I visited the restaurant "Unagi 4th Generation Kikukawa" located in the basement of Hilton Plaza West for the first time. I suggested this restaurant for dinner in Umeda, and everyone immediately agreed. Unagi is a beloved menu item, isn't it? The restaurant has a clean atmosphere with private rooms, table seating, and counter seating. Since I had made a reservation, there was no waiting time. Around 7 pm, more customers started to arrive. I had made a reservation for 6:30 pm on the day, but unfortunately, I was 30 minutes late due to overtime. I ordered a drink when I was on the train and rushed through the underground mall to get there. I apologize to the restaurant and everyone for making them wait without eating. This time, I ordered the specialty dish "Ichimonjuju" for 5,180 yen. When I made a reservation on Tabelog, there was a one-drink special offer. Lucky me! While enjoying a beer, the main dish of the day, the specialty Ichimonjuju, arrived. The tail that couldn't fit into the dish was so cute to me (laughs). You can choose the amount of rice as large, medium, or small for the same price. Since I didn't know the portion size, I asked for a medium. Next time, if there's beer, I think I'll be fine with a small portion! The eel was grilled crispy on the outside, tender and thick inside, with the fatty texture spreading in the mouth, maximizing the feeling of happiness! It was delicious eel without any muddy smell. Unanimously agreed that it was delicious! I was happy (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) The 300g of eel for me had a satisfying amount. I finished it, but I had no room in my stomach. There were two types of sansho pepper on the table, regular powder type and real type (used like black pepper or rock salt with a mill). The real type had a gentle aroma without any sharpness. Personally, I preferred the powder type with a strong sansho flavor that goes well with eel. - The liver sucking had a nice yuzu aroma, but some people found the liver to be not that great. - The pickled vegetables were just average as a palate cleanser. - The lotus root simmered dish, I didn't necessarily need more quantity, but comparing it to the menu photo, it seemed lacking. I started to wonder if it was cooked in-store. However, overall it was a delicious dinner, so I went home satisfied. Thank you for the feast. Thank you very much!
