Bunku Tea Cafe @ Yame City (Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture) ● Ordered item review event + red bean and matcha ice cream ¥660 ● Personal rating: ★4.1 ● Introduction On the way back from Robatayaki Yamaroku, we stopped by Bunku Tea Cafe in Yame. It is not accessible by public transportation, so a car is a must. Visited on a holiday at 14:40. Although it is not a super popular store, we were initially turned away because a group of 30 people was expected to arrive later. However, we were allowed to sit on the terrace, and we placed our order there. Looking at the menu, there were teas priced at ¥660 and ¥550, and no prices listed for desserts. When we asked the staff, we were told that the set of tea and dessert was ¥660/¥550. What kind of deal is that??? Laughs. We ordered the review event tea and red bean and matcha ice cream set. ● Taste impressions While waiting, we were served roasted barley tea (3rd picture). The hospitality was outstanding, and the fragrant roasted barley tea was soothing. When the main tea and dessert were served, the staff explained how to drink the tea. In the first picture, the tea leaves were placed in the tea pot leaning against the tea bag, and hot water was poured in front of it. The hot water in the cup in the front was at a temperature of 60°C, and the tea was ready after steeping for 1 minute. This 60°C temperature was the key. For the second cup onwards, hot water was poured into the cup from the teapot, then back to the tea pot before drinking from the cup. No steeping was needed for the second cup onwards. This tea was exquisite!!! It had a rich and calming taste, deserving of being entered in a competition. After finishing the tea, we were told that we could eat the tea leaves. Eat the tea leaves??? We were surprised, but as shown in the 5th picture on the right, we dipped the tea leaves in vinegar soy sauce and ate them as they were. It was a peculiar food with a seaweed-like texture, combined with the deep flavor of tea and the salty-sour taste of the vinegar soy sauce. The dessert was not surprisingly amazing, just delicious white dumplings and matcha ice cream. They paired well with the tea. ● Overall impression A set of the most delicious tea and sweets for ¥660. Unbelievable cost performance. The staff mentioned that they were considering raising the prices soon, but I couldn't help but say that even if they doubled the price, it would still be cheap. An incredibly delicious Yame tea with sweets, and the fun of savoring the tea leaves themselves. This is a cafe that I would recommend more than any other I have visited! A car is necessary, so it can be combined with a tour of Kurume ramen or sightseeing in Kumamoto. #Bunku #Yame Tea Cafe Bunku #Gourmet #Gourmet Instagram #Want to connect with gourmet people #Want to connect with people who love to eat #Cafe #Cafe Instagram #Want to connect with people who love cafes #Tea #Want to connect with people who love tea #Tea cafe #Fukuoka #Fukuoka gourmet #Fukuoka cafe #Yame City #Yame City gourmet #Yame City cafe #Japan #Fukuoka #Gourmet #Cafe #Café #Japanese tea

They allowed me to eat even though it was before opening hours! Thank you very much. The price used to be 550 yen, but it has increased due to price hikes. It was disappointing that the side dish for the soba lunch was spaghetti. I wish there was a choice of noodles for noodle dishes.

You can enjoy high-quality tea such as Gyokuro for 4000 yen per 100g or Sencha for 3000 yen, along with sweets for 660 yen. The first cup is prepared by the staff with the perfect temperature water and a sand timer to ensure the best taste. You can also get hot water for refills, allowing you to enjoy multiple servings. Additionally, you can eat the fresh tea leaves after finishing your drink. It's a great value for tea lovers to enjoy premium tea with sweets. Highly recommended!

I ordered a set of Gyokuro tea and Shiratama cream matcha ice cream at the café. There were several choices for tea such as Sencha, Hojicha, Genmaicha, Matcha Latte, etc., and for sweets, there were about 8 options including parfaits and chiffon cakes. The staff explained how to brew the tea. After enjoying about 3 infusions, they mentioned that you can sprinkle vinegar and soy sauce on the tea leaves. I thought it would be impossible, but it was surprisingly delicious. I didn't know you could enjoy tea like this! While Gyokuro tea was delicious, personally I preferred the Houjicha for its stronger sweetness. I also bought tea and sweets from the neighboring store. Thanks to that, I had a relaxing time.

I drove to Yame and had some tea soba. For dessert, I had kinako. The tea was delicious, but it was quite crowded and the food took a while to be served. I recommend going there with plenty of time to spare. There's a souvenir shop next door, so I was able to get everything done in one place!

In Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture, there is a parking lot in front of the store on both sides and another one on the south side. This place is a tea shop, but they also serve as a cafe and offer takeout. The interior is surprisingly spacious, so you can relax and enjoy a cafe time. They have lunch and desserts available as well. This time, I ordered the matcha soft serve for 350 yen including tax, and it was delicious. They accept PayPay as payment. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal! (o^^o)

On the way back from camping, my friend wanted to relax and have a leisurely tea, so we stopped by "Yame Tea Cafe Bunkuku". It is a Japanese cafe attached to the Yame Miryoku-en Seicha factory's direct sales store. The atmosphere is calm and cozy with a traditional folk art style, making it a perfect place to unwind. We ordered a tea and dessert set. First, we chose the type of tea and whether we wanted it hot or cold. The set price varies depending on the tea chosen. Then we selected our desserts! I chose Sencha (hot) with Matcha Hotcake for 550 yen, while my friend chose Hinpyokai (hot) with Red Bean and Matcha Ice Cream for 660 yen. While sipping on warm hojicha, we waited patiently. It took quite a while for our order to arrive, but my friend was excited to taste the Hinpyokai tea, which turned out to be more flavorful than expected. My Sencha was also delicious. We had multiple refills and ended the meal by eating the tea leaves with vinegar and soy sauce, which was surprisingly tasty. The Matcha Hotcake had a crispy surface, but perhaps it could have been more traditional. Overall, it was a nice change of pace to enjoy a leisurely tea in a Japanese-style cafe. Thank you for the meal!

I found this place by chance and decided to go in. The parking lot is on both sides of the shop, but it might be easier to park on the left side as it is narrow. Inside the shop, they sell souvenirs from Yame and have a spacious dining area. Both of us ordered the "sweet set." The price varies depending on the choice of tea. We had the following: - "Genmaicha" tea and "Azuki and Matcha Ice Cream" for 550 yen (tax included). The genmaicha tea comes with hot water for refills, and you can have about 3 servings. It has a nice aroma. My husband loves the texture of the "shiratama" (rice flour dumplings) and thought the red bean paste was average. - "Sencha (you can choose hot or cold)" and "Black Honey Kinako and Matcha Ice Cream" for 550 yen (tax included). The ice cream had plenty of kinako and black honey. I only had one piece, and my husband finished the rest. The matcha ice cream comes with cold water for refills, and you can have about 3 servings. The tea leaves are steeped in a small amount of hot water and then mixed with cold water. The first serving was the most delicious. They also have a menu for sweets and tea. The lunch menu is affordable. Even though it was after lunchtime, my husband wanted to have soba, but it was already sold out. The tea was delicious, and it was a perfect place for a break.

Yame is a tea town in Japan. I often buy tea leaves at tea shops, but I am looking for a cafe where I can enjoy a different experience. That's when I found Yame Midorien Green Tea Cafe and decided to visit. I ordered three types of tea for a tasting session: Gyokuro, Tamaryokucha, and Susuricha. The first steeping was for 2 minutes, using slightly cooled water in a teacup. From the first sip to the last drop, the tea had a rich and creamy flavor, with a lingering aroma that made me lose track of time. For the second steeping, I used slightly hotter water, which brought out a refreshing taste. The elegant bitterness of the tea complemented the sweet red bean paste I love. Thank you for another day of tranquility.

When it comes to Yame, it's all about tea, especially gyokuro. There is even a phrase that says "The Land of Tea." I visited using the Fukuoka-Yame [Limited Time] Monitor Bus Round Trip for 1,300 yen from Nishitetsu Travel. It was past 12 o'clock on a weekday, and most of the customers were women. The staff will seat you at a table even if you're alone. If more customers arrive later, they will apologetically guide them to the counter. Once a table becomes available, they will move you from the counter to the table. The restaurant had a calm black interior. They served a fragrant roasted tea. It was a 20-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, and it was hot, so I knew I wanted the cold soba noodles in a large portion. I was contemplating the dessert menu when the staff kindly said, "You can decide later." So, I started with the cold soba noodles in a large portion. It came with local chicken onigiri and a small dish of local vegetables. There were also displayed pottery items to admire while waiting. The cold soba noodles in a large portion cost 880 yen including tax, and the local chicken onigiri, mapo tofu, and more arrived. I started with the soba noodles. There was ice underneath, so you could enjoy it chilled. The dipping sauce was slightly strong, and the soba noodles had a stronger tea aroma than expected, making it quite flavorful. The local chicken onigiri was especially delicious with a prominent burdock flavor. The staff kindly accommodated a customer's request to take out only the onigiri as they were full. For dessert, I had "Azuki and Matcha Ice Cream with Sipping Tea" for 660 yen. Sipping tea was new to me. It's also known as "droplet tea" or "sipping tea" as you sip it like droplets. The staff demonstrated how to drink it while teaching me. They prepared the tea leaves in a container, brought it to me with a lid, and instructed me to add the right amount of hot water after finishing each round. Finally, you eat the tea leaves with the ponzu sauce. This luxurious way of drinking tea was a first for me. The tea had a soft yet clear taste with a delightful tea aroma spreading in my mouth. It was an amazing experience. The matcha ice cream, white bean paste, and mochi were all delicious. Sipping the tea droplets repeatedly and finishing with the tea leaves and ponzu sauce created a different, soft taste. Being able to enjoy the ultimate way of drinking and eating was truly special.

I was looking for a place to have lunch near Yame, and I found this set in the third photo for only 660 yen. It's quite affordable, right? The portion was just right and delicious. The place is a bit small, but they have parking for about 5 cars. They also offer dessert options, so I would like to try them next time. Thank you for the meal! ♡

This is a cafe specializing in Yame tea. You can enjoy fresh Yame tea, and after extracting the tea leaves, you can also eat them because they are fresh. I was surprised at how delicious the tea leaves are. Yame tea can be a bit pricey, but here you can drink good tea at a reasonable price with the correct extraction method.

This is a café operated by "Yamebiryouen Seicha," which has won the title of the best tea in Japan and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award. Located next to the direct sales store, you can enjoy sweets such as matcha ice cream and shiratama dumplings along with Yame tea. Although the café is the main focus, they also offer a small lunch menu from 12-2 pm. I ordered the "Tea Soba with Local Chicken Onigiri and Seasonal Side Dishes" for 600 yen (excluding tax). It is a limited quantity item. The tea soba, made with plenty of tea, has a deep blue-green color. The side dishes in the set have a homey and gentle flavor. The local chicken onigiri is softly and delicately shaped. It's also nice that you can enjoy delicious hojicha for free. I also ordered the limited "Mini Shiratama Cream Matcha Ice Cream," which made my lunchtime very satisfying. 【Name】Yame Tea Café Bunku 【Address】269-2 Ofukuku, Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture 【Business Hours】11:00-17:00 *Please confirm 【Closed】Wednesdays, year-end and New Year holidays *Please confirm Blog post♪ 【Hakata Onna Bushi】 【Fukuoka】Tea Soba Lunch & Japanese Dessert♪ @ Yame Tea Café Bunku http://hakata.livedoor.biz/archives/2166977.html

Next to the direct sales store is a cafe (^-^)! When I went to the cafe, it was closed today... I guess many places are closed on December 31st. They kindly offered me tea and snacks at the direct sales store instead. The tea they brewed was really delicious, and even though I was disappointed, I said I would definitely come back! I bought the following items: - Chiffon cake 756 yen (frozen, but when thawed, it was fluffy and had a nice matcha flavor) - Daifuku tea 1080 yen (brewing tea is important, I tried to brew it like they did at the store, but it didn't turn out well) - Matcha crunch (I gave this as a souvenir, so I didn't eat it, but it looked delicious) I didn't give a rating this time since I only bought items from the direct sales store. I hope to visit the cafe next time!

After the Higanbana festival at the Rokuri Tanada in Hoshino Village, Yame City, I decided to visit the Yame Tea Cafe Bunku that caught my eye on the way there. The cafe is located inside the Yame Bimidorien Seicha direct sales store, and first I was served some delicious tea by the staff at the store. The Yame tea was really tasty. As I looked around the store, the staff asked if I would like to sit at the counter, and I agreed. The prices were very reasonable. My husband ordered the lunch set which included tea soba, two kashiwa onigiri, and two small side dishes for 500 yen. Since I was still full from the previous meal, I opted for a set of cold green tea and traditional Japanese sweets. The interior of the cafe had a nice folk art style atmosphere. However, the customers seemed a bit bored for some reason. We waited for about 20 minutes. The tea will be served shortly, the staff said. After another 5 minutes, the tea finally arrived. But I couldn't help but notice the dirty dishes of the previous customers right in front of me at the counter. I kindly asked them to clear it away. We waited for about 40 minutes. Is it still not ready? I wanted to ask, but since the customers who entered before us hadn't received their orders either, it seemed like our order wasn't forgotten. After about 50 minutes, we were finally served. My husband's lunch was average, but my yokan and green tea were really delicious. By the time we were leaving, the customers who arrived after us were informed that it might take a bit longer. I wish I had heard that too. It was a mystery why it took so long in the kitchen until the end.

The lunch was 540 yen until 2 pm. I was glad I made it in time to order. They only have desserts besides lunch. The cold or hot tea soba with local chicken rice, and a side dish included at this price is cheap!

This is my second lunch of the day, following the udon at Yu-udon in Kurume. Heading south from Kurume, I arrived in Yame, but where exactly is this place? I went to a cafe called "Bunpuku" located along Route 84, run by a tea shop called Miroku-en. The lunch time is until 2 pm, and I made it just in time, sliding in due to the rain. The cafe has a space for selling tea and sweets, and a seating area designed like an old folk house. The lunch menu includes tea soba, chicken rice ball, and side dishes, all for a reasonable price of ¥540. I ordered the lunch and the kind middle-aged lady said it would take a bit of time. After about 15 minutes, the tea soba lunch arrived, shining brightly with its emerald green color. The taste of the tea soba was average, maybe made with dried noodles. The dipping sauce was similar to homemade noodle broth, nicely coating the noodles with a good texture. The portion was generous for the price. The chicken rice ball was warm, fluffy, with a pleasant aroma of burdock and a slightly sweet flavor. The side dishes included a cold chicken cutlet and a warm vegetable and shiitake mushroom sauce, both well-seasoned. The chicken cutlet had a slightly strong broth flavor, while the mushroom sauce was delicious with a rich shiitake flavor. The tea served in a teapot was hojicha, subtly sweet and enjoyable. I ended up drinking several cups. Overall, the meal was satisfying and reasonably priced. The cafe also sells tea and original matcha ice cream, making it a recommended spot for tea lovers. I heard that the number of lunches is limited, so sometimes they may finish before 2 pm or still serve until closing time.
