It was around 11 o'clock on Friday when two of us casually visited! The restaurant has full glass windows, so the bright atmosphere with natural light coming in is great. We ordered the Japanese-style hamburger for 1,133 yen and the pork and mushroom porcini special for 1,705 yen, totaling 2,838 yen. The hot cocoa from the drink bar was surprisingly delicious, made with Van Houten. It was a reliable family restaurant. The restaurant has a rating of 3.06 on Tabelog as of March 2023.

On February 11th, in between my all-day pass trip on the Minatomirai Line, Tokyu Line, and Tokyo Metro Line, I had dinner at the Royal Host Shinjuku store. The store was conveniently located near Nishi-Shinjuku Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, just a short walk from exit 2, along a small path next to the Tokyo Medical University Hospital. Despite it being a holiday, the restaurant was almost full, but luckily I was seated at a solo table. I ordered the Double Onion Gratin Soup, which was different from the regular Onion Gratin Soup as it came with two cheese toasts and a larger portion, providing a satisfying experience. Then, I enjoyed the main dish - the signature menu item at Royal Host, the Black x Black Hamburg Steak made with black beef and black pork mince, with rice. I opted for the larger 250g portion this time. The Hamburg Steak had a nice rounded shape, unlike the ones from other restaurants, and was juicy and flavorful without being too fatty. I chose the Garlic Cream Sauce from the three sauce options available. For drinks, I had cola, iced cocoa, and oolong tea, with the iced cocoa standing out for its perfect balance of sweetness and richness. I started with regular white rice and then tried the mixed grain rice for the second serving, which turned out surprisingly delicious. For dessert, I had the Double Choice Ice Cream with two scoops of vanilla, topped with whipped cream. The staff, including the older male, young male, and young female, provided excellent service. The young male staff even offered me an extra hot towel, and the young female staff at the checkout was friendly and engaging, making me feel welcomed and appreciated.

I went to try the popular pancakes featured on a TV show, which cost 500 yen. I was impressed by the company's efforts. The pancakes had a simple and classic feel, and the butter on top was a nice touch. They were fluffy and delicious. I hope they keep this menu item around for a long time.

I had a late breakfast and my stomach is full. I have an hour and a half until my next appointment, so I decided to have some coffee. I ended up at Royal Host, which brought back memories of my student days when I used to hang out at the Royal Host near my school, even though they didn't have a drink bar and the food was expensive. I thought I would just have coffee, but the pancakes looked delicious... I kept alternating between eating them plain and with syrup. It was so delicious, but now I'm so full I can't eat anymore. Thank you for the meal.

I had breakfast at Royal Host. I chose the store in the Mitsui Building in Nishi-Shinjuku, which is my favorite. There used to be a Royal Host in the building where Sizzler is now located. It was a legendary store with the highest sales volume as a family restaurant in Japan. However, it eventually became a gathering place for network business people, causing the store to deteriorate. After closing for a while, it reopened a few years later. The atmosphere is now more peaceful and cozy compared to the previous location on the upper floor. The staff are still elegant in serving the dishes. Despite initially resisting the idea, they now have a drink bar due to labor shortages. The coffee machine at the drink bar is of high quality, maintaining the Royal Host's essence. I enjoyed an omelette plate with a drink bar and additional morning salad for 1,089 yen. The toast was perfectly crispy and delicious. The omelette contained cheese, spinach, and tomato, accompanied by crispy bacon, sausages, and fried potatoes. The small dish with portion-packed ketchup is a typical feature of Royal Host. I decided not to use the ketchup and took it home with me. Overall, the breakfast experience at Royal Host was satisfying, reminiscent of the founder's dedication to providing a unique dining experience.

Morning. The British-style bread with creamy butter-like margarine is delicious. The scrambled eggs and hash browns are also perfectly seasoned, making it perfect for a morning when you want to relax and enjoy a tasty meal. It's not just about the food, the drink bar with coffee, orange juice, mint & lemon, etc. is also great.

I am at the Royal Host Shinjuku store. It's Sunday in the office district, so it's not crowded. I can have a wonderful Sunday here. The prices and menu options are the same as in Nishi-Fuku or Nakano. The drink bar is the same as Nakano, but unlike Nishi-Fuku, they have original cold drinks. The orange juice here tastes better. The drip coffee at Royal Host is delicious. The self-service machine at Denny's or Seven Eleven is good too, but I prefer the one here. I always order with French mustard. Thank you for the delicious morning. It's less crowded here compared to Komeda Coffee.

I visited RoyHos for the first time after seeing how cheap it was on Mametarou's blog. I arrived around 9:30 am on a weekday, and the spacious restaurant had only a few customers. Even an hour later, it didn't get crowded. Perhaps there are many breakfast options in Nishi-Shinjuku, with a Komeda Coffee nearby. Also, there is another RoyHos in the Mitsui Building next door, so this one might be a hidden gem. I checked the website and noticed a Morning Plate with a drink bar, but this particular branch didn't offer it. So, I ended up ordering the Morning Plate for 495 yen, Morning Salad for 110 yen, and the drink bar for 231 yen, totaling 826 yen (tax included). I chose the British-style bread over toast. For those unfamiliar with RoyHos, prices vary by branch, and this one is on the higher side. Some branches offer the Morning Plate for as low as 440 yen. While waiting for my food, I enjoyed the drink bar, which had a great selection, including the Tropical Iced Tea. The drinks were served in stylish pitchers, adding to the experience. The food was served in two parts, first the salad, then the Morning Plate. As I prioritize vegetables for my diet, I appreciated this order. The salad, despite being only 110 yen, had plenty of lettuce and dressing. I chose a sunny-side-up egg for the plate, but they forgot my request for it to be well-cooked, so it was runny. Nevertheless, the service and ambiance were excellent, and the quiet, relaxed atmosphere due to the lack of crowds was a plus. Although slightly pricier than fast-food breakfast options, I found the experience at this RoyHos to be worth the price. The restaurant on the ground floor offers a view of greenery outside, making it a pleasant place to dine. If I'm in the mood for a leisurely breakfast again, I would definitely consider coming back here.

I love chestnuts. I was craving for a parfait and wanted to eat one after a long time, but I couldn't go to places like Toranomon due to the hassle of going out during the pandemic. At such a time, I found out that Royal Host is offering a limited-time chestnut and roasted green tea parfait, and I found a store in my limited area! So I went to try it. The Mont Blanc chestnut and roasted green tea creme brulee parfait (1133 yen including tax) was really delicious! When it was brought to me, I thought it was surprisingly small, but when I ate it, it was a satisfying amount. Unlike many parfaits that rely on just ice cream, this one stands as a proper dessert!! So, there's no need to rush to eat it, which is also a good impression. It was nice that there were no cornflakes in it. The chestnut on top wasn't particularly delicious, but it was okay. The creme brulee was thick and had a wide crunchy part at the top, so you can enjoy the crunchy texture of the brulee all the way to the bottom. The fresh cream was not too much, and the combination of the chestnut's richness and the roasted green tea's fragrance was very good. There were chestnuts and pecan nuts about 1/5 from the top, and there were enough of them, so you can always enjoy a textured bite as you progress towards the bottom. It's fun to have the texture change with each bite as you eat the parfait. The red currant was tangy, so I prefer cassis, but it was well balanced, and this amount of parfait seems like it can be enjoyed by anyone without getting tired until the end. The roasted green tea jelly had a slightly subtle flavor, but considering how you feel in your stomach after eating it, this amount seems just right. I've talked a lot, but it's simply delicious! Well thought out! In short, it's delicious! However, I wouldn't go back for seconds. Chestnut parfaits are like eating kashiwa mochi on Children's Day, a seasonal classic, not a year-round staple. I look forward to trying the well-thought-out chestnut parfait next year. I also want to try the regular menu parfait at some point.

Dish → Hot Iron Plate Japanese-style Hamburger Lunch Price → 1,133 yen As the name suggests, it was piping hot lol. It's a bit more expensive compared to other family restaurants, but the volume of meat is amazing, and the onion soup was delicious. The grated daikon was also satisfying. Just wish it was 1,000 yen including tax - that would be great. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Royal Host because I heard their parfait is delicious. First, I had steak and beer. Honestly, I found the steak here more satisfying than the one at New York Grill. The kale salad was also delicious. When I ordered the parfait, the staff mentioned that it is a popular choice. They were very busy but still managed to serve it quickly. The parfait was amazing, with a hint of bitterness from the caramel at the bottom and a strawberry world on top. It was a sensory and visually pleasing experience. I felt the depth of sweetness in this parfait, even though I don't know much about desserts. I might gain weight from enjoying it so much.

I suddenly felt like eating pancakes. I decided to go to Royal Host for breakfast. The atmosphere of the restaurant, with glass windows reflecting the outside view, creates a unique mood. The seasonal changes in the view outside, from the bright summer to the lonely winter, add to the charm. I ordered the Omelette Morning set, which came with omelette, bacon, sausage, roasted potatoes, salad, onion gratin soup, and yogurt. I added pancakes instead of toast for an additional fee, and also opted for the drink bar. The food was satisfying, with the salad being fresh, the onion gratin soup rich and hearty, and the pancakes fluffy and generously topped with butter and maple syrup. The omelette was American-style, folded in half with plenty of ingredients like bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. The bacon was crispy, the sausage surprisingly tasty, and the overall meal left me feeling full and ready to start the day. It was a good morning.

The operating company of Royal Host has decided to close 70 stores, including Royal Host, citing a decrease in sales due to the coronavirus. However, they were already struggling with poor performance in many aspects of their business. Therefore, I think this decision was made as an opportunity to quickly restructure the business. They have stated that they will not lay off regular employees, so if the remaining Royal Host is revived as a service-oriented restaurant, fans will be delighted. The focus of the business will likely shift towards self-service and takeout, but I hope they will work hard to maintain the culture of Royal Host. I had lunch at Royal Host as I had some business to attend to in Nishi-Shinjuku. The menu still offers a wide variety of options, which made me wonder if they really need to continue offering labor-intensive dishes. The current selling point is Angus beef, with steaks and steak combinations being the main attractions. I chose the Angus beef and kale salad, along with the Kashmir curry. The beef curry was delicious with its spicy and fragrant flavors, and the Angus beef was cooked to perfection with a flavorful sauce. The kale in the steak salad provided a crunchy texture, and when paired with the curry, it created an exotic and satisfying combination. The steak was topped with sweet caramelized potatoes, adding to the overall flavor profile. If this curry is available for purchase, I looked into it and found out that it can be ordered online. Royal Host's excellent central kitchen production capabilities allow for such business models, which is impressive.

While in the hospital, I was granted permission to go out one night and was looking for a quiet place with a nice atmosphere at a nearby Western restaurant. I tried to go to two restaurants I wanted to visit, but they were both fully booked due to it being a Saturday. I was a bit worried, but then I remembered that Royal Host always has a calm atmosphere and delicious food, so I suggested it to my husband. He doesn't like family restaurants, but it was his first time at Royal Host. We ordered some fried appetizers, and my husband started with beer and then drank a whole bottle of wine by himself. I opted for the drink bar without alcohol. The variety of drinks at the drink bar was great and I enjoyed it. The "Black x Black Hamburger with Garlic Cream Sauce" made with domestic beef was delicious, as was the "Domestic Pork and Mushroom Porcini Cream Sauce." The fried appetizers were just okay, but the main dishes were surprisingly tasty for a family restaurant. Even my husband, who dislikes chain restaurants, was satisfied. When we looked at the bill, we realized Royal Host wasn't cheap! Despite being just the two of us at a family restaurant, the bill exceeded 8000 yen. However, thanks to a birthday coupon for a 20% discount, it came down to the 6000 yen range. The alcohol was expensive, but considering it was a normal restaurant, it would have been one and a half times more expensive. Thanks to the coupon, we were able to relax and enjoy our meal.

On 19.5.14, I visited a Royal Host located right above Shinjuku ReNY for a big live event with a lineup including WORLDENDLOVER and Moeco Gakuen! I finished work at 2:00 PM to make it in time for WORLDENDLOVER's performance at 4:15 PM. After their set, I had some food with my friends at the restaurant. I realized that Royal Host is a bit pricey compared to the usual family restaurants like Saizeriya or Gusto. I ordered the most affordable option, the Japanese-style hamburger for 880 yen, and added rice and a drink bar set for 480 yen, making a total of 1360 yen (excluding tax). The taste was typical of Royal Host quality, with grated daikon radish and shiso leaves adding a refreshing touch. I forgot to ask for a larger portion, which was free of charge. As we chatted, we almost missed Moeco Gakuen's performance, so we hurried to the hall upstairs. Thank you for the meal.

Family restaurants and chain stores that I don't really want to mention. One of the companies that created an industry where the restaurant industry was full of dreams. When my sister was in college, she was looking for a part-time job, but my dad rejected all of them. However, when he heard that a Royal Host was opening nearby and recruiting opening staff, he scolded my sister and told her to do her best to get hired. He said that company takes responsibility for developing people. The company that said goodbye and sent you off as a social worker a little earlier. It's nice that the spirit of the founding era is still alive. Even though there was a time when it became like a family restaurant and was in trouble, they managed to turn it around. If the founding spirit is still alive, then it's the real deal. Wonderful. I'll have the salad. The seasonal recommended jumbo mushroom salad. You can choose the dressing, which is now considered normal. However, you can only choose onion dressing here. It's not unkind, but the dressing is applied in the kitchen before serving. The vegetables are fresh and moist, and the style of serving is very restaurant-like. The sautéed mushrooms are well seasoned, and the roast potatoes and carrot rapé are quite delicious. You can feel like you're eating a meal! Then the steak. Royal Host has been known for its Black Angus for decades. I'll have the 200g ribeye, and the doneness is up to you. They cook it on a Mino-yaki ceramic plate instead of an iron plate, so it doesn't get overcooked. There are three types of sauces. Although the Japanese-style sauce is popular, the combination of demi-glace sauce and maitre d' butter is essential for Western-style steak. The steak is juicy and easy to cut. It has a clean red meat, cooked to medium-well. The texture is firm, and the juiciness and flavor of the meat are refreshing. Everything is top-notch. You can feel satisfied that you're eating meat. The side dishes are glazed carrots and mashed potatoes. Both are modest portions, but that's probably because you're also ordering salad and other dishes. The creamy texture of the mashed potatoes enhances the feeling of luxury. The meat is cut with little fat, and the fat is light. If you have a Japanese beef sirloin steak, you have to eat it without the fatty part, otherwise your mouth will be covered in fat. Japanese beef is delicious because of the fat... I understand that, but even if you're told that, you don't feel delicious eating it (laughs). So, meat with a slightly attached fat is really nice. You can eat everything. Not only can you eat it, but you don't feel heavy in your stomach. It's like feeling rejuvenated. And today, I only had salad and steak without rice. It's a wonderful and healthy thing. I eat with iced tea. A little shaved ice after the meal. It was an arrangement of "Koguma," a Kagoshima specialty named after the polar bear, with white condensed milk and brown milk tea flavors. I chose the condensed milk flavor. Then, Koguma-kun arrived. He looked a bit naughty. The cherry on the nose had a branch attached, giving him a mischievous look (laughs). I changed the direction of the red bean eyes, removed the cherry blossom branch, and adjusted the position of the crooked mouth of the orange to create a smiling bear. Despite that, I felt a sense of guilt when I put a spoon into the smiling bear. Maybe the mischievous bear's face softens the cruelty of eating... I thought. It's interesting.
