Affordable Price #Hakata Kisuiraku Hakata Hankyu Store {Hakata Station, Hakata Ward} I visited Hakata Kisuiraku at Hakata Hankyu Store on August 4, 2023 (Friday). Kisuiraku is located in the food court on the basement floor of Hakata Hankyu. This store is the most affordable among the locations at Hakata Station, KITTE Building's basement and 9th floor, and Hakata Ichibangai with 4 stores. What's great about Kisuiraku is the all-you-can-eat mentaiko (spicy cod roe)! You can choose from the menu with the words "mentaiko topping all-you-can-eat." I was torn between the Ebi-Ten (shrimp tempura) set meal and the Tempura set meal, but I decided on the Tempura set meal. There are also plenty of rice bowl menu options. It seems like there is no mentaiko topping all-you-can-eat for rice bowl dishes here. Perhaps it's a new product, they also have a seafood dashi chazuke bowl. I might try that soon too. I got the Tempura set meal @990 yen (tax included). It comes with pickles and all-you-can-eat mentaiko. You can freely refill the mentaiko. First, I put all the mentaiko on the rice and then took the empty plate to get a refill of mentaiko. The tempura included green pepper, squid, shrimp, kisu (Japanese sillago), eggplant, and pumpkin. The kisu was delicious. The squid was crispy and tender, very tasty. I saved the shrimp, my favorite, for last. It was a satisfying meal with the all-you-can-eat mentaiko. Visited for lunch on Saturday. The food section at the underground floor of Hakata Hankyu was quite crowded. Visited Kizumaru in the food court. Ordered "Shrimp Tempura Bowl" for 935 yen and "Salmon Bowl" for 1,100 yen. Prices include tax. Both come with miso soup. After ordering, you receive a number tag for payment. Soy sauce and sauce are only available at the pick-up counter, which is a bit reassuring. The shrimp tempura bowl comes with 3 shrimp and 3 types of vegetables: eggplant, bell pepper, and pumpkin. It seems like they fry it after taking the order, so it's piping hot. The sauce is a bit sweet, which I liked. The miso soup is also piping hot. My eldest daughter loves salmon and ordered the salmon bowl without hesitation. I didn't taste it myself, but it seems like she enjoyed it.

I wanted to eat seafood bowl so I went to a food court that seemed easy to enter even for one person. However, the seafood bowl that came out was a bit different from the photo. It cost 1430 yen. The staff were friendly, and when I was hesitating about which soy sauce to choose, they gave me two soy sauce dishes, which made me feel warm inside.

I ordered the "seafood bowl" for 858 yen including tax. Miso soup is included in the set. You can choose between vinegared rice and white rice for the bowl. The seafood toppings vary depending on the day's ingredients. On that day, there were 2 pieces each of tuna, amberjack, squid, and salmon, as well as tuna sashimi. It also had shiso leaves and chopped green onions. The sashimi slices were not thick, so you couldn't really feel the texture. The freshness was average. Considering the high tenant fees, I think the price of 858 yen including tax is reasonable for what they are offering.

It also came with pickles and miso soup. It was a great lunch option. I definitely want to go back again. Next time, I might try the tempura set, which comes with unlimited mentaiko.

I ordered the Ladies' Tempura Set (759 yen including tax), which included tempura made with successfully dieted shrimp, bell pepper, pumpkin, and eggplant. The tempura was crispy and delicious, and it came with a slightly sweet tempura dipping sauce with grated daikon radish, although I felt it could use a bit more spice. The set also came with spicy cod roe, pickled radish, rice, which was of average quality and served in a small portion from the start, and miso soup. The tempura ingredients were standard, but freshly fried, and the convenience of being open all day was a plus.

Returned to Hakata Station and had a late lunch at the seafood bowl and tempura restaurant, Hakata Kisuimaru, located in the Hankyu underground food court. I ordered a set meal with both tempura and a mini seafood bowl. It's a perfect menu for indecisive people like me, as you can enjoy both dishes together. My daughter and I shared the meal, with my daughter eating most of the seafood bowl and some of the tempura, while I only had a few pieces of tempura. Overall, the taste and value for money at this food court restaurant were not bad.

At around 11:40 on a regular day, I had lunch alone at the food court in Hakata Hankyu (although it's not very spacious). Today, I had the Kizumaru tendon for 550 yen (excluding tax). I paid first (of course, I showed my Hankyu point card to get 1% points), received a number tag, and waited at a nearby counter seat. Since there was no one in line at the order counter, I expected to be served quickly, but it turned out that the people sitting around were also waiting for their orders. It took almost 15 minutes after payment before my number was called. At the serving counter, there were pickles and grated radish available for self-service. I took some grated radish on my plate and returned to my counter seat to eat. The tempura was delicious, freshly fried. The sauce for the tendon was not too sweet, with a slightly strong soy sauce flavor. Personally, I would have preferred less sauce. The miso soup had seaweed that was still crunchy and not softened, which was a bit hard. However, considering the price, it was a good deal for a tendon bowl.

Seafood Tempura in Hakata - Kizumaru Hakata Had lunch at Kizumaru Hakata in Hakata. Instead of the usual, I went to the food court in the basement of Hakata Hankyu Department Store where Kizumaru is located. They offer seafood bowls as well, but since I'm in Hakata, I had to go for the tempura. I ordered the "Mixed Tempura Set (shrimp, pork, mackerel, squid, green pepper, eggplant, shiitake)" for 864 yen with extra rice for 54 yen. The rice portion was a bit small for a large size. The tempura had a decent batter and was delicious. They fry it without gluten, which was nice. It came with spicy cod roe and mentaiko, which is a nice touch of Hakata. It was really delicious.

I went to a restaurant located in the basement of Hankyu Hakata right next to Hakata Station called "Hankyu Umakadining" in the food court. It used to be an udon shop, but it had changed to a tempura shop at some point. I decided to try the lighter option, the Ladies Tempura Set, from the menu. It was prepared relatively quickly after ordering, but the rice portion was light as expected for a ladies' set. The tempura included shrimp, fish, and vegetables, with a light coating that could have been a bit crispier. However, the taste was refined for a food court, and it was nice to be able to enjoy freshly fried tempura.

I had the "Tenpura Set Meal" for 864 yen. The tempura included shrimp, bell pepper, pork, burdock (3 strips), mackerel, pumpkin, and squid. It was served with tempura dipping sauce. The meal also came with rice, spicy cod roe, squid salted guts, miso soup, and sweetened beans. It was a reasonably priced tempura set meal that was easy to enjoy, and I had no complaints about the quality compared to the cost. I found the restaurant to be convenient. I paid with Edy, and they also accept nationwide compatible transportation IC cards.

Hakata Station is very convenient☆ It's a place I often visit, but this time was quite disappointing. The ingredients were surprisingly small (；∀；) Thin shrimp unlike the photo on the menu. Pumpkin that was only about 1mm thick. Burdock like thin chips. Pork that was over-fried and turned into a fossil. Eggplant listed on the menu was missing for some reason. I will upload photos for comparison with the menu image. The squid was already eaten so it's not in the photo. I hope they improve as it's a favorite place of mine. Taste 4/10, Atmosphere 6/10, Value for money 6/10, Service 5/10, Willingness to revisit 5/10.

I've been curious about this restaurant for a while. It seems like there's also a tempura restaurant at KITTE Hakata. But what I really want to try is the tempura set meal. We love tempura and eat it often, so I might be a bit picky. I decided to go with the tempura set meal. It included whiting, mackerel, pumpkin, green pepper, shrimp, and something like asparagus. Wow! They were all delicious!! So crispy and crunchy! The staff were young part-timers, so I honestly didn't expect much, but turns out they were amazing at what they do. They also had salted squid and spicy cod roe as side dishes, and they were both delicious as well. Usually cod roe can be hit or miss, but this one was really good! I have a small appetite, but the food was so delicious that I couldn't get enough rice! I wonder if they have a large portion option? I'll have to ask next time.
