I came here to enjoy the Uni from Rishiri Island after researching reviews. It's September, so it's Murasaki Uni. The Uni season ends on September 15th, so once the stock runs out, we won't be able to eat Uni for this season. The Uni bowl with fresh Uni costs 5000 yen. It's definitely worth it. Look at the shine and color of the Uni. I took a big bite of Uni without anything else first. It was amazing. Then I followed with a bit of rice. The combination of Uni and rice is the best. The sauce on the side was excellent. I sprinkled a bit on top of the Uni, added a little wasabi, and then had another big bite of Uni. I followed it up with some rice. The Uni and rice combo is unbeatable. The miso soup and salad on the side were unnecessary distractions. I didn't need the pickles either. Just give me the Uni bowl. I also had a glass of natural water from Rishiri Island. After finishing the Uni bowl, I drank the water. It was delicious.

Sapporo Okadama Airport to Rishiri Airport by rental car on August 5, 2023. Rishiri Island is experiencing heavy rain and strong winds due to a cold front. Sightseeing is almost impossible. There is a famous restaurant in front of the ferry terminal. The highlight of this restaurant is the Rishiri seaweed ramen! Due to the heavy rain, the sea urchin is expensive. To make up for not being able to sightsee, enjoy a meal here! The sea urchin bowl is market price at 10,000 yen. It's worth it. The staff informed me that discounted tickets are being sold inside the ferry terminal. I quickly got one. The rich sweetness of the sea urchin paired with the seaweed aroma of the ramen was amazing.

On July 26th (Wednesday), we had lunch at Sato Shokudo on Rishiri Island. This restaurant is located right in front of the Oshidomari Port ferry terminal. We had made a reservation in advance so we were able to get a table smoothly, but as soon as the ferry arrived, the restaurant quickly filled up. There were many signs with the word "uni" (sea urchin) inside, but due to bad weather, they were unable to go sea urchin fishing today. Some people who came in seeking uni-don ended up leaving disappointed. Looking at the menu, there were many options available. We started with a toast with a medium-sized bottle of beer for 700 yen. Since there were many people in our group, it took a bit of time for our food to arrive, but as we waited while sipping our beer, the long-awaited dishes finally arrived. We ordered the Rishiri Seaweed Ramen for 1,350 yen. The clear yet flavorful soup was made from Rishiri kelp broth. The medium-thin straight noodles were well coated with seaweed. The bowl was filled with various Rishiri seaweeds like wakame, ginko grass, matsuba, and funori, surrounding the chashu in the center. It was delicious, allowing us to savor the taste of the Rishiri sea with every bite of noodles, seaweed, and soup. One person in our group also added curry rice, and we all had a taste. It was a nostalgic, heartwarming curry rice that brought comfort.

I wanted to try the "uni bowl" even on Rishiri Island, so I asked the front desk at Hotel Rishiri for recommendations and they told me about "Satou Shokudo" located right in front of the Oshidomari Port Ferry Terminal. I saw staff inside the restaurant, but they told me they open at 9 am. So I decided to wait outside for a bit. Finally, they opened at 9 am! I sat at a table and ordered from the daily recommendations: - Bafun Uni Bowl - Murasaki Uni Bowl - Uni and Salmon Roe Bowl They use freshly caught Rishiri sea urchin for all the uni dishes. Rishiri Uni is said to be the most delicious in Japan, but also the most expensive! Since I came all the way here, I decided to order the expensive "Bafun Uni Bowl" with extra uni (1.5 times the normal amount). The premium quality "uni bowl" was made with the highest-grade Rishiri sea urchin. The uni, raised on Rishiri kelp, was rich and flavorful, best enjoyed without any additional seasoning. The taste was exceptional! It was a delicious experience, but quite tough on the wallet (laughs). Thank you for the meal!

I had lunch. I ordered seaweed ramen, while my family ordered seafood ramen. However, when the ramen we ordered was brought to us, my family started saying, "I ordered the seaweed ramen!" and ended up taking my seaweed ramen. The seaweed ramen looked like a magnificent visual, as if it had come from the shallow sea full of seaweed in Rishiri. When I asked for their feedback, they said, "It's really delicious!" On the other hand, the seafood ramen was also delicious, with shrimp and other seafood in it. It also had seaweed in it, and the soup was also good. But I really wanted to eat the seaweed ramen.

Arrived at Rishiri by ferry and came here. Asked for the market price of sea urchin bowl and was surprised to hear it was 8,000 yen. Decided to share the sea urchin bowl with two colleagues. Ordered the Rishiri seaweed ramen. The ramen had various types of seaweed in abundance, making it feel like being underwater. The portion of noodles was generous. The soup had a rich and deep salty flavor, very delicious. The sea urchin bowl had plenty of uni, with a rich sweetness and flavor that was top-notch. Hmm, but 8,000 yen is a bit...

[Hokkaido Ramen Expedition 2022 at Shiretoko Seaweed Ramen] After departing from the Oronko Port Ferry Terminal on Rishiri Island, right in front of you is Sato Shokudo, a dining establishment where you can enjoy uni-don and seaweed ramen that has even been featured in the Michelin Guide with a Michelin Plate. I arrived at the shop around 10 o'clock. The shop is located right in front of the ferry terminal. I checked the menu and ordered the Rishiri Seaweed Ramen for 1300 yen. When the ramen arrived, I found that the noodles were thin and deliciously firm. The soup was a light and clear broth with a decent amount of oil, but it had a rich umami flavor that slowly permeated through. The robust aroma of the sea and the distinct taste of seaweed added to the deliciousness of the soup. The toppings included chashu, menma, wakame, nori, ginkgo biloba, and matsubo seaweed, each providing a different texture, slipperiness, and aroma that enhanced the overall experience. It was a delight to savor a seaweed-rich ramen with an irresistible seaside aroma in such a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.

At "Satou Shokudou" in Rishiri Island, Hokkaido, you can try the Rishiri Seaweed Ramen for 1300 yen. The soup, made with four types of seaweed from Rishiri - wakame, gin'yousou, matsubo, and funori, has a gentle umami flavor that spreads slowly along with the scent of the sea. The way they use oil is skillful, not just light but also has a strong savoriness that makes you want to drink it all up. The slightly wavy medium-thin noodles slide in smoothly. The texture is enjoyable when mixed with the seaweed. Toppings include the four types of seaweed, green onions, menma, and chashu. The chashu is not dry but has a bit of a strong flavor. The slimy and sticky texture of the seaweed adds a nice touch. They open at 9 am, but I would love to try this bowl even earlier in the morning. In front of the ferry terminal, I quickly stopped by to try the sea urchin bowl here. The staff said, "This will be the last one for the year." I enjoyed the summer delicacy of fresh sea urchin, without any additives. The rice portion was small, which created a nice balance for the meal.

On August 18, 2021 (Wednesday) at 12:27 (according to the receipt), after finishing the regular sightseeing bus in Rishiri, I had lunch before departing for Rebun Island at 13:15. I had decided to eat at this restaurant. I ordered the Rishiri Seaweed Ramen for 1200 yen. The owner told me, "It's a lot," but I replied, "I want to eat it even if I have leftovers." The ramen with three types of kelp was delicious, and the noodles had a wonderful scent of the sea. It was so tasty. Thank you very much.

I visited this restaurant right at lunchtime. It was crowded, but we were able to get a seat as some customers were leaving. Since there were two of us, we were seated at a counter table. We started with bottled beer and ordered kombu tsukudani (simmered kelp) and grilled saury as appetizers. For our main dish, we ordered scallop ramen. While enjoying the kombu tsukudani with our beer, the ramen arrived. The soup was light with a delicious seafood flavor, and the noodles were thin and chewy. It was really tasty, especially the soup. The grilled saury also arrived (I forgot to take a photo). It was a large saury with thick and delicious meat. I wanted another beer, but we had sightseeing plans ahead, so I resisted. By the way, the kombu tsukudani paired well with the beer and was delicious.

Continuing from last year's trip to Rishiri Island, this year I set off for Rebun Island. With some time before the ferry to Rebun, I decided to stop by Sato Shokudo in front of the ferry terminal. I was torn between ordering ramen or a tuna bowl, but the fatty hokke fish looked delicious, so I went for the hokke set meal. It came with side dishes of simmered Rishiri kelp and miso soup. The hokke was delicious with its fatty texture.

A dining establishment located in front of the Enbaku Ferry Terminal. There are several car rental shops and restaurants lined up here, including the highly rated Isoyakitei. I ordered the seaweed ramen here. It's a seafood diner that has a generous serving of four types of seaweed (funori, ginnanso, wakame, matsubo), truly representing the fishing town of the north. The soup infused with the scent of the sea and the slightly thin curly noodles blend well together. Among the seaweed, wakame and funori are particularly delicious. The open and homey atmosphere is also a plus. Note that in case of bad weather, they may close in the early afternoon, so it's best to visit while it's still open.

I have arrived at Rishiri Island! As soon as I got here, I went to eat at Satou Shokudo in the port. The prices were a bit high, but the seaweed ramen was delicious! It had plenty of seaweed and was a light ramen. The smelt set meal was also tasty!

Day 2 in Rishiri. It's the day we're heading back, but we have some time before our flight so we decided to have lunch in front of the ferry terminal. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, some shops are closed and the ones that are open have long lines. Remembering the experience from the previous day, my partner and I decided to split up and line up at two different places to see which one we could get into faster. After about 15 minutes, I was able to enter the restaurant quickly. Unfortunately, the famous sea urchin bowl was not available that day due to rough sea conditions (luckily we had plenty the night before at the hotel). My little ramen lover continued with ramen, while I was craving rice and fried food, so I chose the pork cutlet set. It was unusually hot in Rishiri that day, so the bottled classic soda was refreshing and quenched my thirst. First, the green onion chashu ramen arrived. It looked so clean and beautiful that I briefly thought it was a salt-based broth. The soup was full of umami from the kelp and had a hint of soy sauce aroma. It was not overpowering at all, rather light and refreshing. The thin curly noodles paired perfectly with it, and I thought this ramen could stand alone as a star dish. The pork cutlet set had plenty of vegetables, which was a nice touch. The slightly thin pork cutlet was crispy and freshly fried, which paired well with the rice. The pickled kelp side dish added a nice touch. After finishing our meal, we chatted with the staff who were taking a break after the lunch rush. They mentioned that the current heatwave was unusual for the area and that they could feel the effects of global warming. Despite the heat, the cool island breeze coming through the open windows was soothing and helped alleviate the heat. It was a delightful meal. I definitely want to visit Rishiri again.

During lunchtime, there was some availability probably because it was not the usual ferry time. I ordered a sea urchin rice bowl and a Rishiri kombu ramen. The sea urchin in the bowl was Ezo bafun uni! It was smaller than I expected. The sea urchin was rich, but I could taste a hint of bitterness. I couldn't help but compare it to the sea urchin bowl I had a few days ago in Shakotan. The Rishiri kombu ramen was amazing! It had four types of kombu from Rishiri Island. The kombu broth was incredibly flavorful and the soup was really delicious. This is definitely worth trying here!

I was worried about becoming a lunch refugee as many shops were closed in the Wakkanai area due to the prevention of the spread of Corona, but "Shokudo Sato" was open, so I immediately entered! The atmosphere is like a remote island restaurant that could appear on the TV show "Aiseki Shokudo" by Chidori! The service by the lady was excellent! Her suggestion and vocabulary were outstanding. At first, I only ordered the Uni Donburi (4500 yen), but I noticed that most of the other customers were eating ramen, so I added an order of seaweed ramen! I knew the Uni Donburi would be delicious as I have had it many times, but I was "impressed" by the seaweed ramen! The soup was incredibly delicious, and the seaweed (especially wakame) was much tastier than the seaweed I usually eat! Of course, the combination of noodles and soup was excellent and very delicious! Overall, I was blown away by the seaweed ramen! This is a restaurant I would definitely come back to just to eat! Thank you for the meal♪♪

My first visit to Rishiri Island. Arrived in the early afternoon by ferry, so I stopped by a restaurant right in front of the ferry terminal for lunch. When it comes to Rishiri, it's all about the sea urchin bowl!! Looking at the menu, the sea urchin bowl was priced at 4500 yen. Yeah, that's expected... so I consulted with my wallet and opted for the tuna bowl instead. The tuna bowl was also fresh and delicious! Completely satisfied! Since I'll be driving a rental car next, I resisted the urge to have a beer. Other customers were ordering ramen, so maybe I'll try the ramen next time.

I wanted to enjoy something out of the ordinary, so I decided to visit Rishiri Island, a remote island in Hokkaido. The blue sky, clear sea, and striking shapes of the mountains were truly amazing. I had a great time interacting with a nature guide as well! Even though my stay was only a few hours, we decided to finish it off with a delicious seafood meal, which led us to Sato Shokudo. The unique staff provided excellent service, and we ordered a seafood bowl, grilled Atka mackerel set meal, and ramen. All dishes were generous in portion size, and my family was very satisfied! The prices were a bit high, but considering it's an island, it was understandable. I would definitely visit this restaurant again when I return to the island.

I visited Rebun Island for the first time in a while. I finally had the chance to eat at the restaurant in front of the ferry terminal that I had always been curious about. I had ramen, my wife had curry rice, and my child had sea urchin rice bowl. The ramen I had was nostalgic. It had chashu, menma, fu, green onions, and thin noodles. The soup was delicious, with a strong dashi flavor, and I was able to enjoy it hot until the end. The sea urchin rice bowl that my child had was bafun sea urchin. I tried a bit of it, and as expected, sea urchin from Rebun is delicious. The restaurant was busy with customers, but the female staff were efficient and impressive in their service. The dishes were served nicely, and the waiting time was not too bothersome. Despite the challenges of the current COVID-19 situation, the staff at the restaurant were following the guidelines of the new Hokkaido style. I would like to eat here again on my next visit.
