During a business trip to Hakata, I went on a tour of the Hankyu department store basement♡ After wandering around the cake shops in Hankyu's basement, I finally decided to try this shop that I had not tried before. The season was autumn, and what captured my heart was, of course, pumpkin sweets♡♡♡ There were various colorful cakes on display at the counter. The shop's recommendation seemed to be the Fruit Box, a cake box packed full of fruits! There were also stylish cup-shaped desserts like rare cheesecake mousse, chocolate mousse, and shortcake-style desserts. They also had popular items like roll cakes for souvenirs. The baked goods included cookies with flavors like soybean flour, sesame, sweet potato, and chestnut. The packaging had a stylish Japanese touch to it. This time, I only bought fresh cakes☆
Pumpkin Tart 380 yen
A beautiful golden pumpkin♡ This is the ideal pumpkin Mont Blanc! The wavy pumpkin cream is quite rich in pumpkin flavor, but smooth. It has a light sprinkle of cinnamon, enhancing the sweetness and aroma of the pumpkin! Below that, there is a little bit of whipped cream. This one has a lightly sweet and refreshing cream to not overpower the pumpkin flavor. And in the center, there is a pumpkin mousse♡ This is also rich, with a solid texture that retains some of the pumpkin's fibers. Yes, it tastes like pumpkin and it's delicious. And the tartlet. It's a crispy cookie tartlet, but surprisingly, the almond cream usually used has pumpkin mixed in! From top to bottom, it's a triple pumpkin delight! Simply amazing☆ If only there were slices of pumpkin on top, it would have been perfect☆☆ I rate it 4.2.
Chestnut Mousse 380 yen
I think the name is different... I'm weak when it comes to seasonal items, so I ended up buying two. This one comes in a stylish cocktail cup, with layers of chestnut mousse, whipped cream, wine and chestnut jelly, chestnut cream, and a macaron and chestnut on top. I'll leave out the macaron because I'm not a fan of chocolate. This is also a chestnut-flavored mousse cake! The chestnut cream is not too creamy but has a perfect paste-like texture. Underneath, there is a light whipped cream that balances everything out. Surprisingly, there's a slice of candied chestnut in the jelly. Candied chestnut on a Mont Blanc cake? I was skeptical, but the elegant aroma of wine and chestnut adds a sophisticated touch, lightening up the usually heavy Mont Blanc! Under that is the chestnut mousse, which is smooth~ This one is also elegant. You can enjoy various chestnut flavors and I highly recommend it! I rate it 4.0.
Service: When I said I needed it for 1 hour, they gave me 4 ice packs. They pack the cups securely to prevent them from tipping over. I was able to safely bring them home♪ Overall: Hakata Hankyu Department Store Basement Sweets☆ Among the numerous patisseries in Hakata, this place offers top-notch flavors! The classic cakes are stylish, and the seasonal cakes are carefully crafted and incredibly delicious! I appreciate the meticulous work that values the ingredients♪ Next time, I'll try the rare cheesecake mousse that was in the top rankings♪ I was torn between that and the fig tart from another shop, but in the end, pumpkin won. That choice was not wrong, and I am very satisfied. It was a fun day at the department store basement after a long time♪ More to come. Starting from registering as a new member...!! I wonder if someone will do it for me...
