When I ordered, I was told that I could change the rice in the set meal to the sea urchin bowl, but I wanted to eat the Genghis Khan with white rice, so I asked for less rice. The Genghis Khan set meal is served with grilled meat because it's a lunch set. I have eaten Genghis Khan in Sapporo and Asahikawa before, and this one was also very delicious! The cost performance of the sea urchin bowl is amazing, and if you can eat something like this for 1500 yen, I would like to come back again! Next time, I think I'll go for the regular size instead of the mini one.

Hokkaido Wanderlust Trip 104 I visited Nakashibetsu town last week, but I regret not being able to eat during the Obon holiday. It's 87km one way from Lake Akan to Nakashibetsu. Should I go?! I called to confirm if there were sea urchins available, and they said they had some, but there was a possibility they might run out by lunchtime. So, I made a reservation for 5:00 pm. There is a super cheap business hotel in the center of Nakashibetsu where you can stay overnight with two meals included for ¥3900. I made a reservation for a room only for ¥3250. Now, all I can do is pray that there are still sea urchins left. I returned to Nakashibetsu, checked in, soaked in the Maruei Onsen, and headed to the restaurant. Luckily, they still had sea urchins! I ordered a large draft beer and a sea urchin bowl for ¥3000, and also ordered two servings of raw lamb shoulder loin with soramiso seasoning. Unfortunately, there were two disappointing things: the main meat trio that used to be ¥900 until July is now ¥1250, and the sea urchin in the photos I saw online was Ezobafun uni, but it turned out to be Murasaki uni. Today's sea urchin will be the last of the year, so I gratefully enjoyed it. The sea urchin from Rausu was fresh and creamy, generously served. The owner used to be a fisherman in Rausu, so the quality is guaranteed. The raw lamb was also of very high quality. I had the soramiso-seasoned shoulder loin as Genghis Khan style. The light sauce was very delicious, and I also appreciated the complimentary plum paste and grated autumn leaves. It's rare to find a place in Hokkaido where you can enjoy both sea urchin bowls and raw lamb Genghis Khan together, especially at such a reasonable price!

I visited the restaurant on a weekday after 6pm and there were no waiting customers. I tried various types of Genghis Khan dishes, and although it was delicious to cook them myself, the Genghis Khan donburi was especially tasty! I highly recommend the Yamaswabi Genghis Khan donburi and the extremely spicy Genghis Khan donburi, both of which had a perfect seasoning. If I have the chance, I would like to visit this restaurant again. However, the inside of the restaurant was very hot and the ventilation was not great, so I ended up sweating a lot while eating. I think it would be a good idea to bring a towel during the summer months.

But at the end, I could taste that familiar flavor just a little bit. If you come to Hokkaido and want to eat Genghis Khan, I recommend going to Sora-san.

Naka-shibetsu has a lot of delicious things. It is now priced at 3000 yen, which is a bit of a price increase. However, the taste is as reliable as ever. The salmon roe from Rausu has a moist texture, and the soy sauce seasoning is just right. If you go with a few people, they provide two shichirin grills, allowing you to enjoy both grilling and hot pot. The shoulder meat is a bit tough, but the shoulder loin is the best. The price is a bit higher at 900 yen per serving compared to other Genghis Khan restaurants in Obihiro. I decided to go eat Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) since I came all the way to Hokkaido. I searched the area on Tabelog and found 13 Genghis Khan specialty restaurants in Nakashibetsu, about a 30-minute drive from Shibetsu town. They offer both grilled on a net and Genghis Khan hot pot, both warmed over charcoal. The lamb meat here was incredibly delicious. I really enjoyed both options. The charcoal fire was warm and cozy. I ate to my heart's content. The uni and ikura rice bowl (large) for 2,600 yen that I ordered as a finale was amazing. The owner's family seems to be fishermen, which explains the quality of the seafood. Great experience!

A popular Genghis Khan restaurant in Eastern Hokkaido that uses Australian lamb meat. The Shiretoko salted Genghis Khan shoulder loin, Ezo Jikajingisukan, seasoned mutton and stamina set meal, tofu salad. It was very delicious and the service was good. My wife also seemed to really like it, so I definitely want to visit again. The prices are also reasonable.
