A friend recommended that I try the Draking by Itoking, and I was lucky to find it in the basement of Mitsukoshi. The size is slightly smaller than regular dorayaki, with a classy light brown color. The packaging looks simple, just wrapped in plastic with a sticker. However, it is incredibly delicious! The chewy dorayaki dough wraps around a perfect balance of fresh cream, red bean paste, and a whole strawberry. I tried the hojicha, salted vanilla, and plain flavors, and all of them were amazingly good. Sometimes they sell out, so it's worth trying to find them. I found a shop I wanted to go to in Lassic, so I went shopping there. While shopping, I found Itokin in the Mitsukoshi basement and wanted to try their Doraking. Since Fukuoka Amaou is also famous, I wanted to try it. I bought one and sat at a nearby table. Surprisingly, it had a light taste and didn't have much strawberry flavor, which was disappointing. I watched the Hakata Dontaku parade for a while on the sidewalk, but there didn't seem to be any rules, just a free march. After about an hour, I left. The most interesting part of the festival seems to be the participants. There were many food stalls set up in a nearby park, as well as various stages set up throughout the city. I was overwhelmed in many ways. The weather was perfect, which was fortunate for everyone involved.

When I went to the Tenjin store, they hadn't restocked the fresh dorayaki, so I decided to pass. But when I went to Mitsukoshi, they had Ito King dorayaki! Luckily, Mitsukoshi offers a 10% discount for shareholders, so I got the Doraking fresh salted vanilla dorayaki for 410 yen. The salted flavor caught my attention, so I decided to try this one. It's not your typical dorayaki shape, more like Sasaya Iori's. The moist texture of the cake with a hint of salt, along with cream, red bean paste, and a large whole Amaou strawberry, made it irresistible. I really wanted to take some home as a souvenir, but the expiration date was the same day...

This year, the season for fresh strawberry dorayaki has arrived. It contains a whole strawberry, cream, red bean paste, salted vanilla. My favorite is the Hakata strawberry golden dorayaki. I received it after following their Twitter account. It is big, moist, and delicious.
