On holidays, Ginza is crowded with many people and there are long lines at the revolving sushi restaurant next door with over 100 groups waiting. Unable to wait, we came here instead.
・Special selection: Beef tongue set meal (4 slices) for ¥2354
The set includes beef tongue, barley rice, oxtail soup, yam, egg, and pickles. Despite the price, the set contents are satisfying. The beef tongue is thick, elastic, and juicy. Mixing grated yam and egg into the barley rice, everything matched well and the meal was enjoyable. Surprisingly, the oxtail soup was delicious too! A great choice for when you're in a lunch dilemma in Ginza. Thank you for the meal!

The tail soup that comes with the set is always delicious. The beef tongue is thick and satisfying to eat. I was surprised by how beautiful the egg was. The yolk was incredibly beautiful and went well with the barley rice. I feel like the menu prices have gone up, but maybe it's just my imagination. For this price, I feel like there might be even better places out there.

【Order】Special Beef Tongue Set Meal (6 pieces) ¥2640 (tax included)
I was craving delicious beef tongue, so I visited this place. I was seated at a table and placed my order. In less than 10 minutes, my meal arrived. The shiny beef tongue looked incredibly appetizing. When I took a bite, it was firm yet tender, with a juicy and flavorful taste thanks to the marbling. It truly lives up to the reputation of Liku's beef tongue. I felt like I could easily finish all 6 pieces in no time, so I decided to enjoy some grated yam with barley rice to fill up my stomach. The combination of grated yam, barley rice, and oxtail soup is undeniably delicious, a perfect set for a beef tongue restaurant. What surprised me the most was the richness of the raw egg. The thick, orange yolk paired perfectly with the remaining barley rice. The beef tongue, side dishes, soup, and rice were all delicious, making the set meal a much better choice than ordering individual items.

I had been curious for a while and wanted to try the beef tongue set with something at Nemu Hanamaru on the 10th floor of the restaurant floor. It was packed during weekend lunchtime, but we were seated without waiting. I was in the mood for meat, but the beef tongue set with rice bowls had 2 slices of beef tongue for an additional 500 yen for every 2 slices, but it was a bit over my budget so I just ordered the steak bowl set. It arrived after about a 10-minute wait, but the steak bowl had a strong sauce and though the meat was tender, it had a bit of a strange artificial taste. Even though I wanted to enjoy the beef tongue, the unpleasant taste lingered in my mouth and even the soup couldn't get rid of it. I added grated yam, but since it was a rice bowl, I couldn't mix it well with the sauce. It was a bit of a letdown, considering the price and the fact that it was quite crowded. The lunch set had 3 options with beef tongue, and if you wanted just beef tongue, it would be over 3000 yen for 8 slices, so I thought maybe a certain chain restaurant would have been better. It's not always crowded there, maybe because the prices are higher? Overall, I felt there were other options available. I might hesitate to go back.

I visited around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. The restaurant was quite empty, but next to a popular conveyor belt sushi restaurant where people seemed to give up waiting in line. Today, I decided to have the beef tongue set. The food was served in about 15 minutes. When I took a bite, it was delicious with just the right seasoning! Each dish had a gentle flavor, and even though there was quite a lot, I finished it in no time! The price is reasonable, and it's recommended as it's delicious and surprisingly not crowded!

It's been a while since I had beef tongue set meal, and the deliciousness remains unchanged, but the price is a bit high... However, the chewy texture of beef tongue is great. The combination with barley rice and grated yam is also good. Maybe it was a bit too extravagant for lunch? Thank you for the meal.

The revolving sushi restaurant next to Tokyu Plaza Ginza on the 10th floor is very crowded, but this place was relatively empty. The harami steak bowl and beef tongue set meal were both delicious. The harami meat was very tender with tasty seasoning, and the beef tongue was also tender and satisfying in terms of taste. The restaurant is not very spacious, but the food portions were satisfying.

I was torn between wanting to eat beef tongue and this rice bowl, so I ended up ordering a set! It's a bit more expensive compared to the usual Liku shops, but the taste is definitely different! It was a shame that I couldn't drink beer during the state of emergency, but now I really feel like having one. Inside Tokyu Plaza is crowded and there are many expensive shops, but both places are enjoyable and seem like a good escape.

Located in the restaurant area of Tokyu Plaza is a beef tongue restaurant, a branch of a famous restaurant in Sendai. There are several branches in Tokyo alone. While the sushi restaurant next door had a long line, we were able to easily enter here because the prices are high. The beef tongue set meal starts at 2400 yen, which may be a bit pricey for the average person. The set meal includes grated yam rice, 6 pieces of beef tongue, pickles, and beef tail soup. The combination of these items is fantastic. The beef tongue is thick and perfectly cooked. It goes well with the pickles. Mixing the egg into the grated yam rice was an interesting touch. The beef tongue is not too fatty, making it easy to eat. The only downside is that it is a bit salty. Northern cuisine tends to be salty, but the seasoning of the beef tongue and pickles felt a bit too salty. Balancing it out with the rice helps. If the price was in the mid-1000 yen range, it would be more user-friendly.

It's like a family restaurant with a simple setup, so it's good for when you want to eat beef tongue alone. The food came out relatively quickly. The menu is extensive. The salad tasted average. The beef sushi was not that great. The beef tongue set meal had thick, juicy beef tongue with a satisfying texture, and it was very delicious. The dessert was also delicious! I want to try the hamburger next time.

Dinner on September 1, 2019 (Sunday) with my partner. We walked to Ginza's Tokyu Plaza wondering where to eat, and when we reached the 10th floor, we saw a line at Hanamaru next to Rikyu. We decided to try Rikyu for some beef tongue. They had craft beer, so we tried the 496 (IPL) and FAR YEAST Tokyo White (Wheat Saison), which were delicious. We ordered the low-temperature cooked beef tongue carpaccio (600 yen) and beef tongue sausage (600 yen) as appetizers. Then we each had the special beef tongue set with 3 pieces of 6 slices (2400 yen). The beef tongue was tender and quite tasty. The egg that came with barley rice and yam was rich and very delicious. I had another glass of Asahi Super Dry draft beer, and my partner had a lemon sour. The total bill was 7398 yen. It was a nice experience to have a quick drink and meal with beef tongue.

I didn't know that there was a Yakiniku restaurant in Tokyu Plaza Ginza. I met up with a friend who came for job hunting from Kyoto on this day. We ordered the beef tongue and yakiniku set, and the portion was quite filling. The yakiniku had a better quality of meat and richness of fat compared to the beef tongue, leaving a lasting impression. The beef tongue at Yakiniku restaurants is like this, not sizzling on a hot plate, so it quickly loses its deliciousness. I haven't found a beef tongue restaurant that I love yet, so if you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them.

◯After returning from Odaiba, we arrived at around 18:30 and were immediately seated.◯The grilled beef tongue sushi was all delicious.◯The aged beef tongue with yuzu pepper miso was also tasty, and competed well with the beef tongue sushi.◯We also ordered beef tongue dumplings (forgot the name of the dish), which were also good.◯The Sanzokuage from Teikizan was delicious, and the ginger was a nice touch.◯My favorite was the special selection beef tongue, but everything was delicious and a must-try for beef tongue lovers.

After finishing work, I finally went to the long-awaited Toshikatsu Sen. I have always loved the crispy and fragrant beef tongue at Toshikatsu, so I had been wanting to go there when I had some extra money. It was a Saturday, so the staff seemed a bit busy, but their attentive and pleasant service made me feel comfortable.
- Appetizer with draft beer
The appetizer was marinated dish and chawanmushi. I was planning to drink beer, but I suddenly felt like having sake from this point on.
- Beef tongue yukke style with draft beer
This dish had a crunchy texture that was enjoyable. The sauce was rich, which went well with the beer.
- Beef tongue sushi with Hakurakusei sake
I remember there was beef tongue roast beef, beef tongue shabu-shabu style, and beef tongue sukiyaki style. After taking a bite, I immediately thought this was a sake dish! So, I ended up ordering Hakurakusei sake. Even though Hakurakusei is usually paired with seafood, it surprisingly went well with this simple and elegant beef tongue sushi.
- Beef tongue (a la carte) with Suminoe Sen
The beef tongue at Toshikatsu was thicker and chewier than usual, and it had a rich aroma. I couldn't help but be impressed by this special beef tongue.
- Boiled tongue with Hitoriki
By this point, I was completely satisfied, and I even forgot to take a photo of this dish. It had a soft and mellow taste that soaked into my body, making the alcohol go down smoothly. I was told that Hitoriki was included in this dish, so I happily ordered it.
- Beef tongue set meal
For the finale, I had to order this again! I ended up eating too much and couldn't finish it, so I had to apologize to the beef. However, there's no way that something that goes well with alcohol doesn't go well with rice. The stable deliciousness of the meal left me completely satisfied.
I was a bit hesitant at the bill because I wanted to try everything, but the price was reasonable. I haven't tried dishes like beef tongue steak or dishes made with Tohoku ingredients, so I would like to come back when I have saved up enough money. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited during a weekday lunchtime. The restaurant was not crowded, and I was seated at a counter-like table towards the back of the empty dining area. I was served tea and a thin, flat hand towel in a plastic bag. There were several lunch menu options, but I chose the set with fried chicken for 1500 yen (excluding tax). After a short wait, the food was served. The miso soup shown in the menu photo was actually pork soup, but otherwise, the dishes looked similar to the pictures. The main dish, tongue, and fried chicken were all delicious, but I was a bit disappointed by the small size of the fried chicken and the mismatch in size between the grated radish container. Also, I felt that 1620 yen for only three pieces of tongue was a bit expensive. Overall, I didn't have to wait in line and could eat right away, which was good, but I felt that the cost performance was a bit lacking.

The taste was very satisfying. The beef tongue was full of flavor. The grated yam was not just a side dish, but could stand on its own even without the set meal. The only issue is the cost performance. Due to the location, it may be understandable, but it might not be suitable for everyday dining.

(Visited on January 25, 2019) After finishing work, I decided to have tea at a cafe and then have dinner in Ginza for the first time in a while. My wife wanted something salty to eat, so we decided to try out the Gyutan restaurant in Tokyu Plaza on the 10th floor. It was still early, so there weren't many customers, and we were seated at a quiet table to the left. We were served cold tea and the menu was explained to us. The recommended dishes for the day included Oyster Confit, Oyster Fry, and a limited quantity Kamayaki which was not listed as a recommendation. We decided to try the Oyster Confit for 600 yen, the chef's assorted skewers (5 pieces) for 1000 yen, and the Kamayaki for 500 yen (excluding tax). First came the Oyster Confit. The oysters were quite small in size, almost like a marinated dish. It was refreshing and delicious. Next was the skewers. It was a unique combination, but a common sight in Hakata. There were 5 different skewers, all of which were tasty. The dishes made with Gyutan were quite rich in flavor. When dipped in the spicy garlic sauce, the taste became more well-rounded. Lastly, we tried the Kamayaki. Surprisingly, it was quite filling with generous portions of sea bream and amberjack. It was a good deal. We arrived before 6 pm, so we were able to secure a table. This is Gyutan Rikyu, right? I was surprised by the variety of dishes other than Gyutan. Thank you for the meal.

Northeastern Set Meal ¥1800. It was cold, so the sweet potato stew was very delicious and warmed me up. I enjoyed being able to try various types of meat in small portions. The grilled beef tongue was thick and satisfying. The frozen strawberry pudding for dessert was almost like sherbet because it was frozen.

I visited the restaurant after 3 months due to being busy with work. I was grateful for the warm welcome as always. The menu had changed, which made me even more excited! The Caesar salad wrapped in meat skewers on the hot plate was truly impressive! It was wrapped with pork, beef, and beef tongue, and I was moved by how well they went together. The fried saury, unique to this restaurant, was also delicious. Despite already eating 3 pieces of beef tongue as an appetizer, I couldn't resist ordering the set meal as well! Today, I finally fulfilled my long-time desire and ordered the set meal with 5 pieces of beef tongue (10 slices). I finished it all! My husband chose the Sendai celery hot pot. What is this? It's too delicious. Today, once again, I received a lot of happiness. Thank you very much. It was a feast...

* August 2018. When I visited Rikyu before dinner, I had planned to go to Tsurutontan, but it was unexpectedly crowded, so I ended up going to Rikyu. And this time, the same pattern. It's not like I chose it by process of elimination, but... Tsurutontan was too busy!!
★ Plum wine
★ Grilled beef tongue with green onions
★ Thick beef tongue (3 pieces)
Thick and crunchy beef tongue. Not tough, with just the right amount of fat, delicious♪ The pickles on the side are spicy. lol
★ Beef tongue and summer vegetables shabu-shabu
This time, I didn't order white rice, so I tried a few beef tongue dishes.
