Biei Town Area. Located a 7-minute walk from Biei Station, this was the shop I was most looking forward to. Just like at the famous bakery Pan Hyakumeiten, you can try the same bread here. The bread is incredibly delicious, so I highly recommend it. Of course, I had planned to buy some bread, but they were also selling a Saturday-only baguette, so after discussing with my wife, we decided to get the baguette. We bought a 52cm baguette for 300 yen. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but compared to the bread, I was disappointed. It was just average. It's a limited edition item, so they might still be working on it. The Biei Milk Bread for 400 yen resembles a panettone in appearance, making it hard to decide if it's a panettone or a milk bread, but after trying it, it's definitely not a panettone. It's a milk bread. Panettone is naturally more delicious. The Biei Red Bean Bun for 250 yen is packed with red bean paste! The taste is a subtle sweetness that brings out the flavor of the red beans. It's strange how I get tired of sweet red bean paste, but I realized that adding the right amount of sweetness is necessary. Compared to past items I've tried, the taste is just average and there's a big difference in quality. Overall, it's clear that it's not about bean bread, corn bread, or any other bread, but it's all about "bread." Let's make sure not to make the same mistake. Thank you for the meal.

Located in a corner of the agricultural factory and warehouse area, Biei Senka stands out among the other establishments. It includes a restaurant called Asperge, a food and vegetable souvenir shop, a take-out dessert shop, and a bakery. The famous corn bread from the Chitose Airport branch is not sold here. The Biei Milk Bread costs 400 yen, which may seem a bit high for bread but reasonable for a cake. Upon tasting it, the experience is worth every yen. The bread is incredibly soft, and the homemade buttercream made with pasture-raised farm butter is generously sandwiched inside. The buttercream is fluffy like mousse, with a condensed sweetness reminiscent of condensed milk and a hint of saltiness rather than buttery. This delicious buttercream is like no other. It is even better than Échiré butter. The shop also sells delicious souvenirs, and the take-out sweets from the shop are made by Asperge. Despite the unfriendly attitude of the staff, which made me hesitant to purchase anything, the Biei Wheat Workshop is truly remarkable. I may have missed out on something special by not buying anything.

Biei Senka is a bakery located in Biei. I decided to stop by after seeing it in a guidebook and it looked delicious. This was our lunch on the last day of our trip. They don't have a wide variety of breads. I bought three types: Biei red bean bun, Biei black bean bun, and Biei milk bun. The Biei red bean bun is filled with a lot of red bean paste. The cross-section is almost all red bean paste, with the bread dough wrapped around the red bean paste, rather than the red bean paste being stuffed inside the bread. It's delicious. The Biei black bean bun has black beans mixed into both the surface and inside of the bread. It's very bean-y. The Biei milk bun is surprisingly large, about the size of a child's face. The mildly sweet milk cream is refreshing and tasty. Three buns cost 900 yen. It's great value for money.

There is a bakery in Biei Town. I bought an anpan for 250 yen and ate it in the car on my way to Sounkyo. The anpan was thick with plenty of filling, and the filling itself was delicious. The bread was also good.

Next to Biei Senka, there is a bakery that everyone who visits Biei must stop by, and I was no exception. I arrived a little after 3 pm, but unfortunately, the black bean bread was sold out. I ended up buying an anpan and two butter rolls. The anpan cost around 250 yen, and the butter rolls were 2 for 250 yen, if I remember correctly. The anpan was filled with a generous amount of sweet red bean paste. The thin crust was entirely filled with the paste, making it more like a red bean paste bun than a bread. The sweetness was mild, not overly sticky, and easy to eat. Despite its heaviness, I could eat as much as I wanted. As for the butter rolls, they were exquisite. I warmed them up a bit in the toaster and took a bite. The butter seeped out, giving off a delicious aroma and salty flavor. I have never had such a luxurious and delicious butter roll before. I can only imagine how tasty the black bean bread, which was sold out, must have been. I wanted to try it! I don't know when I'll be able to come back again, but I definitely want to try it again! Thank you for the delicious meal!

I lined up since morning because I wanted to eat bread! Due to the season, about 10 groups of people were already waiting 30 minutes before opening. The bread made with delicious wheat was satisfying. The milk bread was also delicious with a refreshing milk cream. Overall, the bread had a soft and gentle atmosphere with a stylish touch. It felt natural and kind. I was looking forward to the rusk, but I personally prefer the crunchy texture of a certain famous rusk shop. It might not be suitable for souvenirs because it tends to break. Thank you for the meal.

There is a bakery in Biei, Hokkaido. It is located within the "Biei Sengaku" where Biei brands gather. It was my first visit in a few years. As usual, it was popular with a line of 4 to 5 people. On this day, I purchased the following items:
1. Biei Yumechikara Shokupan (white bread) sliced into 5 pieces - 486 yen
I actually preferred the unsliced version, but only the sliced version was being sold. I hope they also sell the unsliced version. The crumb was chewy and flavorful.
2. Biei Raclette - 400 yen
There was plenty of raclette cheese.
3. Biei Butter Rolls (2 pieces) - 250 yen
These butter rolls may seem simple, but they are very delicious. It is evidence of using high-quality butter.
In general, I feel that Hokkaido bakeries have high quality. Perhaps it is because they fully utilize the power of ingredients such as wheat, butter, and milk.

There were quite a few people lined up before 10 o'clock. Last time, I went around 11 o'clock and everything I wanted was sold out. However, even the simple bread I bought was delicious, so this time I went early because I wanted to buy raclette and cream bread. The menu I ordered: - Biei Raclette - Biei Milk Bread - Butter Roll The butter roll was very delicious with plenty of butter and a nice texture. Although I thought raclette would be the main dish this time, the cheese was only on the outside and not as much as I expected. The milk bread was soft with plenty of milk cream. It was tasty but too sweet for me. However, the cream was delicious. I compared them and I like the butter roll the most! I will definitely go back to buy more. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant without much thought and noticed a delicious smell as I waited in line. When I looked at the menu, I saw options like raclette and anpan, which I like. However, when I entered the store, they were already sold out! Only items like toast and other sweet bread were left. It seems that popular items sell out quickly, so if you want to try something specific, it's best to go around 9 am. I ended up ordering a butter roll (to go) and it was amazing. It had a great wheat flavor, was soft yet firm, and very tasty. I'm sure everything else on the menu would be delicious too! Nothing was left by 10:30 am, so next time I'll go closer to opening time. It was delicious! Thank you!

It's been a while since I visited Biei, this time during the winter off-season when the neighboring Asperge was also closed. Instead of the usual place, I found baked goods at Biei Sengaku nearby. Since I went in the afternoon, there weren't many options available, but I got a butter roll and black bean bread to go. The butter roll was delicious as always.

Visited in December 2022 during a trip to Sapporo. The bakery at New Chitose Airport always has long lines for freshly baked bread, so I decided to rent a car and drive 150km from Sapporo to the main store. The building had a modern touch and the taste of the bread was impressive. Due to heavy snowfall, the store was empty with only a few locals visiting. I purchased Butter Rolls (2 for 250 yen), Anpan (250 yen), Black Bean Bread (250 yen), Milk Bread (400 yen), and Raclette (400 yen). All the bread had a satisfying volume and a rich, substantial taste. The ingredients were all locally sourced from Hokkaido. The prices ranging from 250 to 400 yen seemed quite reasonable. It's no wonder there are long lines at the airport bakery.

[Store exclusive] Wheat black bean bread made from Biei-grown black beans and anpan made from the highest quality red beans! Biei's black bean bread: The beans are plentiful and the sweetness of the black beans is not overpowering. There are plenty of black beans both on top and inside the bread! It's delicious with a nice bean texture. Biei's anpan: The bread dough is thin. It's filled with plenty of red bean paste. It's not too sweet and very delicious. It's great that there's a lot of red bean paste! The anpan is shaped like a big rice ball or a round and fluffy Mount Fuji, with a rich red bean flavor that's not overly sweet.

"Beige Milk Bread (400 yen) A super creamy bread with a fluffy texture and a milk cream that disappears in your mouth, topped with powdered sugar. The cream is light and the sweetness is subtle, with a hint of milk fragrance. It offers a new eating experience that I've never had before. Beige Raclette (400 yen) A delicious bread with a strong cheese aroma and intense salty flavor. Beige Butter Roll (250 yen) A buttery roll with a juicy texture, generously filled with butter. It remains delicious even after some time. I also bought some other items that seemed promising, but the prices are quite high for a tourist spot."

I had a light lunch at Biei Sengyo and bought some bread like bean bread, butter rolls, and sandwich bread to take home. My son chose a baguette again. Last time he said it was good and ate a whole one by himself. This time, I tried a bit and it was indeed delicious. The black bean bread with lots of beans inside was surprisingly tasty. It might be even better than the bean bread from Chitose. The butter roll looked plain but turned out to be the most delicious.

I bought anpan and mamepan. There was a note saying you can buy up to 5 pieces of each kind per person, but I wonder if there are people who buy that many? The bread is small but packed with ingredients. The anpan is filled with a generous amount of sweet bean paste, making it dense. It was delicious. Bread made with wheat from Tokachi is naturally delicious, right?

◎Overview
A bakery located a short walk from JR Biei Station. It is a bread factory attached to the Biei Senka, an antenna shop in Biei, and is known for its bread made with local Hokkaido ingredients, attracting long queues every day.
◎Notes
- I purchased one item this time. I bought the "Biei Anpan."
- The Biei Anpan is one of the popular items at the store, featuring a mountain-shaped visual. Not only is wheat used, but also Biei-grown "Shumari" red beans, giving a rustic sweetness to the ample red bean filling.
- I stopped by while visiting the restaurant "Asperge" on the same premises, and I was surprised by the unexpectedly high level of completion of the bread, which is particular about using Hokkaido ingredients. I heard that the branch at New Chitose Airport has been selected as one of the best 100 stores, so I would like to visit there next time.
◎Duration of Visit: Approximately 10 minutes
◎Cost: ¥250 (Biei Anpan)

The bread sold at the shops inside New Chitose Airport is famous, but I bought Milk Bread and Raclette Bread at this store in Biei Michi no Eki. The bread, made with great care, shows the high quality of the ingredients, but honestly, I felt unsure about the overall balance and cost performance. It might be difficult for everyday use. Well, I won't know until I try other bread as well. I really wanted to try the popular Corn Bread at the airport~ Thank you for the meal.

I visited a popular bakery in Biei, Hokkaido. I lined up in front of the store and bought "Biei Raclette (400 yen)", "Biei Bread Rolls (2 pieces for 250 yen)", and "Biei Milk Bread (400 yen)". The Raclette had a wonderful cheese aroma and a crispy texture. I forgot to take a photo ( ; ; ). The Bread Rolls were soft and fluffy with a delicious buttery flavor, and I finished them in no time. The Biei Milk Bread was filled with plenty of homemade butter cream (60g), which was so tasty and I was glad I bought it. All the bread was of high quality. There is a large covered rest area right next to the store with many tables and chair sets, so you can enjoy your food in a relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely visit again when I come to Biei. Thank you very much!
