This is a restaurant near Godzilla Rock run by the women of the Utoro Fishing Cooperative. They serve simple seafood dishes using fresh sea urchin delivered directly from the port, including sea urchin bowls (available from early May to August). After taking an early morning bath at the secret hot spring "Kuma no Yu," I looked forward to breakfast. I arrived at 8:30 am on a weekday. The exterior of the restaurant is a small building with a quaint port town atmosphere. There were already about 5 people lined up in front of the store. The interior has a counter with 20 seats, not all of them, but you can enjoy your meal while overlooking the sea. Before entering, I had decided to order a sea urchin and salmon roe bowl, but looking around, everyone was having sea urchin bowls. Following suit, I also ordered a sea urchin bowl. On this day, it seemed that sea urchin had just arrived after a few days, as the staff mentioned, "It was hard to come by." Sea urchin availability depends on the sea conditions, and it can also sell out at later times, so caution is required. Sea Urchin Bowl (market price) was priced at 3000 yen. The sea urchin used is the highest quality Ezo Bafun sea urchin caught off the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula. It arrived in just 5 minutes. Although the menu is called a sea urchin bowl, it is served separately. The sea urchin in the wooden box is a vibrant golden color, and the white rice is topped with chopped seaweed. I started by savoring the sea urchin without adding anything. The scent of the sea and the rich umami spread throughout my mouth, instantly melting. I was moved by the taste beyond my imagination. ('∇') And the blissful moment of putting sea urchin on rice by myself is irresistible. I was so happy that my hand holding the chopsticks was shaking. The sea urchin melts with the heat of the rice. I sprinkle wasabi soy sauce on it and savor it. The luxurious time flies by. This extravagance at this price is unbeatable. In summary, they are closed during the winter season from November to mid-April. In addition to the famous sea urchin, the simple and flavorful dishes prepared by the mothers of the beach are exquisite. There may also be surprise menus featuring seasonal seafood caught on the day. Instagram@moritapan7 There are also videos available.

I have visited this restaurant a few times when touring in Utoro, but the line was always too long so I gave up. Today, however, there were only about 6 groups in line so I decided to wait. Unfortunately, due to the timing, the sea urchin fishing season had ended so I had to give up on the bowl I wanted. Since I had come all this way, I decided to try the salmon and salmon roe parent and child rice bowl for 2,000 yen. The salmon seemed to be canned flakes and the salmon roe may have been thawed from frozen. It seems that salmon fishing season is just beginning, so I came at a bad time.

I came all the way to Shari Town in Shiretoko because I really wanted to eat ikura donburi. I called ahead the day before, and they told me they open at 8:30 am and close when they run out of ingredients, so it's better to come early. I arrived at 8:20 am and there was already a line. It's really popular. My daughter and I both ordered the ikura donburi for 2000 yen. It was seriously delicious. The ikura was of course tasty, but the amount of ikura was also amazing. The bowl was quite large, filled with rice and plenty of ikura. My daughter said she wouldn't be able to eat this much if it wasn't an ikura donburi. The taste and quantity of the ikura donburi were both top-notch. It was worth coming all the way to Shiretoko. I would definitely like to come back again.

From Kitakobushi, just a short drive to Godzilla Rock Sightseeing. The parking lot is right in front of the store, so it's convenient even if you're driving a rental car. I entered the store about an hour after it opened. The sea urchin was already sold out as the fishing season has ended, so I decided to go for the three kinds of seafood bowl. Since we came all the way to Shari, salmon is a must. The salmon and salmon roe bowl was rich and creamy, with a generous 2cm serving of salmon roe.

As a reward to myself, I enjoyed a sauna in Shiretoko during summer vacation. I usually satisfy myself with breakfast at the hotel buffet, but this time I visited a famous local restaurant. I confirmed the availability of sea urchin (uni) by phone in the morning. Since it was a weekday, there was no line. After placing my order, it was served quickly. The restaurant's name suggests that the fisherwomen staff work efficiently. The sea urchin bowl is priced based on market value, but on this day, it was in the 3,000 yen range. Considering the price, I think it falls into the category of good quality. At least it is more reasonable than a certain restaurant with branches in Sapporo and based in Hakodate. However, when it comes to sea urchin, I feel one piece at a high-quality sushi restaurant is sufficient for me... Next time, I am interested in trying the ramen that seemed to be popular among the locals.

I arrived at the restaurant at 8:30 in the morning, but due to the Obon holiday period, there was a long line in front of the store. I waited for almost an hour before being able to enter. I was looking forward to having sea urchin, but unfortunately they were out of stock, so I reluctantly ordered a salmon roe bowl instead. When I tasted it, I was surprised by how sticky and rich the salmon roe was! It was the real deal... I finished it in 5 minutes. I definitely want to go back again.

[Menu] Salmon and salmon roe bowl (large size) [Price] 2,000 yen + 200 yen [Impression] Visited during a trip to Shiretoko. It was bustling with tourists during the August sightseeing season. The menu includes set meals and curry, making me feel like it's a cafeteria usually used by people from the fishing port. The salmon and salmon roe bowl is simply delicious. The sticky ikura (salmon roe) pairs well with the salmon flakes. Opting for the large size gives you a substantial amount. It was a shame that they were out of sea urchin... I hope to have a chance for a rematch someday.

We arrived on the second day in eastern Hokkaido, just in time for the 8:30 am opening. There were already several people lined up, eager to try the famous seafood bowls. The small restaurant quickly filled up as soon as it opened, with a queue forming outside. Inside, there were many signed photos of celebrities and memorable moments. The seafood bowls we ordered were exceptional in every way. Perhaps the freshness of the ingredients from the nearby port enhanced the flavors even more.

This is a restaurant located near the port in the Utoro area of Shiretoko. When I went around 12 o'clock on a weekday, there were 2 groups waiting, but I was able to enter in less than 10 minutes. I ordered a three-color bowl with salmon pickled, homemade salmon flakes, and salmon roe. I asked for a smaller portion of rice. Miso soup and pickles were included. The salmon roe was more sticky and rich in texture, rather than popping. It may depend on personal preference, but I enjoyed both. Maybe around October when salmon is in season, freshly caught salmon roe will be used, changing the taste and texture. (This is just a guess, so it may be sticky all year round). Customers kept coming in one after another, so it was a lively place where you eat quickly and leave your seat as soon as you finish. I would like to visit again at a different time.

A seafood bowl restaurant located in the Utro fishing port. It is right next to the port, and behind it is the famous North Kobushi Resort Hotel. When I arrived around 11 o'clock, there were already 4 or 5 people in line. It was a Saturday at the beginning of the summer vacation season, so there seemed to be a high percentage of tourists. Uni is offered at market price, but salmon is fixed price. I ordered the three-meal bowl with salmon sashimi, flakes, and ikura for 2200 yen. Surprisingly, many people around me ordered uni. Although I understand the desire to order uni when you come to Hokkaido for the feeling of openness, Utro fishing port is famous for salmon. Now the bowl came out quickly. The amount of rice and ikura and salmon were equally generous. This abundance was much appreciated. The salmon was not the typical salmon trout, but a light and natural-tasting salmon. Personally, I found this natural flavor more appealing, even though city dwellers may be accustomed to genetically modified salmon and ikura. I also had a good impression of the women working efficiently amidst the hustle and bustle. Surprisingly, they showed a level of agility that was even higher than city dwellers, rather than being on "country time".

After the Shiretoko cruise, we visited this highly-rated restaurant. The interior is filled with autographs of celebrities. The Uni and Ikura Donburi is priced at 3,300 yen today. We ordered this dish and it was incredibly delicious, but the ratio of Uni to Ikura was more like 3:7 instead of half and half. This was a bit disappointing, but considering the limited lunch options in Shiretoko, I think this place is a safe bet. I would definitely want to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

The fisherman's wives run this shop. I really wanted to try this seafood bowl, so I had it for lunch during my Shiretoko exploration and again for breakfast the next morning. The visuals are fantastic! And it's so affordable! The wives are so lovely! The ikura is deliciously plump! I want to eat it again!

Unfortunately, there was no sea urchin on this day, but I had the Sanman-don and it was incredibly delicious, so I am very satisfied!! Also, surprisingly, the water was delicious too! Not only the fish, but the water was also very tasty, and I was able to make good memories in Shiretoko.

Today's breakfast is at the "Utoro Gyokyo Women's Association Cafeteria" in Shari-cho, Shari-gun, Hokkaido. Located at the Utoro fishing port, the starting point for Shiretoko Nature Tours (sightseeing boats), this restaurant seems to be run by fishermen's wives. It's perfect for a meal before the 10:00 departure for the Rusa Bay route. Opening at 8:30 is a plus. The specialty seems to be the "hokke set meal (1,500 yen)", but I aimed for the "3 kinds of rice bowl (2,200 yen)". It's packed with high-quality ikura, salmon flakes, and salmon pickles. The rice is completely hidden under the toppings. The salmon flakes are in a jar, making it hard to evaluate. The thick-cut salmon pickles are three slices, almost too big for one bite. They are deliciously marinated and tender. Finally, the sea's ruby, the ikura. Surprisingly, it lacked flavor. It would have been better with a bit more soy sauce. Nevertheless, the portion size for 2,200 yen is excellent value for money. Keep up the good work, ladies!

Shiretoko is located in Utoro, Shari Town, just off the national highway from Shari Station. The restaurant is called "Fishermen's Wives Association", which is a nice name, and it is located behind the Utoro Fishermen's Cooperative. I visited on a weekday at 1 pm and there was a short line, but I got seated in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Three-Color Bowl, which arrived in about 10 minutes. The bowl consisted of three types of salmon: grilled salmon, salmon roe, and salmon sashimi. The grilled salmon was decent, the salmon roe was tasty, and the sashimi was delicious with just the right amount of marination. The sashimi truly showcased the quality of salmon from a town that is the number one in salmon catch in Japan. Although the bowl looked small, it was actually filled with a generous amount of rice, and I left feeling completely satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

It was closed for a while, but it seems to have recently reopened. I tried the most popular three kinds of rice bowl, and for this location, the menu is quite reasonable. The restaurant is old and the service is like a school cafeteria, not really a place to entertain someone, but I think it's a good place to visit with friends who get along well. Thank you for the meal.

Fresh seafood bowl at a fishing port in the Sea of Okhotsk! * Hokkaido, Shiretoko. * ☼ * ------------ * ☼ * ------------. #Utoro Fisheries Cooperative Women's Division Dining Hall. * ☼ * ------------ * ☼ * ------------. I wanted to come here! The seafood bowl at the women's division of the fisheries cooperative is nothing but delicious! I was looking forward to it as it had good reviews. As expected from a women's division, the staff are all lovely ladies, making me feel warm and cozy. I had the Three Meal Bowl for 2,200 yen, which is such a great deal! Salmon, salmon roe, grilled salmon, shredded salmon, and soy sauce-marinated salmon. The salmon roe sparkled like rubies, with large and chewy grains. The texture was firm on the outside and tender on the inside. The sliced raw salmon tasted like Lübe, with a gentle soy sauce flavor. It was so delicious! Among all the seafood bowls I had in Shiretoko (I had three), this was the freshest and most delicious. There were also many seagulls around. I would love to come back again! Opened at 8:30 am on the last day of the three-day weekend, Sunday, and arrived around 8:45 am. There were about five groups in line ahead of me. Waited for about 30 minutes to enter. Ordered the "Three Kinds of Donburi" which came with plenty of salmon roe, well-marinated salmon, and flaked grilled salmon, all of which were very delicious and quite filling for only 2,200 yen. A great deal! The marinated toppings were thick and satisfying to eat.

I arrived in Utoro around 1 pm on the first day of my Shiretoko trip, so I headed to the Utoro Fisheries Women's Association cafeteria that I had been aiming for. It's quite a unique name. It's located in the fishing port, so I imagine it's run by fishermen's wives. There were about four people waiting outside the restaurant, but we were able to enter soon. I was torn between getting the Atka mackerel set meal or the salmon and salmon roe rice bowl, but I ended up ordering the salmon and salmon roe rice bowl. Water or tea is self-service. The rice bowl arrived quite quickly. The contrast between the salmon flakes and the salmon roe was beautiful. The salmon roe was delicious with a nice texture. When I finished and went outside, there was a line of about 10 people... I had great timing - thanks for the meal!

Here at the famous Fuzenbu-san in Utro, most people probably order the Three-color Donburi. The prices seem to be inflated due to it being a tourist spot, with most dishes costing over 2000 yen. The portion size is not particularly large, but the Salmon Three-color Donburi was delicious! The location is conveniently close to the cruise port, making it a great place to eat right after a cruise.

After finishing the Shiretoko Five Lakes trekking, we had lunch at the seafood bowl in Utoro and decided to try the Utoro Fisheries Cooperative Women's Association cafeteria. Since it was past the sea urchin season, the focus was on salmon and salmon roe. I had the salmon flakes and salmon roe "salmon parent and child bowl". My husband had a three-piece assortment of soy-marinated salmon fillets. When I asked, "Can I have a beer?" I was shocked to hear, "We don't have any alcohol." It was disappointing as I had been looking forward to enjoying beer with my seafood bowl after being the designated driver in the morning. Oh well. Let's just enjoy the seafood bowl. Mmm, delicious. It was a shame I couldn't have beer, but the seafood bowl was tasty.
