This shop is located on the outskirts of Konohama Shotengai, and I decided to visit after being recommended by someone from another shop that their fried rice is delicious. However, when I tried to visit on the first weekend of Golden Week, there was a sign saying "Closed", so I finally managed to visit after Golden Week. The shop is run by the owner and his wife (I didn't confirm if it was his wife), with the owner in charge of the kitchen. On the day I visited, it was a hot day almost like summer, so I was grateful for the air conditioning in the shop. I ordered the fried rice for ¥430 and ramen for ¥230! It's amazing that ramen is only ¥230 in this day and age! While waiting for the food to be served, I watched the TV in the shop for a while. First, the fried rice was served. It was a simple fried rice with char siu, egg, onions, and a small amount of green onions, with an old-fashioned taste. It was not dry and fluffy, but rather moist with a bit of oil, well-balanced with salt and pepper, and truly nostalgic. As I was enjoying the fried rice, the ramen was served. The ramen was also simple, with char siu, bean sprouts, and green onions in a soy sauce broth. The soup was not too salty or too light, with a taste that brought back memories. The noodles were straight noodles, not the trendy ones that have become popular recently, which made me think that the owner has his own preferences for this ramen. Before I knew it, I had finished eating the fried rice, soup, and noodles. Although the times have changed from Showa to Heisei and now Reiwa, the menu here retains the goodness of Showa era in a positive way, and I felt satisfied and full after reuniting with something nostalgic. Next time, I want to visit in the evening, enjoy a dish with some beer. Thank you for the delicious Chinese food. I will visit again!
