When I visited before, there was no sashimi available, so the focus was on fried and grilled dishes. This time, I ordered sashimi first. As a result, I may have been less satisfied than last time. The beer was not very cold and had less foam, which I liked. The oden was decent.

I remember having a company drinking party at a restaurant located a 5-minute walk from Kyushu Institute of Technology Station on the JR Kagoshima Main Line in Tobata Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The building seems to have been renovated and looks new, but the atmosphere and menu are familiar. I remember the oden being delicious. It is unrelated to the Sake Bar Musashi in Kokura Uomachi. There are many restaurants with similar names in Kokura, like Daikichi. The menu is extensive and it's easy to get confused. I chose pork belly, gizzard, and chicken skin over grilled dishes, along with a sashimi assortment for 800 yen and a draft beer for 500 yen. While taking photos, I asked if it was okay, and was told it wasn't preferred. The owner or perhaps the son seemed to dislike having the restaurant and food photographed. The sashimi assortment arrived after about 5 minutes and included sea bream, yellowtail, salmon, and more. It was good! The yakitori was also ready in about 10 minutes and was quite tasty, all seasoned with salt. However, after being told not to take photos, my enthusiasm waned and I didn't order anything else. It was a bit disappointing to focus on photography. But the sashimi was good, and overall, Musashi in Tobata wasn't bad. However, I probably won't visit again. Thank you for the meal. It was a nostalgic experience.

We went with three friends in January. We probably won't go there again. They should improve the training of the part-time staff. The service, taste, cost performance, and everything else were unacceptable. I remember it being good when I visited in the past, but I think I'll go to Kokura or Kurosaki after all.

JR Kyushu Kogyodai-mae Station is about a 2-minute walk away. Izakaya Musashi. [First visit] I saw the owner posting daily information on the internet like "I prepared this today" and thought I would give it a try. That day, it was the second stop, and it was around 9 pm, with almost all customers gone, and the atmosphere in the shop was relaxed. It felt like the end of business hours. The interior of the shop has counter seats and tatami mats. The decor is based on wood, with a well-worn atmosphere. Since there was no menu in hand, I had to use my rusty logan skills to read what was written on the blackboard. Here's what was written: Red clam 650 yen, Hirame sashimi 600 yen, Sea bream sashimi 600 yen, Bluefin tuna sashimi 980 yen, Ariake clam butter 600 yen, Cold tofu with shredded dried baby sardines 400 yen, Pickled sardines 350 yen, Oden dog 300 yen, Grilled eggplant 400 yen, Grilled hirame collar 650 yen, Fish nanban-zuke 400 yen, White liver skewers 200 yen, Wakamatsu drained tomatoes 350 yen, and other items including oden, a Musashi specialty. I ordered the following: There are many sake options, but I had sweet potato shochu that day. ◆ Otoshi - Sesame hirame, perhaps? Sweet soy sauce seasoning. Since this was served, I didn't order the sashimi I had planned. ◆ White liver skewers - After ordering, a regular customer recommended, "This is delicious," "You can trust me." I ordered two skewers. The sauce was sweet and sticky. The white liver was fatty and well grilled. I see. The owner is a laid-back man. There were two women who seemed to be from the shop and one regular customer. A relaxed atmosphere. That day, there was a feeling that the shop was about to close, so my stay was short, but it was a calming place. [Second visit] I was curious and decided to give it another try. The cheerful owner seemed to remember my face. ◆ Oden tofu - I was somewhat forcibly recommended by the shop's No.2 mother, "It's definitely delicious," "I'm not lying," (laughs) Simmered tofu. Topped with green onions, ginger, and other condiments. The flavors were gentle and delicious. A good start. ◆ Raw rock oysters (800 yen) - Summer oysters. The mothers No.1 and No.2 sitting behind me were chatting, "People who drink alcohol like this kind of thing," "How is it? Is it delicious?" The taste was slightly bland, but the flesh was large and firm. Delicious! ◆ Conger eel with vinegar miso (400 yen) - Yubaed conger eel with vinegar miso. The flesh was soft, but the skin was chewy and elastic. At this price, it's a bargain. ◆ Marinated bonito sashimi - Finally, I wanted another snack, so I requested something from the owner. Quickly, marinated bonito sashimi was served. Slightly sweet soy sauce flavor. The ginger and garlic were just right, and it was excellent! My spirits were lifted. There is quite a variety of sake brands, and there are plenty of daily menu options, making it a good place for everyday use. Thank you for the meal.

First of all, it should be noted that this restaurant has no relation to the famous and traditional izakaya called Musashi located near Kokura Station. This place is located near Kyushu Institute of Technology Station. The restaurant has tatami seating, and it feels like an old inn with multiple tables lined up in the tatami area, separated only by sliding doors from the adjacent room. If you're not a fan of this kind of atmosphere, you might want to avoid it. However, if you enjoy a lively and bustling atmosphere with a group of people, you'll love it here. The menu consists of classic izakaya dishes and seafood, with the seafood being sourced fresh from the market every morning, so the menu may vary depending on the day. However, if you visit late or when the restaurant is busy, there may be items that are sold out (although this could be just a coincidence). Enjoy the izakaya menu and some shochu like Kuro Kirishima without focusing too much on the fish. The service is casual and friendly, fitting the vibe of a typical casual izakaya. Instead of silently savoring the food, enjoy the sake and dishes as a lubricant for a fun and lively atmosphere. I don't mind this kind of place, it's quite enjoyable.

Located right near Kyushu Institute of Technology, this restaurant can accommodate groups. They offer a wide variety of dishes, but the taste is average. The appetizers were not very appealing after visiting a few times. The most troublesome aspect is the yakitori, as they seem to use a large machine to grill and require ordering at least three skewers of the same type. It's not very solo-friendly, so I recommend going with a group.

◉Genre: Izakaya, Oden ◉Area: Nakahara, Tobata-ku, Kitakyushu City ◉Access: Less than 5 minutes on foot from JR Kyukodai-mae Station ◉Parking: Available ◉Credit card payment: Accepted ◉Number of visits: 2nd visit ◉Number of reviews: 1st review On this day, I decided to drop by "Musashi" spontaneously. ◇Exterior and Interior This izakaya is located in Nakahara Nishi, Tobata-ku, Kitakyushu City, a rare restaurant in Tobata that offers oden and yakitori. It is a detached house facing the former bus-only road, and at first glance, it doesn't look like a typical izakaya, but other elements make up for it. ◇Seating I used takeout on this day, so I will skip this section. ◇Menu Composition It doesn't seem like they have a fully equipped takeout menu, but they will probably accommodate various orders besides oden. Here is what I ordered: - Oden On this day, I was in the mood for oden after work. However, since I came by car and couldn't drink, I decided to get it as takeout. Of course, I called in advance to confirm. This turned out to be the most cost-effective option. (laughs) The lineup included tofu, egg, konjac, tendon, and a complimentary daikon. The oden at this restaurant is a rare blend type in Kitakyushu, with a rich and slightly light taste that is different and good. Especially the tofu and konjac were great. What's even better is that they provide mustard on the side! (laughs) ◆Strong Points The oden here is delicious and unique in Kitakyushu. ◆Service Average but warm. ◆Summary I have been using this place since my Tobata days. It can accommodate large groups, so it's suitable for company gatherings as well! Thank you for the meal! ^_^
