It had been a year since my last visit. I went to check on the farm and ended up buying various things at Eranou Village, but I missed lunchtime. I was thinking of trying a new restaurant, but many were sold out, so I ended up here. The batter was a little hard, but the meat was tender and the sauce was delicious. I also tried a bit of the curry, and it was tasty too.

I visited for lunch in search of delicious meat as it is directly managed by the ranch. It was relatively empty as it was midday on a weekday. The building has a retro feel and is very calming. I had high expectations for the meat, so I ordered the tonkatsu set meal with an additional side of hormone. The tonkatsu was thick but very tender, with a refined oil that was delicious! I had seconds of rice and savored the hormone. The pork hormone had a good chewiness, and the sauce made the rice even more enjoyable. Delicious! I also wanted to try the ginger pork.

Crispy and juicy tonkatsu set meal for 1280 yen. The pork used is from Shoyama Farm and has a light and crispy coating with flavorful meat. The miso soup and side salad were also delicious. Will definitely go back again.

Ever since discovering the pork miso pickle at JA Zenno Earina no Sato's Shozan Farm, I have been captivated by its deliciousness. The miso pickle that has penetrated deep into the cells of the pork is irresistibly tasty! After finishing work at 9 o'clock and getting stuck in traffic due to emergency construction, it took me 40 minutes from Dazaifu Interchange to Chikushino Interchange. I stopped by Tachiarai for horse sashimi, Chikuzen Town for chicken sashimi and beef tendon curry bread, and bought pork miso pickle from Shozan Farm at JA Zenno Earina no Sato, all by 1 o'clock. It was lunchtime on a hungry Saturday, and all the popular restaurants were full. Should I go to Boboya? Or a sushi restaurant in Chikushino? There's also a hamburger shop in Chikuzen Town that looks interesting. Speaking of hamburgers, there's also Curry & Hamburger Yamato Chikuzen Branch. No, I'm too hungry now. If I go all the way to Chikuzen Town now, I'll starve to death. Let's eat something in Yoshii Town. That's right! There's a restaurant directly operated by Shozan Farm in Yoshii Town. Even though it was past 1 o'clock, Restaurant Shozan was packed. The menu includes tonkatsu, pork with herbs, pork ginger, pork miso pickle, fried chicken, curry rice, and katsudon. I just bought pork miso pickle, pork with herbs, and pork ginger at JA Zenno Earina no Sato earlier. So, I ruled out fried chicken. In that case, I narrowed it down to tonkatsu, curry rice, and katsudon. If I want to taste the pork directly from the livestock farm's direct store, it has to be tonkatsu! A tender tonkatsu that has been pounded over and over. It's similar to Maruichi in Kagoshima or Hiro in Nagao, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City. Despite being loin meat, the fat doesn't taste like pork fat. It seamlessly integrates into the body as if extracting its own fat and transplanting it elsewhere without any rejection. A huge tonkatsu weighing around 180g. As I enjoy the pleasure of eating meat, the pig eats the pork. It's said to be an insult to compare someone to a pig, but it's more than just an insult, it's a blasphemy against the dignity of pigs. Pigs that make someone happy. Thanks to the pigs, I am now savoring the joy of living. Kyushu Passes are gone, and I can no longer go to Kagoshima. I can't buy the Sakurajima Biyu Pork anymore. But Fukuoka has Shozan Farm.

It's a restaurant that my partner has been wanting to go to for a while. My partner had the tonkatsu set meal and I had the ginger pork set meal. I don't remember the exact price, but it was a little over 2,000 yen, so quite reasonable. When we paid at the register, there was an option to get the ginger pork as a takeout for 550 yen, so we decided to try it. It tasted almost the same as eating in the restaurant! If we have the chance to go back again, we would love to have a meal there and get some takeout.

There is a shop near the Senen Koto intersection on Route 210 Bypass. It may be a bit hard to find. It's a direct-operated store of Shoyama Farm, where you can enjoy delicious pork dishes like shabu-shabu and tonkatsu. During Friday dinner time, only one table was available, the rest were reserved. Lucky me. I ordered the tonkatsu set meal (tax included 1200 yen). There are two types of sauce, sweet and spicy. The coating was crispy, and the pork was perfectly cooked with a hint of pink. The sweet sauce with white sesame seeds and a moderate amount of ground mustard was a perfect match for the juicy pork. The meat, including the fat, was tender and sweet. It's been a while since I've had tonkatsu this delicious. Even the rice, miso soup, and simmered daikon were well-prepared. Of course, there's cabbage with Japanese dressing too. The miso soup was also delicious with lots of ingredients. Tonkatsu made with carefully selected pork. Thank you for the meal!

Review of the restaurant "Shozan" that was recommended by Mairebi-sama. The location seems hard to find, even with a map. Let's set it in the navigation and go check it out! Heading east on National Route 210, past Uwabu Bypass, after about 2 minutes by car past Yume Mart, the navigation will indicate the destination. There is a sign saying "Kasen no Yakata" there, but when you drive into the premises, you'll see a large Japanese-style building which seems to be the restaurant. I arrived at 11:35. I parked my car and headed towards the restaurant, where a couple of customers were waiting outside on chairs. I wrote my name in the reception book and waited for a while. After 6-7 minutes, a staff member called my name and led me inside. The main building seemed to be renovated from an old merchant's house, divided into areas on the right and left. The left side was already full, so I was guided to the building on the right. The atmosphere of the retro-modern building was quite nice, with mosquito coils burning along the way. The interior had a spacious, old farmhouse-like feel. The ceiling beams were exposed, and the wooden chairs and tables on the floor added to the ambiance. It seems that when the left area is full, they open up the right area. As I was dining alone, I was seated at a 4-person table. The specialty dish here seems to be "tonkatsu" according to reviews, but I was intrigued by the "Horumon Teishoku (1,030 yen, tax included)". When I asked, I found out it was pork horumon. I ordered it and asked for extra rice, which they happily accommodated. The service was quick, and the food was served promptly. The dish consisted of shredded cabbage, horumon on top, along with side dishes, rice, miso soup, and pickles. The horumon had a chewy texture and a unique flavor that grew on me. The miso soup was average. The side dish was hijiki. Since the main dish was just horumon and side dish, it felt a bit monotonous. It might be more enjoyable if they had a set with tonkatsu and horumon together. Overall, considering the price including the atmosphere, I would recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

It had been a while since my last visit. Today, I had the katsudon and it was delicious with just the right amount of seasoning, not too strong or too light.

I couldn't find the entrance to the restaurant and ended up wandering around, but I eventually found it with its old folk house style. I had a leisurely meal with plenty of food and the meat was tender. I would like to go back again in the future.

I had a tonkatsu set meal on September 8, 2018, but the meat on the edge of the tonkatsu had a lot of gristle and it seemed like it wasn't properly prepared. To make matters worse, the meat was tough and completely different from the first time I tried tonkatsu. It's a shame. I hope to encounter the delicious tonkatsu I had before next time.
