I received the Iwaokoshi from Meisendo. It is wrapped in traditional paper, which is nostalgic. When you peel it off, you find that the inside is laminated to prevent moisture. It is hard like a rock, but it slowly melts and becomes chewy in your mouth, revealing its deliciousness. It is large, so you can save half to share. Although it may be difficult to tell where to cut for sharing, there is a kind consideration with a cutting line provided. By pressing along the line, the hard Iwaokoshi magically splits in half, making it easier to eat. It is a delicious snack to enjoy with tea.

I visited the store in Umeda on a regular day. I bought Osaka Fromage Langue de Chat. As soon as I opened the bag, a cheesy aroma wafted out. It had a crispy texture and was delicious. Thank you for the meal! :)

"Tenko Okoshi" is a famous confectionery from Osaka that has been made since the Ho-reki era of the Edo period. It is made from glutinous rice and sesame seeds, hardened with sugar and starch syrup, and has a strong ginger flavor. It is quite hard, living up to its name "Iwa Okoshi."

It's a gift. I enjoyed a sweet treat in the morning of my day off. I thought it was a cake with lots of sweet bean paste inside, but the outer layer was unexpectedly chewy - like mochi. It was quite different from what I imagined. Interesting! It looks like a Western-style dessert, but it's actually called "Tengu Manju." I really want to visit this shop in person. Thank you for the delicious treat.

Strictly speaking, I receive a souvenir from Osaka once a month. When I searched for a shop, I couldn't believe it wasn't listed on Tabelog... The ginger-flavored bite-sized rice cakes (individually wrapped like candy) and the red demon mask illustrations wrapped in green packs, are quite delicious. They are not too hard and have a flavor that doesn't get boring. In July 2017, there was a chocolate-like flavored rice cake available. It's quite good. "Taiko Go-San-Kiri"

JR Osaka Station, Yodobashi Camera (North), Hankyu Umeda Station to Grand Front. Behind Wendy's First Kitchen Umeda Shibata-cho store, there is Umendo, a shop that sells traditional Japanese sweets and Osaka specialty snacks. Some of the sweets are discounted by 40%! They have a variety of products, so some may have a short shelf life. They sell delicious chestnut sweets called "Kuri Fukusa" which are perfect for company tea snacks. I remember this place for its great deals. I will definitely visit again.
