This is a bakery located on the basement 2nd floor of Fukuoka Mitsukoshi, near the Nanakuma Line platform. Their croissant dough is very delicious, and I often buy their Pain au Chocolat and croissants. This time, I wanted to have a light early dinner, so I used the eat-in corner. I love their Jambon Cru sandwich, which is very delicious, so I had it again on this day. It is a simple sandwich with prosciutto, lettuce, and tomato, but it has a mellow butter inside, making it simple yet flavorful and highly recommended. The French bread is crispy and fragrant, and the bread dough is also delicious. If you want to try something different, I also recommend the "Croissant Jambon Cru," which has the same fillings but is sandwiched between croissants.

I purchased a Mini Viennoiserie Assortment (Matcha) for 972 yen, which includes various types of pastries. I calculated the individual prices of the items and it seems like a slightly good deal. I tried the Matcha Scone and the Matcha Brussels Waffle from the assortment. The Matcha Brussels Waffle was rich with a strong chocolate flavor, while the Matcha Scone lacked sweetness and had a bitter matcha taste. Overall, the pastries were filling but a bit on the expensive side compared to other bakeries I have tried recently.

Second visit. A bakery located in Fukuoka Mitsukoshi. PAUL is a famous bakery chain in France. It has many branches not only in France but also overseas. I used to eat PAUL croissants in Vancouver before, but when I tried the croissants in Japan later, I wasn't as impressed. There may be some differences, such as whether they warm it up or not... I ordered a croissant, mini croissant, and canelé. Hmm, even though it's the same PAUL, the ones I had in Vancouver were definitely more delicious...

I bought some bread at PAUL for the first time in a while. I got a croissant, mini pain de mie (raisin), and a bread similar to a Pain de Campagne with high hydration (forgot the official name). The next morning, I reheated and enjoyed them. The croissant from PAUL, which I hadn't had in a while, felt quite light. I thought it could have had a bit more buttery aroma. The small raisin bread made with pain de mie dough had a subtly sweet flavor that paired well with the raisins, and it had a moist texture that was delicious. The bread similar to Pain de Campagne had a light taste and I thought it would be good for making sandwiches. Thank you for the meal~

Located in a corner of the department store basement, PAUL offers a wide variety of delicious pastries, sandwiches, and baked goods. They have a seating area, making it a great option for lunch. This time, I will be getting a croissant sandwich to go. The prices are a bit on the higher side, as buying two croissant sandwiches ended up costing over 1000 yen.

In France, there is a Christian festival called Epiphany around January 6th, and it is common to eat Galette des Rois at that time. In recent years, its popularity has been increasing in Japan as well, with French pastry shops and shops offering authentic French bread starting to serve it! The taste of PAUL's authentic Galette des Rois is delicious, with the sweetness of the almond cream inside the pie crust being my favorite. PAUL's unique raspberry flavor is also delicious, with a sweet and sour taste. Normally sold as a whole, but at PAUL, they also offer it pre-cut as shown in the photo. When you buy the whole cake, it comes with a crown and a feve. You put the feve inside the cake, cut it, and serve it to your family. The person who finds the feve becomes the king for the day. It's not a king game.

I heard that the croissants here are delicious, so I went to buy some. They were seriously crispy! It felt like I had never really eaten a croissant before because these were so good. When I warmed them up a bit in the toaster, they became even crispier and it was just amazing (*´Д`*)

Paul, a beloved French bakery located on the basement floor of Fukuoka Mitsukoshi. They import ingredients like wheat flour from France to create flavors close to the original. The pastries in the showcase all look delicious. After much deliberation, I decided on a half croissant and an Anchen Pastrami. The croissant was moist and crumbly, with a buttery aroma and gentle sweetness. The Anchen Pastrami is a French bread sandwiched with pastrami beef and lettuce. Every pastry here is truly delicious.

Paul faithfully reproduces the taste of its French headquarters. I have used it many times, but this time I bought a limited edition product that bakes croissant dough in a mold, which is popular. The instructions say to lightly toast it and top it with cream cheese and smoked salmon, so I decided to try it as a meal bread. The bread itself has a solid weight to it. I sliced it to a suitable thickness, lightly toasted it, and seasoned it with cream cheese, smoked salmon, lemon juice, pepper, and parsley. The result was... incredibly delicious! As expected from Paul, the rich aroma of butter and the layered croissant dough were elegant. It had just the right amount of sweetness and moisture, making it more than enough as a base for the toppings.

I visited this place for the first time looking for a light lunch, and they have an eat-in corner! I was planning to order a lunch set, but it would take some time. Since I had another appointment, I ended up getting a bread and a cafe latte from the counter. Even though it's in the basement of a department store, I found it quite cozy. It's a good place to quickly enjoy alone! The croissant dough of the bread was delicious! The pizza bread was also great. If I take them to go, I feel like I would end up buying too much (laughs).

Recently, there are specialty shops, dessert shops, and bakeries selling arranged versions of canelé de Bordeaux, but I prefer the original recipe made with butter instead of beeswax. It was popular during the bubble era and many shops sold it back then, but nowadays it's rare to find. So, when you come across a place selling the authentic canelé de Bordeaux, it's a delightful discovery! The original canelé de Bordeaux is the best!

At the front of the Depachika at Fukuoka Mitsukoshi, there is a store called Joann, while towards the back, there is a place called "PAUL." It has a chic vibe and the prices are quite reasonable! In this store, French bread is referred to as "Anshen" maybe? I tried the "Anshen Mix," which is a sandwich with lettuce, ham, cheese, and tomato between French bread. It was a bit confusing, but delicious! I also had a croissant, which was just a regular croissant. Both were tasty and I had them cut for me. The "Anshen Mix" was 583 yen for one, and I think the croissant was 216 yen. Overall, they were both simple and delicious!

Fukuoka City, Tenjin. A popular bakery located on the B2 floor of Mitsukoshi, with an eat-in space as well. I have visited this bakery many times. They offer takeout options, and occasionally have a special set for 1080 yen. This time, I got the Chocolat and Chocolate Waffle to go. The Chocolat has a slightly crispy surface, but the dough is delicate and fluffy. It pairs well with the rich and creamy chocolate. The Chocolate Waffle was surprisingly light and crispy, with a fluffy texture inside. The chocolate was rich. Overall, the delicate and light texture stood out this time. Thank you for the delicious treats! ♡

I bought a croissant coated with chocolate at an authentic French bakery. The croissant was crispy just like I like it, and I enjoyed the sweetness and bitterness of the chocolate coating. I also liked the one with strawberry cream sandwiched inside.

The canelé was delicious! The matcha was also delicious! I used to dislike canelé, but the ones here have a chewy texture inside!
