On the second day of their Fukuoka trip with her mother, Kami arrived at Moji Port. While strolling near Moji Port Station, they came across a sign that said "Baked Curry." They remembered that baked curry was a local specialty here, so they decided to enter the restaurant. They ordered a hamburger baked curry to share between Kami, her mother, and her mother. Kami also ordered a croquette. The three of them also ordered beer. The baked curry arrived, topped with plenty of cheese, giving it a mild flavor. Although the couple usually prefers spicy curry, they found this gentle curry to be delicious. The curry had a generous amount of sauce and the hamburger was satisfying. This gentle curry is the specialty baked curry of Moji Port. They enjoyed sharing it together. The croquette was decent. Thank you for the meal.

I had baked curry for the first time at Moji Port. The restaurant, "Kaimon Ichiba," is located inside the market and has both indoor and outdoor terrace seating. I chose a classic baked curry with eggs and cheese inside, and it was delicious. I ate on the terrace, and the curry was hot and stayed warm until the end. They also serve beer and some snacks like potatoes and sausages.

I used both the dine-in and takeout options. The banana soft serve had a strong banana flavor and was delicious!! The cheese potatoes were fluffy inside and tasty ( 〃 ˆᴗˆ 〃 ) The cheese was powdered so the cheese flavor wasn't very strong, but the potatoes were delicious so I recommend it! The portion was also filled all the way to the bottom! As for the rumored best croquette in Japan...hmm?! I don't think it's the best. haha It's honestly a bit overpriced at 200 yen. Croquettes should be cheap and delicious!

A restaurant near the bascule bridge specializing in baked curry. The atmosphere inside is targeted towards young people. The tables and chairs are casual, making it easy to enjoy a meal. Order and pay at the counter. I ordered the number one popular dish, whale cutlet baked curry. After waiting for about five minutes, the dish was ready. A gratin-style baked curry topped with whale cutlet. The combination of curry and whale meat is excellent. It reminds me of the whale meat I used to eat in my childhood. Enjoying a meal while overlooking the view of Moji Port is a blissful moment.

I had lunch at Moji Port Retro when I visited. It was lunchtime and the indoor seats were full. There were many customers, so it took some time to be served. I ordered the famous baked curry. It was a shame that it was served on a paper plate, but the taste was delicious. I don't often eat baked curry in restaurants, so it was a fresh experience. There are many baked curry restaurants in this area, so it seems fun to compare them with other restaurants.

I arrived at Fukuoka Airport in the morning and headed straight to Mojiko Port by taking the Sonic Limited Express train. It was around lunchtime, so I decided to first grab a bite at a famous curry restaurant known for its baked curry. It seemed to be a sister store of Mojiko Retro Dining, but the restaurant was not listed on Tabelog, so I had some doubts. I ordered the specialty dish, the Blowfish Baked Curry, which cost around 980 yen. After waiting for about 15 minutes, my order was ready. The curry was topped with plenty of cheese, which melted and stretched beautifully. The curry had a good amount of spices, but it lacked a bit of spiciness for my taste. The blowfish used was small and usually found in fry dishes, but the white meat definitely had the unique blowfish flavor. The portion of the curry was surprisingly small, and by the time I finished, I still felt a bit unsatisfied. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was more like a cafe, and it was easy to enter. On that day, there were school trip students enjoying snacks like potato fries. Next to the restaurant, there was a famous shop that won the grand prize in a croquette food competition, so getting their croquettes to go would also be a good option. In conclusion, I prefer baked curry with plenty of cheese. Since I had some room in my stomach that day, I decided to try another baked curry afterwards.

There were several shops selling Mojiko Retro Soft Serve, but I stopped at Anchor for a break and tried it. The soft serve had a taste of freshly made banana.

Curry baked in the oven for 840 yen. Rented a bicycle in Moji Port to cycle to Kanmon Bridge to work up an appetite. Previously took a bus from Shimonoseki and walked through the underground tunnel at Kanmon Strait to Moji Port, but this time did it in reverse. However, due to time and energy constraints, did not take the road but turned back at Kanmon-Kaikyo Station. Considered taking a break at Wakamatsuya where I visited last year. Returned to Moji Port after 2 pm and, although not hungry, had to try the local specialty. Did not visit the second target, Kohanemushi, which closes at 3 pm, so decided to try a different place for baked curry. It seemed more like a cafe that jumped on the baked curry bandwagon for tourists. The baked curry looked great, but the curry itself tasted like store-bought retort curry, with small pieces of potatoes and carrots. Understandable for a tourist spot, but since I had already tried the local specialty, I'll let it slide. Now it's time to leave Moji Port, either head straight to the Shinkansen from Kokura or grab a bite in the area before heading back. Lunch visit #2 on November 4, 2014. Delicious!
