I stopped by a shop while walking around the Shiretoko Five Lakes. It was combined with a souvenir shop. I tried the Cloudberry Soft Serve for 350 yen. It had a sweet and sour taste and was easy to eat. It didn't have any outstanding features, but it was said to be a limited edition in Shiretoko. In addition to ice cream, they had various other menu items available.

I tried a deer meat burger, grape juice, and a Hamanasu dorayaki. The deer meat was similar to beef with no strong flavor. What I really liked was the Hamanasu dorayaki! It's one of four dorayaki flavors, and the cream was delicious. It felt like ice cream, maybe because it was kept cold in the fridge. If I visited in winter, I would have bought some as souvenirs.

The koke-momo fruit, grown in the cold temperatures of the high mountains, truly embodies the blessings of the Shiretoko mountain range! Oh, the World Heritage site of Shiretoko is a must-visit for its breathtaking views! Although I wanted to fully enjoy the Shiretoko Pass Observatory and Rausu from the Shiretoko Crossroad opening ceremony, the postponement will be a delight for the next Shiretoko drive! During my trip to Eastern Hokkaido, I had this soft serve ice cream made from coral honeysuckle after exploring the Shiretoko Goko lakes. It was a hot day, almost like summer, and I had been walking for nearly 2 hours, so I was sweating a lot. The inside of the shop was cool with air conditioning, and they offered delicious local cuisine from Shiretoko. I decided to try the coral honeysuckle soft serve ice cream since it looked refreshing. It had a beautiful light pink color and a subtle fragrance. The milk was tasty, so the ice cream was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Hokkaido, Shiretoko Peninsula, about 20 minutes by car from Utoro, Chishoko Goko Rest House. Located in Iwaobetsu, Shari-cho, Shari-gun, Hokkaido. This day, we visited all five lakes of Shiretoko Goko and made memories by enjoying a deer meat burger at the attached rest house. Today's order was as follows: Deer Meat Burger for 400 yen. This is a report from Hokkaido (lol). On the second day of the Shiretoko tour, the weather was generally sunny, so we went to Shiretoko Goko! It's nice to be able to easily see one of the five lakes of Shiretoko by walking on an 800m elevated walkway bridge! It's safe because there is an electric fence so bears can't climb up. I bought a Cloudberry Soft Serve Ice Cream for ¥350, which is a tourist spot price, but I couldn't resist! (lol) I ordered it in a cup, but the staff hastily put it in a cone, and when I asked for it in a cup, they lazily scooped the ice cream into it, which was disappointing. Anyway, let's take a commemorative photo! It's sweet and delicious! I want to cross the Shiretoko Pass and head to Rausu Town! Thank you for the meal.

I'm not familiar with white peaches, so I can't compare, but despite hearing that they are sour, they weren't very sour. However, the cuteness and being able to eat white peach soft serve was enough for me. It was a bit sour, but it was milky and not too strong, making it easy to eat. Thank you for the meal.

After trekking at Shiretoko Goko, we stopped by here. It's located at the entrance of Shiretoko Goko. I ordered the Cloudberry Soft Serve for 300 yen. It's a unique soft serve specific to the region. It's pink in color and has a sweet and sour taste.

I went trekking at Shiretoko Goko. Due to the bear season, I had to join a guided tour to visit all five lakes. The guide provided detailed explanations and the scenery was beautiful. On the way back, I even saw wild deer. Feeling hungry from the walk, I decided to have lunch at the rest house. I tried the venison curry for 750 yen, the meat was easy to eat with no strong taste. I also had a crowberry soft serve for 300 yen, it had a refreshing acidity similar to raspberry. It was a soft serve full of refreshing feeling.

I walked around Shiretoko Goko and it was so hot that I craved ice cream. I ran into this shop and found "Kokemomo Soft Serve," made from a local fruit in Shiretoko. It was a deep pink color, and I couldn't tell if it was peach or cherry, but it was sweet and delicious. Maybe I was just hot and anything would have tasted good, but it was somehow soothing.

I did my best and went from Hakodate to Shiretoko (^-^) My wife said, "Let's see the wild bears in nature," so we went. We walked around Shiretoko Five Lakes and then the area was closed because a bear appeared after we left (^_^;) It was both good and disappointing. We finally saw a bear while riding the shuttle bus to Kamuiwakka (^^) We had fried chicken for lunch here. It was okay, not great. I was curious about the peach soft serve ice cream, but I decided not to take the risk (laughs).

Shiretoko Nature Center is the destination for a nature walk, but unfortunately, the frequent bear sightings have affected many of the places I wanted to visit. Visit 1: Furepe Waterfall A waterfall accessible from the Shiretoko Nature Center via a walking path. However, it was closed due to the daily bear sightings. Despite being able to go on this day, there was a bear on the path! It was my first encounter with a bear, so I quietly retreated and managed to avoid it. The walking path was later closed. Visit 2: Kamuiwakka Falls Visited by a shuttle bus, this place was not affected. I purchased anti-slip socks in advance, changed into them, and entered Kamuiwakka Falls. It was warm because it's a "hot waterfall," which was quite intriguing. Everyone was exploring the waterfall on the slope with a depth of about 10 cm. Visit 3: Shiretoko Goko Visited by a shuttle bus, this place was affected. Only a part of the five lakes protected by an electric fence could be seen. Nonetheless, it was enjoyable. For lunch at the rest house, with no time for the shuttle bus, I quickly looked for a menu option and found a deer meat burger recommended by the bears. - Deer Meat Burger for 300 yen The deer meat was well masked, had no gamey taste, and had a good flavor. You can eat it outside, and enjoying a meal with this view is quite nice. The quality of this type of restaurant is totally fine, and I don't mind the Hokkaido-style service from the older ladies (laughs). I'm convinced by the bear's recommendation. In conclusion, I plan to take a few more days off next time. Hopefully, the bears will behave themselves. If not, I might opt for a cruise along the coast. Either way, I had a great time in Shiretoko. Thank you for the meal.

On the third day in Hokkaido, we traveled from Asahikawa to Shiretoko. Originally, we planned to spend the night in Abashiri and then head to Shiretoko in the evening to fully enjoy it the next day. However, I forgot that I am a rain man. The weather had been sunny so far, but starting tonight until the day after tomorrow, Shiretoko was forecasted to have rain, or rather a storm. My rain man curse seems to persist regardless of the era changing. Therefore, we decided to change our plans and explore Shiretoko today. We took the Okhotsk from Asahikawa to Abashiri without time for breakfast, and then from Abashiri to Shiretoko without lunch. By the time we finished exploring the Shiretoko Pass and the Shiretoko National Park's Five Lakes, it was already past 4 PM. When we tried to get some food at the Shiretoko Five Lakes Park Center, it had just closed. They only had peach soft serve available, so we bought it. Apparently, the peach is a high-altitude plant native to Shiretoko, similar to blueberries. It tasted more like strawberries than peaches to me. When exploring the Shiretoko Five Lakes, it is recommended to take the main route or the smaller route that allows you to actually visit the lakes, rather than the elevated walkway that is freely accessible. Although we could only take the smaller route due to heavy snow, there had been bear sightings until the previous day, so it was a bit risky walking knowing that if a bear appeared, the tour would be immediately canceled and we would have to run.

Visited for a guided tour of the Shiretoko Five Lakes. Arrived early, so had about 30 minutes before the meeting time and had lunch. The venison burger for 300 yen was particularly good, with no strong taste, just a tasty burger. The salmon frankfurter was different from regular fish sausages, but had a similar texture to a normal frankfurter with a more refreshing filling. For dessert, had the manasukokemomo soft serve for 300 yen. It was sweet and sour, and delicious! Many people were enjoying this. I recommend all of them.

On the way to Rausu, I stopped by the Shiretoko Nature Center. I wanted to visit places like Shiretoko Five Lakes, but my main purpose was to go to the hot springs in Rausu, so I just stopped for lunch. Game dishes can be found in Tokyo as well, but they are not very common, I guess that's just the way it is. I have tried deer and boar before, but I wouldn't eat them on a daily basis, I prefer other types of meat.

The deer burger and coffee set sold at the fast food stall is unique and interesting. The deer patty is slightly salty! The buns are not toasted, giving an overall lukewarm feeling. The deer's distinctive taste is subdued with spices, which may be a bit disappointing. However, this might make it more palatable for everyone.

The Coquemomo soft serve here is unbeatable, so I decided to try a new menu item. The Coquemomo float... of course it's delicious with Coquemomo on top of Coquemomo. There's no way it wouldn't be tasty. The sweetness is also just right, and I discovered a new recommended item.

Deer meat burger set with peach soda chosen. I have walked around the Shiretoko Goko, and the soda was really delicious haha. The deer meat burger also had a good portion for the price. This is highly recommended. Thank you for the meal!

This is a moss peach ice cream. You may only be able to eat it here. Although it says peach flavor, it tastes completely different. It has a sweet taste similar to a nut, allowing you to enjoy it while experiencing the nature of Shiretoko.

The deer in Shiretoko doesn't have a gamey taste. It goes well with cheese and tasted delicious.
