best yakitori in Muroran is Toritatsu. The pieces are large and very satisfying to eat. The sauce is rich, and when you dip it in mustard, it's just amazing. Everyone, make sure to order plenty of skewers! The zangi is also juicy and delicious. However, the side dishes overall seem to be not cost-effective. The shrimp chili spring rolls are tiny, and you only get 2 for 600 yen! I wouldn't recommend them, haha.

Arrived at 17:30 with a reservation. There was a sign at the entrance saying that the restaurant was fully booked for the day with reservations, which was good. It's difficult to get into a popular restaurant during Golden Week without a reservation. Ordered grilled chicken, chicken skin, chicken gizzard, bacon-wrapped cheese mochi, boneless zangi, grilled clams, grilled shiitake mushrooms, and more. The pork skewers were truly delicious. Tried a PoKa Sapporo Ribbon Napoli Sour, which you can only find in Hokkaido. It's sweet but has a unique taste like Lipovitan-D or Decavita. The young staff members were efficient and handled everything well.

Located near Don Quijote in Higashi-Muroran, Toritatsu-san is a nostalgic yakitori restaurant. The main store is on the Muroran Station side. You sit in a tatami room and place your order. It's great that they have large beer jugs. We start with a cheers with a big draft beer. We order all the yakitori (pork) varieties. The great point here is that the meat is big! They are all wild and powerful. Indeed, bigger meat tastes better. The liver is big and cooked slowly inside, making it moist and tender. Highly recommended. Another high point is that the menu is extensive. They even have horse sashimi, haha. It's a minus point that the drink order takes a while to arrive. Were they busy? Thank you for the meal.

The Nakajima branch is spicier than the main branch. The main branch has a sweeter flavor that goes well with the meat. The chicken liver and white liver may be bigger at the main branch, but the meat is tender at both locations. Both branches serve delicious food. The white liver and chicken gizzard are my favorites, especially the white liver which is always in high demand, so it's essential to get there early to secure it. It's recommended to make a reservation if possible. The cheese tomato bacon roll is only available at the Nakajima branch. They really loaded it with cheese! It made me so happy I got a little tipsy. However, sometimes the staff might forget about your order, which is a bit disappointing.

Muroran yakitori is famous for its pork skewers sauce, which is delicious without any pork smell. I visited on Saturday at 7 pm and about 30% of the skewers were already sold out. Unfortunately, the customer service was not good. I recommend those planning to visit to go early.

In Muroran, when it comes to yakitori, it's all about pork. This longstanding restaurant was so popular that we had to make a reservation to get in. In Nagoya, yakitori is known for its spicy punch, but in Muroran, every dish comes with a sauce or salt with Japanese mustard. The thick pork liver, heart, and tongue dipped in mustard were incredibly delicious. The pork shiro was also tasty. We also tried the potato mochi, white asparagus, and sangi (fried chicken), all of which were delicious. We went as a family of three and everyone was satisfied. We wanted to order the crab cream croquette at the end because it looked so good, but the restaurant got busy and it took a while to come out, so we had to give up. If we have the chance, we would love to try it. This yakitori restaurant in Muroran had a different vibe from the ones in Nagoya, and it was great. Thank you for the meal.

Category: Favorite Izakaya (Hokkaido and Tohoku) Today, I went on a solo trip to an izakaya in Higashi-Muroran. I took the limited express train from Hakodate to Higashi-Muroran, enjoying the view of the sea along the way. Upon arriving in Higashi-Muroran, I took a short break at a hotel. I took a bath in the large communal bath and then took a nap. Around 6 pm, I headed to the downtown area of Higashi-Muroran. "Yakitori Ippei" was full, so I walked a bit further to "Toritatsu" and sat at the counter. I started with a draft beer, specifically Sapporo Black Label. The appetizer was edamame. The draft beer was incredibly delicious. It's something you can't easily find in the Tokyo area. While bottled beer has its place, where can draft beer enthusiasts go? After about 4 minutes, my yakitori arrived. I ordered skewers of chicken thigh meat, tsukune (chicken meatball), and chicken skin, all with sauce. I liked that I could order just one skewer at a time, and they were served in the order they were ready. The sauce had a thick consistency and a sweet taste. The harmony between the meat and the onion in between was impressive. The cold tofu arrived a bit later, which I thought would come before the yakitori. I ordered another draft beer and enjoyed my meal. "Toritatsu" is a very popular place. Groups of 4 or more people were coming in one after another, followed by couples. The tables were full, but there were seats available at the counter. It seems that solo drinkers are quite rare, especially in regional areas. Solo drinkers seem to be excluded from consideration, as they are few in number and lack influence. After the beer, I ordered a highball with Suntory Kakubin. Lastly, I had boneless zangi, which was freshly fried and delicious. The refined seasoning was also excellent. The customers kept coming in one after another. It was quite ordinary. The meat was tender and easy to eat. The sauce was on the sweeter side. I wish they had put more mustard on the plate. We arrived at the restaurant around 8 pm on a Saturday night, but many items were already sold out, so I recommend going earlier.

When you come to Muroran, you must try Muroran yakitori! I visited a popular local restaurant known for its delicious yakitori. I ordered the pork skewers, which were grilled to perfection and then marinated in a flavorful sauce. The taste was amazing! I usually prefer salt-flavored yakitori, but Muroran yakitori's sauce was a perfect match. I also tried the bacon-wrapped enoki mushrooms, creamy crab croquette, salty mackerel, and refreshing mozuku seaweed vinegar to balance out the richness. The meal ended with a slightly salty salmon rice ball. Overall, it was a delicious and enjoyable dining experience.

"Tori Tatsu Nakajima Store" was my second stop for a drink and some food in Muroran. The popular place I wanted to go to was full, so I decided to try this place instead. Unfortunately, it was almost time for last call, so I had to give up this time. According to my wife's notes, there is a yakitori restaurant nearby, which is a branch of a popular yakitori place. Despite being in Muroran, it was quite cold. When I entered, I could find a seat, but many of the skewers were sold out. The only options left were "pork," "chicken," and "gizzard." I ordered them and was offered a private seating area. Even though it was already 9:30 pm, the place was quite busy. I ordered a beer and without even looking at the menu, I knew there were only those three options available. I ordered the skewers with salt and sauce. The gizzard was small but tasty, with just the right amount of salt. The pork was good, but the meat at the previous place might have been better. The chicken skewer had a burnt smell from the salt and pepper seasoning, which made it hard to eat. Overall, Muroran seems to prefer sauce over salt, and the flavors tend to be on the sweeter side. It was a perfect place to enjoy a Black Label beer. It was a decent restaurant experience overall.

In Nakajima-cho, Muroran City, there are many shops that can make your night enjoyable. I visited this restaurant with my family to try "Muroran yakitori". The children were very excited to try Muroran yakitori for the first time! The skewers were filled with a variety of Western-style ingredients, and even though it's called yakitori, it actually uses pork meat. The sweet and savory sauce paired perfectly with the juicy pork meat! We ordered a variety of items like tsukune and bacon-wrapped skewers. The deliciousness was so overwhelming that even my wife, who usually doesn't drink alcohol, ordered plum wine and we had a great time. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very nice, and I would love to visit again.

The popular yakitori restaurant main branch is located in Chuocho. After 6 pm, they may run out of items like young chicken and especially the white meat skewers, so it's recommended to come early. This is my favorite yakitori restaurant in Muroran. The white meat here is much more delicious than other places, even my friend who doesn't eat organ meat enjoyed it. The crab shumai releases broth from inside like a xiaolongbao. Be careful as it is very hot. I always order the white meat and crab shumai. It's often crowded, so it's recommended to make a reservation before going. They give children a small candy (around 100 yen) as a gift when paying the bill.

When I called to check for availability, they said there were exactly 2 seats at the counter and reserved them for me right away. If I hadn't called in advance, I might not have gotten a seat. The restaurant has a counter, tatami seating, and a second floor, all of which were fully occupied. As the grilled dishes kept coming, the restaurant filled with smoke, creating a misty atmosphere, which added to the charm. The person next to me casually recommended dishes that they had finished. They seemed like a regular, enjoying their beer in a large mug. The grilled meat was marinated in a slightly sweet sauce, which was not overly sweet and made a perfect snack. The meat was tender, and the contrast in texture with the onions was enjoyable. Everything else we tried was delicious as well. The assorted pickles were great with a variety of options.

There is no all-you-can-drink option. You have to go to Shiroya soon after opening or they might run out. The salt ponzu was delicious.

I made a reservation and entered the restaurant, but the staff were chatty and the noise of placing plates was bothersome. When I complained about the cold inside, the staff just laughed it off saying, "Maybe it's a draft." Even though I was still drinking, they tried to take away my drink. The yakitori and other dishes were just average, not up to the hype. I won't be going back again.
