Margherita pizza is cheap! The restaurant "Yakuin Pizza Sakaba" in Takasago, just a little south from the intersection of Watanabe-dori and a little off Nisseki-dori on the 2nd floor, has changed to "Yakuin Pizza Sakaba". They serve stone oven-baked pizza at 500 degrees for 90 seconds. And happy hour until 6:30 pm with drinks for 300 yen! So, I'll have a highball... and a Margherita pizza. It's 580 yen, with thin crust and a bit less cheese, but the basil aroma is nice. Gold Bar is located a little further down from the intersection of Watanabe-dori 1-chome on Nissho-dori. It used to be an Italian restaurant called Goofu on the second floor. It has a calm atmosphere with 7 tables and a counter. For lunch, they offer three types of pizzas at different prices: 800 yen, 1000 yen, and 1200 yen. I tried the Eggplant and Bacon Tomato Sauce set for 1000 yen, which came with a mini salad and a drink. I chose ginger ale, which was refreshing. The pizza was thin but chewy, with a slightly strong taste of salt in the dough. It was about 25 centimeters in size and quite filling. Since I was hungry, I finished the whole pizza! I recommend sharing with someone towards the end to enjoy different flavors. They also have a bar, so you can enjoy happy hour or have a drink during the day. Takeout for the pizza is also available. (2022.07.26) The beloved "Nishijin Pizza Shokudo," a casual pizza restaurant in Nishijin for 7 years, has relocated to a property after the closure of "IL GUFO cucina italiana tradizionale" along Nisseki Street. With a renewed focus on operating as a bar, it is now called "Yakuin Pizza Sakaba." I found myself finishing my morning plans earlier than expected, so I decided to visit before 12:00, thinking there wouldn't be a long line at that time. Upon entering the restaurant, I found a counter with 5 seats in front of the kitchen where the stone oven is located, and an area to the right with 18 seats at 8 tables. Surprisingly, there was only one other customer. The lunch menu offers sets A to C with a choice of 5 to 10 types of pizza, along with a mini salad and a drink. I opted for set B with a double cheese Margherita pizza. The salad served first was fresh and beautifully presented. The pizza, with a diameter of about 25cm, had a strong and chewy texture, possibly due to a higher proportion of strong flour. The delicious flavor of the wheat flour was prominent, and it paired well with the slightly tangy tomato sauce. It was a delightful meal.
