I visited the restaurant on a regular night. I find diners serving set meals very convenient, and I often use Manome-san. It was my first time using it in Saga, but I found out that it originally comes from Kurume, and it's part of the Uma group. That's why they put a lot of effort into their fish dishes. I bought my meal at the ticket machine at the entrance and took my seat. There are many counter seats, making it easy for solo diners, but there are also tables for families. Since they have a lot of fish dishes, I think even elderly people can enjoy their meals here. I ordered the tuna cutlet set meal. Tuna is delicious when raw, but even as a cutlet, it was tasty. The texture was fluffy, and when eaten with wasabi, it tasted refreshing and light despite being fried. It was consistently delicious.

Recently, fried horse mackerel seems to be popular, and it is indeed delicious, but personally, I prefer fried mackerel. Today, I had a seafood bowl and fried horse mackerel. The fried horse mackerel was delicious! The seafood bowl was just okay... Thank you for the meal!

I heard that the tuna cutlet here was delicious, so I decided to visit. It was incredibly tasty and I was so impressed! I wish I had come sooner... The tuna cutlet with grated ponzu sauce was a perfect match, and the miso soup was also delicious with plenty of ingredients. My daughter also enjoyed her meal, and we couldn't stop saying how delicious everything was. I want to keep coming back for more!

I visited Manome in Higashi Aikawa, Kurume City. I felt like having some fish and remembered this place where you can get a set meal for 390 yen. It wasn't too crowded on a Saturday afternoon, so we were seated right away. This restaurant is known for being affiliated with the famous "So Uma" in Kurume, so my expectations were high. Oh, it's actually 490 yen now! Still, it's quite affordable so I went ahead and ordered. The set meal came with marinated fish slices, rice, and egg. I tried the sashimi first, but it wasn't very fresh and had a slight smell. There were also some tough parts that took a while to chew. The sauce was tasty though. It felt like a regular fish meal. It was a bit lacking, but I guess it's fair for the price (if it was 390 yen). The tuna cutlet looked delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This month is my birthday month, so I went to Manome for lunch with a coupon for free shrimp fry service! In addition to the shrimp fry service, I also ordered fish rice and horse mackerel fry. The fish rice seemed to be a bit more expensive than before... but the portion of rice seemed to be larger... I don't remember well. The volume of the shrimp fry and horse mackerel fry was amazing, and they were delicious! The fish rice had a variety of fish mixed in, and the octopus was a bit tough, but other than that, it was delicious!

I want to try lunch at various restaurants. When I searched on Tabelog, I noticed the existence of this restaurant that I had never paid attention to before in the Chikugo area of Fukuoka Prefecture. It is a franchise chain restaurant known for its seafood dishes. The prices seem reasonable, so I decided to visit this restaurant tomorrow. It is located in Higashi Aikawa, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, about 23 kilometers one way. I arrived around 11:00 on Saturday and purchased a meal ticket from the ticket machine. Seafood bowl = 1200 yen. I handed the meal ticket to the female staff and waited for the food. Honestly, I have high expectations. I am looking forward to what kind of sashimi they use. Since there were no other customers, it only took about 5 minutes before the seafood bowl was served. The seafood bowl was placed on the tray with a small amount of rice topped with sea bream, octopus, yellowtail belly, and salmon sashimi, along with flying fish roe. On top, there were large shiso leaves and chopped seaweed, with a hot spring egg in the corner. The sashimi in the seafood bowl looked a bit lonely. The sashimi slices were not thick and did not seem very fresh. Even when I tried it with the sesame sauce provided, my mouth did not feel satisfied. Maybe it's an issue with the freshness of the sashimi? I will skip further details as I don't want to affect the restaurant's reputation. The fried horse mackerel was served on a separate plate and tasted delicious without any sauce. The tartar sauce provided was mostly mayonnaise, so it was better to eat the fried horse mackerel without it. The miso soup had plenty of fried tofu and wheat gluten floating in it, and I found a small joy when I discovered a tempura ball of mashed fish cake at the bottom. The small dish contained boiled komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach) and shimeji mushrooms. Despite feeling slightly dissatisfied with the main seafood bowl, I could eat the other dishes normally. The fried horse mackerel was excellent, probably because it is currently in season. The franchise chain currently has two stores in Kurume City, two in Saga City, and one in Fukuoka City, with plans to expand in the future. I recently saw a store in Saga City, but I didn't try it as I didn't try to park my car in the parking lot. Since it is a franchise chain, the contents may vary slightly depending on the store, but I think they use the same ingredients. If they are the same, it might be difficult to become a repeat customer. *This is about the seafood bowl!!

In Kurume, we decided to watch a movie and have lunch at this nearby restaurant. We arrived according to the posted hours, but it turns out they start serving at 11 am. The recommended dish is the tuna cutlet. While I was hesitating in front of the ticket machine, a staff member approached me and offered to add sashimi for only 200 yen. So, I decided to order the tuna cutlet set with sashimi. My companion had the daily fish simmered dish. The tuna cutlet that arrived exceeded my expectations. It was cooked thoroughly and tasted like meat. Plus, it was quite a generous portion. The simmered dish was also delicious with a professional taste. I also noticed they had fried horse mackerel on the menu. Since there is also a store in Saga, I will definitely visit again.

Today's lunch was at a diner called "Manome" near Kurume IC. They offer a variety of set meals, with many fried options. It's great for those who want a hearty meal! You can have unlimited rice. One of their recommended dishes is tuna cutlet. I've only had tuna as sushi or sashimi before, so I was curious how it would taste fried. It came with grated radish, special ponzu sauce, and wasabi on the side. It definitely had a satisfying crunch, but the taste was still tuna (of course). Despite being fried, it was surprisingly refreshing. The prawns were also large and delicious. Prawns are best with tartar sauce, in my opinion. Thank you for the meal!

I came to Kurume for some errands and happened to find this restaurant while wandering around at the interchange, so I made a U-turn to visit. The name of this restaurant has changed, and I believe the neighboring shop also has a different name now. It was around 1 pm when I visited, so the parking lot was almost full, but the inside of the restaurant was not too crowded. There was a ticket machine on the right as soon as you entered, so I took a ticket, chose a seat, and handed the ticket to the staff. Since there were customers behind us, I quickly decided on the fried chicken set meal (with sashimi). The staff took the ticket and within 10 minutes, the food was brought to our table. First, the sashimi. The freshness was outstanding, and it was incredibly delicious. The flavor of the soy sauce was also excellent. As for the main dish, the fried chicken was a bit too crispy, almost too hard. I prefer it to be a bit juicier. However, the meat inside was delicious with a nice texture. If I could ask for one more thing, it would be an additional side dish to the set meal. I felt like there was a bit too little vegetables, so more cabbage or other vegetables would have been nice. Oh, and the rice. It was crunchy and incredibly tasty. There are many nationwide chain restaurants in the area, but I prefer local restaurants like this one. It was located near a signal-free intersection, but if you take the back road, you can easily get to the opposite lane. I wrote a lot, but if I have the chance, I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

This is a sister restaurant of the famous fish restaurant "Soma" in Kurume. The sashimi and simmered fish are just as good as Soma. With set meal prices, it's casual and the quality of the fish is the same as Soma. The tofu is from Mineoka Tofu and is incredibly delicious. The interior has been renovated and is now very beautiful. The soy sauce container for the seafood bowl is chilled, showing their attention to detail. With set meal prices, you can enjoy delicious fish from Soma in a casual setting. There are plenty of fried options, generous portions, and you can choose the amount of rice, so both men and children, as well as the elderly, can all enjoy. It's a place where anyone can come and have a great time.

This is my second visit. Today, it wasn't very crowded around 2 pm. I ordered the tuna cutlet and large shrimp fry set meal with sashimi. They asked if I needed a child's chair, but even though I requested one, it wasn't provided so I had to set it up myself. Surprisingly, the food was served quickly. There were dressings and ponzu sauce on the table. The dishes had a crispy coating and were delicious. The small side dish of taro and miso soup were a bit salty but tasty. As for the rice... I'm not sure how it was cooked, but half of it was clumped together like a dumpling and couldn't be separated with chopsticks. Maybe there was too much water? I had my husband eat that half and a little bit of the rice. The value for money is a bit questionable.

Located near Kurume Interchange, along the bypass of Higashi Aigawa (near Kurume Yume Town), this area is a highly competitive district with many restaurants. It is a bit difficult to reach by train. The parking lot is a shared space with other stores, but there is space for more than 20 cars in front of the shop. Inside the shop, there is a food ticket machine where you can buy tickets before ordering. Personally, I'm not a fan of food ticket machines. I prefer to carefully choose my order while sitting at the table. Otherwise, I tend to miss out on good deals by rushing to choose (laughs). The price range includes dishes like shrimp and tuna sashimi set for 1150 yen, tonkatsu set for 950 yen, and fried horse mackerel for 250 yen. There are also rice bowl dishes and a la carte items available. Inside the shop, there are 8 counter seats facing each other, totaling about 20 seats including those facing the windows. There are also table seats for 2, 4, and 6 people, providing a decent capacity. Self-service tea and water are available. Instructions on how to eat the mackerel cutlet are displayed in the shop, which seems to be their most recommended dish. As for the taste, the tuna cutlet (fried dish) is crispy with a good texture. Eating it with ponzu sauce and wasabi helps reduce the greasiness. The flavor, including the condiments, may be unique to fish dishes. I personally preferred the horse mackerel fry over the tuna cutlet. It has a thick, flavorful taste with a fluffy texture, and the light-tasting tartar sauce complements it very well. The tonkatsu is okay, but not a must-try here. It is more suitable for those who are not fond of fish dishes and come with someone who is. The sashimi is of decent quality for the price offered. Overall, including the rice, pickles, and miso soup, the quality of the set meals is quite good.

Today, my morning work finished early so I had a very early lunch. I decided to stop by Mamone, a restaurant along the Kurume Bypass that I haven't been to in a while. It used to be a champon noodle shop. I ordered the Maguro Katsu (deep-fried tuna) sashimi set meal. Since the set meals are all fish-based, the clientele seemed a bit upscale. The set meal arrived quickly with a small portion of sashimi (4 pieces) for an additional 200 yen, which was a bit disappointing. I chose the regular rice portion, but it was quite small. The Maguro Katsu was crispy and delicious, especially when eaten with wasabi and ponzu sauce. The miso soup was a nice touch. Overall, the service was good for a small establishment, but I was slightly disappointed. Well, it was my fault for choosing the sashimi set meal. If you don't choose the sashimi option, it's more reasonable.

The family went out saying they didn't need dinner, but ended up coming back hungry. Since there was nothing prepared at home, they decided to go to a revolving sushi or have champon. After some wandering, they ended up at a restaurant where they wanted to have a seafood set meal. One person quickly ordered a seafood bowl set meal, while the other person hesitated and ended up ordering a tuna bowl set meal. The prices seemed to have quietly increased over the past year, and the menu and seating arrangements had changed. The seafood bowl had grated yam in it, which seemed like a way to mask the flavors. The tuna bowl had beef and tuna together, and both had grated yam. The flavors were good but the reviewer wished they had taken more time to decide. The restaurant was clean and well-prepared, but the staff's chattering was a bit bothersome. The reviewer felt the noise level from the staff's conversations was uncomfortable. The constant job postings also raised concerns about employee turnover. With each visit, the prices increased, but the reviewer's overall impression of the restaurant decreased. The reviewer felt like they were always struggling to find something they wanted to order at the ticket machine.

In Kurume, there is a chain restaurant affiliated with "Souma" known for its seafood bowl for lunch. The sashimi is indeed fresh. Seafood bowls, simmered fish, and grilled fish seem to be better choices than fried foods. Generally, the portions of side dishes and rice are small, except for the fish head soup. It has a chain diner-like feel with a ticket system, which can be overwhelming with a wide variety of menu options. Extra rice is free. Each set meal can also be ordered as just the side dishes. Self-service for water and tea. On a Saturday afternoon, the floor is managed by only one staff member. Even excluding the time-consuming grilled fish, there can be a significant time gap in serving dishes if the orders are different. Seafood Bowl ¥1,400 - The freshness of the fish is outstanding. The dashi soy sauce and sesame soy sauce are served separately. The sesame soy sauce here is refreshing and delicious, unlike the overly sweet sesame soy sauce commonly found in the market. The creamy onsen egg complements the dish well. The side dish of horse mackerel fry would be better replaced with something like pork tofu. Simmered Fish Set Meal (with sashimi and extra rice) ¥890 - The simmered fish is fish head soup. The seasoning is strong but balanced, not too sweet or too spicy. The portion is generous, but the fish scales are not properly removed, making it difficult to eat. The skin of the simmered fish is tasty, but unfortunately, the scales are not removed. There is a 200 yen price difference between the set meal with sashimi and without sashimi. The sashimi is decent but small in portion, so honestly, it may not be necessary. The rice portion for the extra rice is small, and the simmered fish is rich in flavor and quantity, so it is not enough at all. In other words, even without sashimi, the side dishes are sufficient. The regular and extra rice options are the same price, but there is an additional 60 yen for a special extra portion. The miso soup has a strong broth but lacks ingredients. Tuna Cutlet Set Meal ¥920 - A rare tuna cutlet in inland Kurume. It is not rare like beef cutlet but thinly cooked with a firm texture, resembling a tuna cutlet made by shredding and shaping. The thick and well-seasoned breadcrumbs coating gives it a junk food feel and complements the strong flavor. Served with a side of 3 pieces of sashimi. The tuna and amberjack on the salmon are small but fresh and chewy. Sweet azuki bean tofu with a sweet sauce is served as dessert. Horse Mackerel Fry (a la carte) ¥250 - Included as a side dish in some set meals. The breadcrumbs are coarse like the tuna cutlet. The horse mackerel has a fishy smell and tough flesh. Despite the freshness of the sashimi, why is this so? The tartar sauce is mostly mayonnaise. The heavy coating absorbs oil, so a squeeze of lemon would be preferable. Large Shrimp Fry ¥400 - The fried dishes here have a heavy coating. It feels overpriced considering the taste and portion.

During the approach of a typhoon, I stopped by for lunch while running errands. It was my first visit. The restaurant was empty, probably due to the bad weather. Lucky me! I took my time choosing my meal from the touch panel ticket machine. I decided on the recommended tuna cutlet set meal (with sashimi) for 980 yen. I was also tempted by the simmered fish. I had heard from a friend that the tuna cutlet was around 800 yen, so I was a bit surprised. However, later on, I saw reviews mentioning that the restaurant had been renovated with changes in seating, menu, and prices. My partner chose the winter limited Hiroshima oyster fry set meal for 1000 yen. The tuna cutlet was crispy with a coarse bread crumb coating, and the tuna inside was moist with a subtle fish flavor. It was delicious with the special ponzu sauce or even just wasabi. The oyster fry was a large, rich piece that left a strong impression. The sashimi was the highlight for me. It was delicious with a good texture and flavor. Overall, despite the bad weather, there were still customers coming in. Next time, I might try the seafood bowl. As the rain worsened, I hurried back home. I wonder if the previous restaurant, Nihonbashi Champon, has completely disappeared. I quite liked it.

I visited to try the new Cheese Maguro Katsu. The cheese flavor is subtle, but it pairs perfectly with wasabi, grated daikon, and ponzu sauce. The sashimi is still incredibly delicious as always. It's no wonder, considering it's run by the Soma family.
