KEN21
On this day, my wife bought some snacks. She purchased them at the Press Butter Sand Lumine Est Shinjuku store. My wife hadn't visited Tokyo since the beginning of 2020, but she had an important reason to go this time, so she made the trip nervously. I myself have only been to Tokyo twice since late March 2020. I feel bad for writing this way, but Kanagawa is pretty much the same as Tokyo (tears). Since we rarely go to Tokyo, we decided to get some souvenirs. We bought:
- Butter Sand (Chestnut) 9 pieces for 2235 yen
This product is from a shop specializing in butter sandwiches, run by BAKE Co., Ltd., located in Shirokane-dai, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Since its opening in April 2017 at Tokyo Station, this shop has been forming long lines. They started selling the "Butter Sand (Chestnut)" flavor as a limited edition in the Chubu region from October 8, 2020, and from November 1, 2020, it was available at all stores nationwide and online for a limited time. I have tried the plain and Uji matcha flavors before, so this is my third flavor. Let's try it out.
- Butter Sand (Chestnut) 9 pieces
The packaging looks luxurious with a warm chestnut-colored box. Inside the box, there are 9 individually wrapped pieces in a luxurious gold packaging. Inside the individual packaging is a cube-shaped cookie. The outer cookie dough comes in two types, a chestnut-colored dough and a plain dough. The chestnut-colored dough contains chestnut paste and poppy seeds. The cookie has a hollow center filled with buttercream mixed with chestnut paste and caramel cream. When you bite into it, you'll experience a crunchy texture with a strong chestnut flavor. The butter is not overpowering, blending well with the egg flavor, making it not too sweet, suitable even for those who don't like overly sweet treats. Honestly, the outer cookie dough alone is delicious enough. My preference ranking would be Uji matcha > Chestnut > Plain. Although I ranked them, the plain flavor is also very delicious. Each piece has 121kcal, making it a reasonable snack option. It seems they have added more flavors, so I look forward to trying them when my wife buys them next time. Thank you for the meal!
