Gyoza no Ohsho Senrin-ten
Hiyashi Chuka
August 21, 2019
After indulging in Lion Curry Senrin-ten and Osaka Ohsho Senrin-ten, I made my way to Gyoza no Ohsho Senrin-ten located in Takii Nishimachi, Moriguchi City, Osaka. This restaurant is well-known as a branch of Kyoto Ohsho. I decided to try their cold noodles, adding a little twist to my dining experience. The restaurant was quite spacious, but the counter area was rather small, with only seating for about 6 people, which is quite unusual.
I ordered the Hiyashi Chuka for 734 yen. The presentation was nice, and the container was impressive. The sauce was mild in acidity and had a strong sweetness, with a refreshing aftertaste. The noodles were special and had a nice texture, complementing the sauce well. The topping of imitation crab sticks was unique and added a nice flavor to the dish. The roast pork was flavorful and added a good amount of volume to the dish.
Overall, I enjoyed the Hiyashi Chuka at Gyoza no Ohsho Senrin-ten, and compared to the cold noodles at Osaka Ohsho, I found this one to be more delicious. The difference in appearance between the two dishes was quite noticeable. Although I did not compare it to the "Gomoku Hiyashi Chuka" featured on Osaka Ohsho's official website, I personally preferred the version at Gyoza no Ohsho Senrin-ten.
After enjoying my meal, I experienced some cucumber burps, which was a bit unpleasant. I also visited Chanmio Special later on, but I won't go into details about that. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience, and I look forward to trying more dishes in the future.
