Wacoffee is a bakery known for their seasonal pastries that are always a hit with the locals. During autumn and winter, their popular menu items draw long lines even before opening. However, during the summer months, when interest in baked goods tends to wane, it becomes a hidden gem. Some of their signature treats include savory empanadas, Basque-style chocolate cake, and a cake with chocolate chips and crumble topping. Their caramel ice drink, especially the Masala Chai, is a favorite among customers. When dining in, you also get a complimentary serving of their delicious homemade caramel ice cream.

I received some treats from a relative before! I had been wanting to visit this place again, and today was the perfect timing. I planned to buy a return gift as well and was considering getting some takeout. I carefully examined the sweets in the showcase, starting with something to go with my tea. I definitely wanted to buy scones, and also some donuts and pain au chocolat. Next, I looked at cakes and tarts - Masaru is my recent favorite! I like the chocolate, lemon, and cheese flavors. I wanted to try a bit of everything, but couldn't decide, so I asked the friendly staff for recommendations. Finally, I paid and hurried back home. I quickly made some tea with Lupicia tea bags, and was excited to enjoy the scones and chocolate cake. I toasted the scones a bit in the toaster, and they turned out just right with the tea - delicious even with just vanilla flavor, but also great with butter and jam. Then I tried the chocolate cake, coated in a brown color, which was like a melting chocolate in my mouth. It was even more delicious than I had expected. The soft chocolate sponge and the chocolate cream were a perfect combination. Everything from the bread to the cakes was delicious, and I will definitely come back to this place next to the "Wa Coffee" shop. Highly recommended by MASA☆RU!

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday. I arrived 20 minutes before opening and was the first in line, but quickly became second as others lined up behind me. Normally, the restaurant opens at 12:15, but on this day it was delayed and opened at 12:35, resulting in a 40-minute wait to enter. Once inside, I placed my order and paid at the counter (cash only). For dine-in, I could choose any seat. The staff brought the ordered items to my table, and I could leave after finishing my meal. Just a tip, the restaurant gets busiest right after opening. Since there are only three tables for dine-in, I made sure to enter as soon as they opened. If dine-in is full, they may suggest takeout instead. Takeout customers have priority over dine-in, so dine-in service may be delayed until takeout orders are completed. In my case, due to a continuous flow of customers, I received my order one hour after being seated. If you want to avoid waiting, it's best to avoid the first hour after opening for takeout. For dine-in, you can either line up before opening to secure a seat or take a chance and drop by to see if there's an available seat. This time, I ordered a Cafe Latte HOT (495 yen) and a Hazelnut and Sweet Potato Tart (528 yen). When dining in, they serve a complimentary caramel ice cream. The tart was reheated before serving, so it was warm and delicious. It had a sweet potato flavor similar to roasted sweet potatoes. The crispy crust and tart base were also tasty. The rich flavor of the tart paired well with the refreshing ice cream. The desserts change daily, so the chestnut tart I wanted was not available, but the sweet potato tart was delightful. The customers seemed to be mostly local elderly people. Chilled products are only sold to customers who can return home within 30 minutes, so takeout is a good option if you live nearby. The owner, a kind lady, was managing the place alone and despite being busy, she provided attentive service. I waited 40 minutes to enter, then waited another hour inside, and the dining experience took about 20 minutes, making it a 2-hour visit in total.

On a Saturday afternoon after having an early lunch, feeling a bit peckish and craving something sweet, I headed to a bakery called "Wacoffee" located in a alley across from Sumiyoshi Shrine. "Wacoffee" specializes in baked goods that pair well with coffee and tea from North America and Europe. You can enjoy your treats inside the shop or take them to go. A few weeks ago, I tried their pastries for takeout and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious they were, so I decided to revisit. As I entered the shop, it was about 80% full with customers, and there were also some people getting items to go. The display case in front showcased a variety of baked goods, making it hard to decide what to choose. I decided to go with some of the pastries I enjoyed last time. I placed my drink order and waited at my seat, gazing at a fox statue in silence. After a while... I received my order: - Iced Coffee (400 yen): A fragrant and slightly bitter iced coffee that complemented the sweetness of the pastries. However, the eco-friendly paper straw kept sticking to my lips, which was a bit annoying. - Mango and Nectarine Tart (480 yen): A tart featuring sweet mango and tangy nectarine with a hint of spice crumble topping. Served with hojicha ice cream. The combination of flavors was harmonious and delicious. - Cinnamon Roll (250 yen): A cinnamon roll with lemon icing that paired well together. A delightful treat to enjoy. The lemon icing added a gentle sweetness to the crispy texture, while the cinnamon aroma was soft and inviting. I decided to ditch the paper straw and drink my coffee directly. I savored every bite and sip, enjoying the wonderful flavors. After indulging in these sweet treats, I bid farewell to the shop. Delicious foodie diary.

Today's dessert at Yaroku near Sumiyoshi Taisha was the strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake with vanilla ice cream. The almond croissant with almond cream filling was also delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. It was a generous portion, so sharing it was a good idea. The cappuccino and Earl Grey tea were also very soothing. #SweetsUncle #OsakaGourmet

As soon as I walked into the shop, there was a line of customers and the store was filled with delicious looking baked goods. Everything looked so tempting! I ended up buying a cute-sized raisin butter sandwich, apple pie, scones, carrot cake, and coconut cream cake. I enjoyed every single one of them, especially the butter sandwich with a hint of rum and the scones with jam. The carrot cake was a new experience for me, but I found the taste addictive. This area has many other well-established bakeries, so I definitely want to visit this shop again after lunch! ❤️

I visited Trico, a delicious bakery, for the first time last month. This time, I went with a friend I went with last month. We decided to do a café crawl, and both of our choices had W Coffee in them, so it was an easy decision. We met in front of the shop. My friend was already waiting there 10 minutes before opening. Another friend arrived just before the 12 o'clock opening. The small and cute shop had a narrow depth with two two-seater tables and a counter by the window. The cakes in the display case had completely changed since last time, and I was thrilled. The mouth-watering pastries caught my eye, especially the chestnut ones. I ordered: Chestnut and Coffee Tart (450 yen), Chestnut, Rum, and Whole Wheat Cake (400 yen), Hazelnut and Sweet Potato Tart (480 yen) with ice cream. I also got a takeout of Almond Croissant (230 yen). The croissant had almond cream and chocolate filling. The pastries were delicious, and the bread quality was outstanding. I wish the place gets more attention, but I also don't want it to get too crowded. It's a dilemma. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited a favorite sweets shop recommended by the owner, who praised it as delicious. It's about a 3-minute walk from Nankai Sumiyoshi Taisha Station. It's very close to Hankai Line's Sumiyoshi Station. Arriving 10 minutes before opening, I was the only one waiting. I took a little stroll around the area and when I returned, my friend had also arrived (we met in front of the shop). The shop is small and cute, with some depth to it. There are only 4 seats for eating in, possibly reduced due to COVID-19. It was a close call but we managed to get a seat. A lot of people came when they opened, but it was more relaxed afterwards. If you want to choose from the full lineup, it's recommended to come at opening time as the Kabocha Pumpkin Tart was already sold out. The showcase was filled with delicious baked goods, including bread and almond damand. I ordered: - Hazelnut and Kabocha Pumpkin Tart (460 yen) It was already sold out. It looked so delicious. The Kabocha Pumpkin custard was made from real pumpkin and the tart had two layers, crispy and delicious. - Blueberry and Rhubarb Spice Tart (450 yen) I couldn't really taste the spice, but the blueberry and rhubarb were cooked to a thick, sweet texture. Even the edge of the tart was delicious. - Pione + Shine Muscat + Yogurt Crumble Tart (450 yen) I couldn't really taste the yogurt, but the crumble and tart were both crispy. It had a faint grape aroma. The tart crust was just right, not too hard or too soft, easy to cut with a fork. I love it. - Almond Croissant I never expected to find this. The aroma of butter with the chewy and elastic croissant filled with almond cream. It was even better than a bakery. I want more of these. These sweets were so delicious that I regret not knowing about this place earlier. There are so many favorite shops around Hankai Line. This one suddenly became the top favorite. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

I was near Yaroku-san's place and had been curious about it for a while, but I never had the chance because of their closing days or hours. Today, I made it just in time before closing and decided to go in. It was such a cute little shop. When I asked if I could take photos, they kindly agreed with a lovely smile. It was a shame that they didn't have any cakes left since it was almost closing time. I bought a croissant, which my son loves. He really enjoyed it as it was very delicious. I would like to go back next time for tea.

After leaving the dandelion, I decided to stop by another café. It was a small café standing on a narrow backstreet, run by a female owner. The stylish wooden showcase displayed various baked goods such as scones, donuts, tarts, and croissants. I enjoyed a cappuccino and a delicious almond cake with chestnut and rum at the entrance counter seats. There were chic women's magazines on the shelf, which was a feast for the eyes and boosted my girl power (laughs). Relaxing and healing, just like the retro coffee shop I love, I also adore cute cafes.

The cakes and baked goods are delicious! The fact that there is an oven in the store makes it seem like they are made on-site. They have a nice selection of drinks like ginger ale and chai. The store is small but has a good selection of items. The drinks and pastries are large and filling. The only downside is that the store can get crowded. It seems like a popular spot for locals to get takeout. I feel lucky to have stumbled upon this wonderful store!

A cute Western-style confectionery shop in Sumiyoshi. The baked goods in the showcase look so delicious that I want to try them all. There is a nice window seat for eating in, with the sunlight coming in just right. I want to visit for cafe use rather than takeout. ^^

I used takeout. The lemon tart had a strong lemon acidity, but the balanced sweetness of the tart base and cream was really good! I also tried the scones, which were crumbly but not dry, with a nice flavor that I enjoyed. I should have bought one or two more. Maybe it's the taste of the wheat? Both had a very delicious pastry!

I have been to this place about three times. The baked goods are very delicious, and I remember being impressed the first time I went. The smell of butter is irresistible, and everything I tried was delicious. However, if you are thinking of going alone, be aware that you need to be with at least one other person to use the tables inside. I took a day off and went on a weekday, but they wouldn't let me use the tables inside unless there were two or more people, which made me sad... Since the sweets are delicious, it might be better to go for takeout.
