Since eating Hakata Mizutaki in the original Hakata, I haven't had it. Hakata Mizutaki, eaten with chicken broth, is seasoned with rock salt and ponzu to create your preferred flavor. It's simple, but you can enjoy the flavors of the ingredients and it's delicious. Today, I ordered the "Mizutaki Hanamigodon" for 2200 yen. I want to eat both Mizutaki and the reputedly delicious Oyakodon, so it's perfect for my greedy self. I was guided to a private room in the restaurant. There is a call bell on the table, so when you decide on your order, the staff will come to you. After a while, ponzu and rock salt arrived first. I heard that the ponzu for Hanamidori is quite acidic, but it wasn't that strong, just right. And three small side dishes and chicken broth. I added a little rock salt to the chicken broth to season it. It's delicious even without it, but it's even more delicious with it. The three small side dishes were simmered zuri with plenty of umami, chicken thigh meat in a light sauce, and simmered chicken and potatoes. All of them are perfect as sake accompaniments. And then the main tray. The piping hot bubbly Hakata Mizutaki and the irresistibly appetizing premium Oyakodon. It even outshines the lunch emperor's karaage. As expected, I started with the piping hot Mizutaki. I picked up vegetables and chicken, poured them into a bowl with ponzu, and added some green onions and yuzu pepper. The chicken was tender and delicious. The vegetables also go well with ponzu. However, if I may make one suggestion, I would like the chicken bones to be removed from the beginning. And the Oyakodon. The slightly red-tinged, deliciously gooey egg. I rescued it with lotus root and put it in my mouth, but the white part couldn't fit in my mouth and spilled out. It's a bit uncouth, but a happy accident. So delicious♫ This gooey texture is irresistible♫ By the way, when you finish eating this Oyakodon, you can have a second serving of white rice and Ikamentaiko, so you can have as much rice as you want♫ Oh, I almost forgot about the karaage. It's quite sizable, so it's satisfying to eat. Very juicy thigh meat. It shouldn't have been left for the latter part of the meal. Lastly, the homemade Hanami egg pudding. Rich and incredibly delicious. The "Mizutaki Hanamigodon" for 2200 yen is a great deal with plenty of dishes♫
