Tsuruhashi's popular izakaya "Nakajimaya" that Myrebi-san and others often go to, so I've always wanted to visit. This time, I visited for a daytime drinking session in March.
About the restaurant:
Located just a short walk from Tsuruhashi Station (JR, subway, Kintetsu) along the main road "Sennichimae Street," the restaurant has a typical izakaya atmosphere. The seating consists of an L-shaped counter facing the kitchen with 8 seats, 2 two-person table seats, and 1 four-person table seat. There is also seating on the 2nd floor, but I did not go up, so details are unknown.
About the dishes I ate:
Started with a refreshing glass of draft beer. Then, I ordered some dishes to go with the alcohol. Here's what I ate that day:
- Potato Salad: Creamy mashed potatoes with ham, egg, carrot, and onion, generously mixed with mayo. The crunchy texture of the onion adds a nice touch.
- Doteyaki: A classic izakaya dish from Osaka, featuring tender simmered beef tendons in a white miso-based sauce.
- Otoro Tekka: Their signature dish, with a mountain of fatty tuna on top of a rolled sushi. The tuna was rich and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
Overall, the dishes were satisfying, and the bill for a glass of draft beer, a cup of Harushika Ultra Dry sake, and the food came to 3110 yen, which I found reasonable. I wanted to try more dishes, but the portion sizes were quite generous, so it might be better to share with someone next time. After this, I thought of visiting another place in Tsuruhashi for a second round of drinks. Cheers!
