I like sake, so I decided to visit this restaurant after a few years based on a recommendation from someone who also enjoys sake. The food here is consistently delicious and comforting, with a wide variety of options on the menu. The sake was also very tasty. This time, I ordered dishes with fish as the main ingredient, but there were also plenty of meat dishes available. I will definitely visit again.

Visit date and time: 20:15 on a weekday Waiting time: None Menu: A la carte I visited this restaurant after seeing on Instagram that they have a wide variety of Japanese sake. I didn't have a reservation, but managed to get a table as there was one available. They seem to focus on fish dishes, and I enjoyed the tuna eyeball simmered in soy sauce and the oysters. It was nice to be able to grate the wasabi for the sashimi myself. I also found the grater called "Wasabi Sabi." The Japanese sake selection was indeed extensive as I saw on Instagram, and I had a great time trying different kinds. The table area had a lot of group customers and many smokers, so it was quite smoky. Thank you for the meal.

Before the second state of emergency was declared, we had a relatively relaxed gathering at this restaurant. It wasn't a large group, just limited to four people. The specialty of this place is delicious fish and Japanese sake. We started with a sashimi platter and tried various tasty dishes. While the fish dishes were good, what really left an impression was the variety of sake they offered. They had brands like Tamitsukuri, Yamosu, and Ura-Nabeshima, which I had never seen before. We got carried away and ended up spending quite a bit of money. Normally, it wouldn't cost more than 10,000 yen per person.

Yesterday, the second place we went to with the secret members had a wide variety of Japanese sake and the menu had many dishes that seemed to be liked by sake lovers. I would like to try various dishes next time. #Sumiyoshi Ward #Abiko #Japanese sake #sake lover #Sakura #Nabeshima

I feel like I visited this place a long time ago, but I don't remember it because it was so long ago. This time, I made a reservation with my friend who loves sake because we couldn't get in at the second place we tried before. As everyone has written, the sashimi with sake pairing is delicious. The sashimi comes with freshly grated wasabi. It's amazing that there is such a hidden gem in the backstreets! There are also dishes like beef tongue and salad to enjoy with the sake. However, we ended up with a fairly high bill because we got carried away and drank too much sake. But as a sake lover, I would like to visit this place again.

I was recommended by an acquaintance to a cozy izakaya with a great selection of sake and delicious food in Abiko. It's located in a quiet alley off the Abiko Chuo shopping street, with a sign of Nabeshima's sunshade curtain as a landmark. Despite the rain, the place was packed, both at the counter and in the tatami room, showing its popularity. We made a reservation and were seated comfortably at the counter, with enough space between us and the next customers. The chef and his wife seemed to be the only ones running the place, with a cute part-time staff assisting occasionally. The cooking was done solely by the chef, and while the service was a bit slow, it allowed for leisurely conversations in a calm atmosphere. The menu featured a variety of fresh seasonal dishes, classic favorites, and appetizing sake accompaniments, making it hard to choose. The chef also offered sushi when he had time, which was a nice touch. The selection of sake and shochu was impressive, with the chef's recommendations being particularly noteworthy. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would love to visit again. Our order included a selection of appetizers, sashimi platter, crispy chicken and warm egg salad, beef tendon and konjac stew, Hakata-style flying fish roe with mentaiko, cod milt tempura, grilled fresh wheat gluten with soy sauce, grated yam gratin with crab miso sauce, along with various drinks like draft beer, Ryosen from Akita, and Harukasumi from Akita. It was all delicious. Thank you for the meal!

There is an izakaya near Abiko Station that serves really delicious food. The menu changes daily depending on the ingredients, and dishes like sashimi, tempura, and sushi are all of high quality. They also have a wide variety of sake, making it a great place for sake lovers. I highly recommend this place, so please check it out.

If you want to leisurely enjoy Japanese sake, this is a must-see. As soon as you enter, there are counter seats, and there are several sunken kotatsu seats in the back. Semi-private rooms are available. I love that you can choose your own ochoko (sake cup) at this place. There are countless types of sake... and each one has a detailed description written, making it fun to choose! The menu is also very extensive, and it seems to be rewritten daily with items that would go well with sake. There are also some rare items that you don't usually see, like icefish, sea pineapple, and sea squirt. I recommend trying the three kinds of rare delicacies if you enjoy drinking sake. It's nice that they serve sake as an appetizer. It's not something you can do all the time due to the cost of sake, but I want to try various dishes. I feel like I haven't fully enjoyed it yet, but I'm looking forward to going again.

As a couple, we revisited the restaurant and started with a toast with a draft beer (500 yen). The appetizer was tuna and yam, a perfect dish to go with Japanese sake, and we also tried the Tochigi Junmai Ginjo Matsunosuke. Just like last time, we enjoyed a glass of sake with the appetizer, and it was delicious. For the main dishes, we had salt-grilled beltfish (580 yen) which was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of salt. It came with sudachi and grated radish, giving it a refreshing taste. Next, we tried the Inca no Mezame potatoes with butter (480 yen). These potatoes from Hokkaido had a unique taste, almost like a mix of regular and sweet potatoes. Eating them with butter was a new experience, and they were smooth and delicious. We also had the black pepper grilled pork belly (480 yen), which was thickly sliced and served with plenty of green onions and wakame seaweed. The seasoning was perfect, and the pork was juicy and sweet. This time, we made sure to order sake. We chose the Kamonishiki Nadeshiko Sake from Niigata (Junmai Daiginjo, nama-zake, Omachi rice) in a glass (750 yen). The staff poured it into the glass, and after the first sip, we knew it was a great choice. It was fruity and had a strong sweetness from the rice, making it a delicious sake. We also ordered the cod milt hot pot (780 yen), which was a comforting dish with cod milt, mizuna, Chinese cabbage, green onions, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and enoki mushrooms. The mizuna was crisp, the Chinese cabbage was sweet, and the cod milt was creamy and delicious. We highly recommend trying this warming dish. We also tried the pickled mackerel (380 yen), which was mackerel marinated in salt and then in rice bran, a local dish from Wakasa. It was served with sliced daikon radish and had a strong salty flavor, perfect for pairing with sake. Lastly, we had the leftover cod milt hot pot turned into a porridge. The egg was half-cooked, and there was plenty of seaweed sprinkled on top, giving it a hint of the sea. The seasoning was light, and the porridge was delicious, making it a great way to end the meal. The food and sake were all delicious. Next time, we look forward to trying different kinds of sake. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The next restaurant is a special place where I indulged in my love for sake and everyone accompanied me to a Japanese sake izakaya. It's a precious shop that serves a Saga sake called Ayasakura, which is a rare brand of sake from Nabeshima. Recently, when my friend Mairevi went on a business trip to Saga, she tried to get her hands on this Nabeshima sake but couldn't find it anywhere in the local area. So, I made a reservation at this restaurant while we were still at the previous one, and our entry was smooth. First, the appetizers were served, and to my surprise, there was sake in the middle! I've never seen sake as an appetizer before, it was a first for me. When I asked the staff, they said it was a sake called Miyoshikiku from Tokushima, with a slightly sweet taste. For our main order, we of course chose Nabeshima. We also had Hakata-style cod roe, smoked herring roe with sake lees cream cheese, and a platter of three delicacies. We started with a toast and then tried the Nabeshima. The first impression was the pleasant aroma, followed by a refreshing sharpness that even someone like me, who isn't very knowledgeable about sake, could appreciate as delicious. It went perfectly with the Hakata-style cod roe, which was so delicious that the sake went down too smoothly. The smoked herring roe with sake lees cream cheese was familiar and ordinary in taste. The platter of three delicacies included sea cucumber innards, sea squirt, and salmon roe pickled in sake lees, which are rare delicacies not often found in regular izakayas. The atmosphere of the place was also great, so I would love to come back and enjoy a leisurely drink next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The third place was a bit hard to find as it was down a small alley or side street near Abiko station. The exterior of the restaurant was lovely and the interior had a calm atmosphere, perfect for those looking to enjoy some drinks. They recommended trying their Japanese sake, so I decided to give it a go. Normally I avoid sake when I'm out, as I'm afraid of getting too drunk and not being able to make it home. But I figured, if I don't drink sake here, where else would I? I ordered a half portion of a sake called "Nabeshima" and it was delicious! The appetizers were also great, especially the trio of delicacies and the seared cod roe. Everything went so well with the sake! I also loved the smoked herring roe and sake lees cream cheese dish. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would love to come back and enjoy a leisurely evening of drinking here again.

I have been going to this place for over 10 years. I enjoyed trying different delicious Japanese sake and experiencing various seating options like the counter and tatami area, all starting from a recommendation. However, when I finally made a reservation to visit, I was seated at a small table and no one came to serve us despite having made a reservation. There were even better tables available. Although it was during the pandemic, there didn't seem to be any issues, so I was left wondering why we were seated there. Since then, I have not returned. I thought we were regulars, but I ended up disappointing my companion.

I rode my bicycle all the way to My Sun in Chiba. The food lived up to my high expectations. The conger eel sashimi had a texture even better than what I had at a famous restaurant in Nihonbashi, Tokyo last week. The sashimi of white shrimp wrapped in seaweed was a stylish way to enjoy it, and the flavor was top-notch. The grilled nodoguro with salt was also amazing, with just the right amount of oil. The assorted vegetable tempura was beautifully presented, and the shiitake mushrooms were juicy and delicious. The negitoro with wasabi roll was also outstanding.
