I don't remember, but I feel like I've been there before. Fresh chocolate sandwich -> Normally, there is not much chocolate cream. Basque cheesecake -> Sweet. Rich. Mille-feuille -> Delicious but very difficult to eat. I wonder how everyone eats it. Ambattor croissant was delicious. The store is narrow, so it feels crowded when people come.

In Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, in Ogura Minami-ku, in Tawara Shinmachi 2-5-1-102, there is a French confectionery shop called ERI. Their cream puffs cost 216 yen, pudding costs 216 yen, and fresh chocolate sandwich costs 238 yen. The cream puffs and pudding are both rich in custard, making them luxurious. The fresh chocolate sandwich has a slightly less sweet taste with a hint of cocoa bitterness. The rice flour omelette costs 550 yen and is filled with cherry blossom sweet bean paste, resembling traditional Japanese sweets, offering a relaxing and rich flavor.

Tahara Shinmachi, Kokuraminami-ku, Kitakyushu City. A small Western confectionery shop near Shimosone Station. It seems to be quite popular, with several customers even during a weekday afternoon, which is rare. They offer a wide variety of Western confectionery items such as cakes, sablés, cookies, chiffon cakes, lemon cakes, brownies, fruit jellies, butter sandwiches, canelés, and macarons. This time, I purchased the Chocolate Sandwich (238 yen) and the Chilled Cream Pan (357 yen). The Chocolate Sandwich had a rich chocolate cream and a fluffy texture, it was sweet and delicious. The Chilled Cream Pan had a crispy croissant with just the right amount of sweetness, filled with both whipped cream and hidden custard cream. It's a bit disappointing that the bread becomes hard when chilled. There are a few parking spaces in front of the shop. Thank you for the meal.

Basque cheese 432 yen, melting pudding 195 yen, fresh chocolate sandwich 216 yen, melting cheese 162 yen. Our shop is a small cake shop located a little off the main mall street. The parking lot seems to be shared with the neighboring pharmacy. Come to think of it, there are quite a few hospitals in the vicinity. There's even an Acom's ATM nearby. The cakes are generally all high quality, especially the fresh chocolate sandwich is recommended. The title has no relation to the shop, so please don't mind it. PayPay is accepted.

On this day, I casually stopped by "French confectionery ERI".
◇Exterior and Interior
This is a Western confectionery shop located near Shimozono Station in Kokuraminami-ku, Kitakyushu City. Shimozono Station has a strange characteristic where the north exit has significantly more people coming in, despite the south exit facing a wide rotary and main street. But let's not dwell on that. The exterior is striking with a red tent sign, and there is a sign at the entrance saying "Smile under your mask". The interior is bright and on the smaller side. The back of the showcase leads to the kitchen, where everyone seems busy.
◇Seating
Takeout only.
◇Menu Composition
They offer cakes, Western confectionery, and more. The items I ordered are as follows:
- Melting Pudding (195 yen) → Price per piece. I had a request for pudding that day, so I decided to stop by here. The size of their pudding is standard, with a small caramel base. They use only egg yolks from young chickens, resulting in a very smooth texture. The flavor is mild without a strong egg taste. The caramel is not too intense, making it easy to eat even two pieces by yourself. Perfect for a 3 o'clock snack.
◆Strong Points
A cake shop near the station.
◆Customer Service
The staff were all very friendly, and they truly had smiles under their masks.
◆Summary
It was a good purchase for a casual visit. Next time, I might try their cakes. Thank you for the meal! ^ ^

A while ago, I visited the shop after a long time and bought a Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc for my mother. She really enjoyed it, saying it was not too sweet and delicious, and asked me to buy it again. The atmosphere inside the shop is better than before, and the staff are very friendly. Maybe that's why the shop was packed with 3-4 people inside each time (lol). I usually don't like waiting, but the good atmosphere made it easy to wait without getting irritated (although it was only about 5 minutes). I bought a seasonal fruit tart for myself. Looking back at previous reviews, I realized that I really like tarts. It was a La France pear and persimmon tart, and the fruits were sweet and delicious. The persimmon had a refreshing sweetness that made me want to eat more. The tart was still hard to eat. In the end, I ate the fruits first and then the tart separately. Of course, the Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc was delicious as always.

I have been purchasing the strawberry tart here for many years and I love it. The tart crust is crispy and the balance between the strawberries and cream is excellent.

A Western confectionery shop in Ogura Minami Ward. The nearest station is Shimosone. It is said to be from the famous shop "16 district" in Hakata, and you can enjoy cakes with a solid and rich sweetness like there. The Mont Blanc with chestnut cream is quite sweet. Even when combined with the tart crust at the bottom, the sweetness is still strong, making it suitable to pair with coffee or black tea. The other cakes also have an overall old-fashioned taste, far from the latest trends. It's a bit resistant to say "classic," but "standard" or "reliable" might be more appropriate descriptions.

Today is my grandma's birthday♪ Went to ERI near Shimosone Station for delicious pudding. Grandma had a simple strawberry shortcake. I got pudding for myself as a snack (^ ^) Grandma was delighted and enjoyed the cake. I took the pudding home and finished it. It was smooth and delicious♫ Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by after having lunch nearby. It's a popular cake shop in Shimozono. The location is in Tahara Shimmachi 2-chome, turn right at the Shimozono JR station main street towards Tahara Elementary School. There is a parking lot in front of the store. The name was familiar to me, but I was surprised by how small the shop was... (laughs) The narrow shop is packed with cakes and baked goods, with only two customers inside. I bought various items: - Melting pudding (195 yen): Smooth pudding made with only egg yolks from young chickens. It's small but you can taste the rich egg flavor. The caramel is light with a mild sweetness and no bitterness. - The Veil (411 yen): A four-layered cake with rich matcha mousse, slightly bitter matcha cake, cream with mascarpone, and white chocolate. It has a mild sweetness and an adult taste. - Rare Cheese (346 yen): A refreshing sour cheesecake mousse with a sweet and sour raspberry sauce underneath. The cookie dough complements it well. The cakes and puddings are delicious, but they are quite small in size. The seasonal fruit tartlets, such as Shine Muscat Tartlet (432 yen) and Nagano Purple Tartlet (432 yen), also looked delicious.

I visited this place again after passing by. I bought four items: fig tart, shortcake, chestnut Mont Blanc, and Parfait. The cakes were not much different from before. The fig tart had soft and sweet figs, but the tart crust was too hard, making it difficult to eat. The Parfait had ice cream inside with a crispy outer layer, which was delicious at first, but became too sweet after eating half of it. There was something like white chocolate inside the outer layer, but it was not listed in the ingredients, so I wonder what it was. Maybe agar? It would be delicious in a smaller portion. The atmosphere in the store was still lacking liveliness. There was no greeting from the staff, and only a girl with a trainee badge was at the counter. It seemed impossible for her to handle multiple customers alone. I hope they put more effort into customer service. The chestnut Mont Blanc, which I used to enjoy, was also too sweet this time. The apple tart had good cream, but the apples were too sweet for my taste. The seasonal shortcake was just average. The overall atmosphere of the store seemed lacking in energy. I hope the original ERI-san will come back.

I have received this cake as a gift before, but this was my first time visiting the shop! The shop is small and the parking lot is narrow and a bit slanted, so I hesitated with my big car. I went in the evening (after 6 pm) and unfortunately, there weren't many cakes left. I wanted a fancy cake with fruits on top, but it seems like the closing time has changed to 7:30 pm. So, it can't be helped. The parfait with a crispy, round wafer filled with thinly spread white chocolate ice cream was delicious! Thanks to the chocolate, it stayed crispy until the end! Next time, I want to go earlier.

I received a gift from my daughter's friend, K-chan - a package of 6 melt-in-your-mouth puddings. As the name suggests, they really do melt in your mouth. The texture is soft and jiggly, and the spoon scoops it up easily. The cups are small, so I could easily eat two at a time. We all enjoyed them together. I had received a roll cake from this shop before as a souvenir, and heard that "ERI" cakes are delicious. The owner worked at a shop in Fukuoka for 13 years before opening this shop in Kokura Minami-ku 8 years ago. The shop's name comes from the owner's wife's name, ERI. There is a superstition that shops named after the wife are successful. I have a plan to visit a hospital near the shop soon, so I definitely want to visit the shop on my way back.

This shop is a small cake shop that I visited after a long time. The store is quite small, probably can accommodate around 3 people at a time, so it's better to wait outside if it's crowded. The cakes are all small and cute, with prices that are not too high or too low. However, the cakes are all delicious no matter which one you choose. The sponge of the cakes here is very smooth and fluffy, and melts in your mouth. If you try the strawberry shortcake, you will understand this feeling the best. There are also various other types of cakes and baked goods, all with just the right amount of sweetness that I personally like. The staff's customer service is also good. It would be appreciated as a gift.

I've always wanted to try ERI shop, but it was small and unassuming. It's located off the bypass, near Shimosone Station. Turn left at the traffic light, then the shop is immediately on the left. There's parking space for about 2 cars in front of the shop!! The interior of the shop was quite small!! But since I was the only customer... The chiffon cake looked delicious, but it was about 12 cm in diameter and cost 840 yen. Adding whipped cream would make it a little over 1000 yen. I was looking for a roll cake, so I got a plain roll cake for 945 yen. They even cut it into 6 slices as a service. It was fluffy and had a simple taste, but it was addictive. Really fluffy. The cream was not too sweet and had excellent harmony with the cake. On my second visit, I saw croissants when I bought the roll cake, so I came back later to get one, but they were sold out. I decided to try again on a weekday and managed to get a croissant. It was only 126 yen but so big!! Crispy and delicious. It somehow had a hint of cheese flavor. The taste of butter... delicious. It's big in size and cheap!! This will definitely sell out. Besides croissants, there was one more item. I'll look forward to trying it next time.

●March 2010 Revisit●
Before moving, I just had to stop by ERI to get some cake (*^▽^*) This time, I purchased the Chocolate Cream, Charlotte, and Chestnut Shortcake. They were all incredibly delicious and amazing!! Especially the Chocolate Cream was a big hit and I was so impressed \(^▽^)/ The crunchy texture inside was irresistible!! It's a bit sweet, but I highly recommend everyone to try it♪ Also, I found some baked goods in the store that could be used as petit gifts for weddings! The "Congratulations" baked goods with cookie dough inside seemed interesting☆彡 They come in two flavors, sesame and chocolate♪ I will taste them with my partner over the weekend and consider using them as petit gifts(o´艸`o)******
After a long time, I stopped by ERI on my way home from work yesterday♪ I usually buy fresh cakes, but this time I decided to try the pies O(≧∇≦)O★Apple Pie ・・・・・ 1 piece ¥368 【1 whole (15cm) ¥1575】★Fig Pie ・・・・・ 1 piece ¥252★Croissant ・・・・・ ¥126 Both the apple pie and fig pie were filled with plenty of fruit and tasted really delicious☆彡 The croissant was big and crispy and fluffy♪ I was so impressed”(*>ω<)o" It was a perfect happiness to have it with coffee in the morning♪ There was also a Chestnut Pie available. Depending on the season, there are also Blueberry Pies! With Halloween approaching, there were cute Halloween-themed assortments of baked goods available for sale♪

This shop is located in a perfect spot, just beyond Shimosone, making it convenient on the way back. However, every time I went, the parking lot was always full, and I was turned away three times before. But on the fourth try, I finally made it! There are only 2-3 parking spaces in front of the shop. It was crowded, so I refrained from taking photos inside. I bought a few things - the top two items may look the same, but they are actually different. The red one in the middle was probably "Cassis", with a nice balance of sourness and sweetness. As for the mousse-based dessert, I can't remember the name, but it wasn't that tasty, it had a strange bitterness to it. I also bought a roll cake that was shaped like a roll cake but had a cheesecake-flavored souffle inside. It was soft and had a strong sour cream on the inside and a sweeter outer layer. It was an enjoyable roll cake, although the flavor may become a bit overwhelming. Overall, the cakes were creatively made, although some were hit or miss. It would be even better if they had a bigger parking lot.

On September 6th, it was my eldest son's 6th birthday. After considering where to get a cake from, I decided on "ERI". Their cakes are really delicious so I go there occasionally. Since my son loves chocolate, I chose the Crème Chocolat cake for him. It had gold flakes on top which added a touch of luxury. The cake was coated in chocolate with a nice glossy finish. Inside, it was fluffy with chocolate cream and sponge, and it was really delicious. It felt like you could eat as many pieces as you wanted.

From the intersection in front of Gesen Station on National Route 10, enter towards the station side and turn left at the next traffic light, it's right on your right. It's a small cake shop in the local area. I've been here before and I know the place, but the reviews online are surprisingly good so I decided to revisit. This place is famous for its chiffon cake, which is delicious when topped with whipped cream, but this time I tried something different. I went for the cheesecake and cream puff this time. The cheesecake costs 336 yen and has a crust, sponge, cream cheese, and whipped cream layered with blueberries adding flavor. It was really good! The cakes here never disappoint. I always feel safe buying from here. The cream puff costs 168 yen and it was delicious! The inside was filled with cream and it was so good that I almost spilled some. It had just the right amount of sweetness and was delicious. And for 168 yen, it's a great deal!!! My cream puff obsession has been ignited. The prices are reasonable and it's close by, so it's a shop I'd like to visit often!
