I had dinner at Umeda Food Hall after the Hanshin Tigers won, so I got 8 times the S points. I had a miso katsu set meal, which came with a special offer of beer for only 180 yen. It had been a while since I had miso katsu, and it was delicious. You could also change the sauce if you wanted. I topped the cabbage with dressing myself. Maybe it was the beer, but I ended up feeling quite full. The side dish was a tasty meat miso with a strong ginger flavor. There were Chiikawa collaborations all over the food hall because of the Hanshin Electric Railway, and I got a Chiikawa novelty item with my order of a qualifying menu item.

I visited Yabaton in the North Building Food Hall of Hankyu Umeda Third Avenue. It had been about 10 years since I last visited Yabaton in Nagoya, so I had completely forgotten the taste. I arrived a little earlier than the lunchtime on Friday, around 11:30, and the food hall was about 70% full. There were already 2 groups waiting in front of us at Yabaton. I ordered the Roast Pork Set (¥1,310) and a draft beer, which was priced at ¥180 for Tigers' "something". I wanted to try the famous Waraji set, but I decided on the Roast Pork set as I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it. The taste was delicious, but it wasn't particularly amazing. The portion size was generous, and I ended up leaving some food uneaten. I don't think I will go back again.

☆彡I found Yabaton at the underground food court in Hankyu Sanbangai. I have been to their stores in Nagoya a few times before, but this time it felt different from just a touristy tonkatsu specialty shop. It was more of a novelty experience to savor. I suddenly felt like trying it again after a long time, so I stopped by the food court. I paid in advance and waited for the bell to ring. They poured the sauce right in front of me, which was a nice touch, but I only took a photo of the end result without recording a video.
I ordered the Waraji Tonkatsu set meal (1,900 yen). It came with a mix of miso sauce and regular sauce. The tonkatsu was crispy and freshly fried, with a generous amount of sauce on top. I thought the use of vegetable oil for frying would make it lighter, but it still felt heavy with a lingering greasiness due to inadequate oil draining. The miso sauce was mild and easy to eat, but the regular sauce was too strong and didn't quite match. I should have just ordered the miso sauce alone instead of the mix.
At 1,900 yen, it was quite pricey. It might be good for those seeking novelty, but I felt it was a bit overpriced. Thank you for reading until the end. Your likes, saves, and follows are very encouraging. If you like, please give me a click! I also have an Instagram account @ginjirou.star. Feel free to check it out! ===========

Visited the food court alone. I had the option of choosing between the straw sandal cutlet set and the loin cutlet, but I went with the loin cutlet. I decided to drizzle sesame and shiso dressing on only one-third of it, to enjoy different flavors. Mustard was also provided on the side. It did not disappoint with its delicious taste. I'm grateful that I could enjoy it without having to go all the way to Nagoya!

I heard that Yabaton, a famous restaurant from Nagoya, also has a branch in Umeda, so I decided to visit. It is located to the right after entering the food court in Hankyu 3rd Avenue, and there is also a water server nearby, making it convenient. This time, I ordered the miso katsu set meal. It was my first time trying miso katsu, as I had never eaten it with anything other than the usual sauce before, so the taste was refreshing. Personally, I found the regular sauce more delicious, but when you mix the miso sauce with the cabbage side dish, even those who don't like vegetables can easily enjoy eating it.

Sometimes I crave it. It was inside the Hankyu food court, so I was looking around at other shops for lunch while thinking about whether to go for a hearty meat dish, udon, or Asian cuisine. But in the end, I decided to go for miso katsu. I'm not sure if Kansai people are unfamiliar with miso culture, or if I just personally don't like miso flavor, but the taste always falls slightly short of my expectations. It's not that it's not delicious, but it just doesn't exceed my expectations. You could say it's reliable. Or maybe, if I have expectations, then perhaps I am feeling let down. Will miso pork cutlet eventually become popular in Kansai, or will it take some time for the generation that cares about miso cutlets to be replaced? The battle of tonkatsu continues.

I had the tonkatsu set meal for 1300 yen at the food court in Hankyu Sanbangai. There are other tempting restaurants here, but I suddenly felt like having Yabaton after many years. I never expected to enjoy Nagoya's taste in Osaka!! The miso sauce on the tonkatsu was more flavorful than I thought, and I couldn't wait to take a bite. It was delicious! The tonkatsu itself had the right thickness and tenderness, very satisfying. Miso sauce is really tasty! It goes so well with rice, right?! It had a good amount of fat and a decent size, so I was very satisfied! Tonkatsu goes so well with rice! I also enjoyed the white rice. It may cost a bit, but it's great to be able to enjoy Nagoya's specialty so easily! Thank you Yabaton for the wonderful meal! Grazie!

Since I am from Nagoya, I love miso dishes. Of course, I also like miso katsu. I didn't know there were four Yabaton restaurants in Osaka, but I went to the one in Hankyu Umeda Station B2F food court. I was torn between the Waraji Tonkatsu, but I chose the slightly more modest Rosu Tonkatsu set meal for 1300 yen. The miso katsu from Yabaton, which I hadn't had in a while, was delicious. However, I felt like the miso was a bit light compared to when I had it in Nagoya.

I had lunch at Yabaton in Hankyu Sanbangai's food court. Sometimes I crave miso katsu, and Yabaton is definitely delicious. I think the last time I had it was about 4 years ago in Tokyo.
- Rosu Katsu set meal: 1,400 yen (tax included)
When my buzzer went off, I went to pick up my order and they poured the miso sauce right in front of me. It was a nice touch. The tonkatsu was crispy and having the miso sauce poured right in front of me helped maintain some crispiness while also having a good moistness. The miso sauce was delicious. The side dish was also nice. The rice was tasty as well. It didn't make me overly full, but the portion felt satisfying. I saw they had waraji tonkatsu as an option, but considering my age, I decided against it.
- Cola (S): 100 yen
I felt like having some carbonated drink, so I chose cola. The large size was on sale for 230 yen instead of the usual 380 yen, but I don't drink that much so I went with the small size. The service was good and polite.
One small thing I wish they would improve is that the chopstick bag was made of plastic. It's a minor detail, but it would be better for sustainability if they switched to paper bags sooner rather than later.

I visited the restaurant "Yabaton Osaka Hankyu Sanbangai Store" for dinner on this day. It is located in a food court in the Hankyu Sanbangai, which is known for its wide variety of high-quality dining options. I never expected to find Yabaton in a food court. The pricing is quite high for a food court, targeting working professionals rather than families. I ordered the "Miso Hirez Katsu Don for 1,400 yen (tax included)" instead of the popular straw-wrapped tonkatsu. It had been a while since I last had Yabaton, and it was still delicious. The balance of sweetness and umami in the miso sauce is truly reminiscent of the authentic Nagoya flavor. It may be a bit pricey for lunch, but for dinner, it's worth it! Thank you for the meal!

When I used to visit Yabaton when I went to Nagoya, now I can enjoy it at the food court in Sanbamichi. It's convenient to be able to eat there when I don't have much time before or after watching a play at the Nagoya Theater. The basic tonkatsu is prepared in large quantities, and while I don't really feel the homemade or meticulous touch, it is delicious and makes me want to eat it again. Thank you as always, I will definitely come back.

Umeda Food Hall!! This was my first visit, and I had heard about it from people's reviews. There are many different shops here, but the one that caught my eye was Nagoya's famous miso katsu restaurant, Yabaton. I don't often go to Nagoya, but I was craving miso katsu. I ended up choosing the Waraji Tonkatsu set with two pieces for 1,800 yen. One piece was topped with sauce and the other with Haccho Miso sauce. The tonkatsu was thin and crispy, easy to eat without feeling heavy. I alternated between the two sauces and enjoyed every bite. The size of the Waraji Tonkatsu set was huge, with two pieces equaling one foot. Umeda Food Hall has many exciting shops, and I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The representative dish of Nagoya cuisine at the Hankyu Sanban-gai food court-like plaza, the Waraji Teishoku, offers a choice between miso sauce only or a half-and-half option with miso sauce and tonkatsu sauce. The meat is tender with a good amount of fat, providing a sweet richness from the fat. The Waraji Teishoku costs 1800 yen (tax included).

I had always wanted to visit this restaurant after hearing about it from an acquaintance in Nagoya. It is located inside a food court. I ordered a set meal with two pieces of miso katsu and sauce katsu. When the dishes arrived, I was worried if I could finish them, but surprisingly, I managed to eat it all! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Last year, I thought UMEDA Food Hall was suitable for COVID-19 measures so I went to eat there. However, during this recent state of emergency, most of the restaurants did not serve alcohol all day (even the restaurants in Nishinomiya Gardens did not serve alcohol). I ordered the Rosu Tonkatsu set for 1300 yen and a draft beer for 450 yen. The sauce that was generously poured over the tonkatsu reminded me of the miso katsu sauce I had in Nagoya, which I remember being more miso-flavored. The tonkatsu meat itself was not bad, but overall, I felt that the prices were high for what was offered. The Hire Tonkatsu set for 1800 yen seemed especially expensive.

The other day, I was able to go to a ramen shop that I thought was impossible to return in just 1 hour for lunch, so I decided to try another one with a high hurdle! However, miracles don't happen consecutively (laughs). Even after 1 PM, there was still a line, so I gave up and headed to the food court at Sanban-gai North Building nearby. I found a place that I had been curious about because the miso stewed udon, a Nagoya specialty, was delicious last time! While other shops had some lines, this one had no line at all ♡ I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the number one popular dish, the straw sand tonkatsu set for 1800 yen, was quite expensive! As a first-timer and a commoner, I opted for the second place, the recommended "miso katsu don." After ordering, I was called in by a buzzer in 5-6 minutes. The regular-sized miso katsu don came with a generous portion of cabbage, miso soup, a side dish (simmered dried radish), and pickles. The miso soup was lukewarm with a hint of green onions and seaweed. The main miso katsu don had too much miso sauce, making it too sweet and overpowering, lacking balance with the rice. The tonkatsu was surprisingly thin, making it soft and easy to eat, even without teeth. The cabbage for palate cleansing could have been more fresh and finely cut for a softer texture. Adjusting the amount of miso sauce to taste might be the best option (laughs). For 1300 yen, this is risky! It could be a good pun material though, so here you go ===========

The food court was stylish and comfortable, with a variety of appealing options. My companion went for a giant steak set, while I chose the miso cutlet and enjoyed a Kirin beer. The dining area was bright and clean, with individual spaces separated by acrylic panels for a sense of safety. The miso cutlet was incredibly tender and flavorful, with a rich miso sauce that was delicious. The tomato salad was a refreshing summer treat, with frozen tomatoes that were crunchy and flavorful. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience, especially in the midst of the extended state of emergency in Osaka.

I had lunch at Umeda Food Hall on the B2 floor of Hankyu Sanban-gai. First, I placed my order and paid at the counter, then found a seat and waited. I ordered the pork loin cutlet set meal. Let's dig in! The tonkatsu was moist and covered in miso sauce. The pork fat and unique miso flavor were not bad. It had a good taste that went well with the rice. The size of the cutlet was decent as well. However, the pickles were in poor condition, very dry and almost sticky. It was hard to eat. I wonder if they didn't realize it was bad before serving it. Anyway, thank you for the meal! The pickles were disappointing, but the taste of the miso cutlet itself was good. Overall, the menu gives off a pricey impression, so the cost performance may be low in this area.

#waraji miso katsu set meal#delicious❗Sweet pork with miso sauceMarch 2021Hello❗I am more of a Komeda fan than Starbucks or Tully's. Today's lunch is from "Yabaton," a miso katsu specialty store in Hankyu Sanbangai food hall. I parked my car at the Hankyu building's parking lot and went down to the basement. The lunch I had was the ⭐waraji miso katsu set meal for ¥1800. It's big❗Sesame and shichimi sprinkled on top~! One bite❗Delicious~ It has a sweet and rich miso sauce flavor with tender pork. So tasty❤ I really like it❗ Yesterday's sauce katsu don was also delicious, but the sweetness of the pork fat can be tasted in this miso sauce. It's so good❗ This really makes you want to eat more. "Yabaton is amazing❗" It was delicious❗ Thank you for the meal~(^-^)/

I came to Umeda to eat miso katsu, but ended up discovering a fascinating menu item. What caught my eye was the fin katsu sandwich. It was a bit of a challenge, but it turned out to be a great choice. The slightly toasted and moist sandwich bread was surprising. When I took a bite, I was amazed. The soft bread texture hit my teeth and then reached the katsu... which was incredibly tender. I've never had such a tender katsu before. The mustard was mild, but it didn't detract from the main flavor. Although this place specializes in Nagoya's famous miso katsu, the fin katsu sandwich was delicious. Nagoya specialty miso katsu restaurant Yabaton, Osaka Hankyu Sanbangai branch.
