Checked into the hotel and met up with friends. Took a leisurely stroll around a nice shopping street. Took a break at this place along the way. My friends said it was cool today, but coming from Yamagata, it felt quite hot to me. Started with a lemon sour for hydration. Not a fan of fatty tuna, so we ordered two servings of lean tuna. The specialty store's tuna was delicious. The sweet and savory Yukke went well with the alcohol. For the second round, we tried the tuna-specific sake. It was also delicious. I'd like to try a rice bowl dish next time. Thank you for the meal.

If I had arrived a little earlier, I was considering visiting a nearby long-established diner, but time was running out and it became impossible to visit, so I decided to visit this place even at this time. It's a pretty compact shop. Even though they only serve tuna, the menu is quite extensive and I had a bit of trouble deciding, but I chose the tuna collar bowl. It was served in about 5-6 minutes. It looks so delicious. I ate it right away, and the melt-in-your-mouth texture was amazing. I finished it quickly. If I have the chance, I would love to visit again... It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Maguro Genkai for a solo lunch during my business trip in Fukuoka. The restaurant is located inside Yanagibashi Rengou Market, about a 6-minute walk from Watanabe-dori Station. Maguro Genkai specializes in tuna dishes, and you can enjoy a tuna bowl at a reasonable price even for dining in. I arrived around 12:05 PM and there were only 7-8 seats at the counter with no other customers. The table was equipped with soy sauce, chopsticks, spoons, small plates, and disinfectant alcohol. After being seated, cold tea was served. This time, I ordered the Special Tuna Bowl for 2,200 yen. I had just finished working out at the gym, so I planned to replenish with high-quality protein from tuna. A salad was served in about 5 minutes, followed by the Special Tuna Bowl and miso soup in less than 5 minutes. The salad was luxurious with a variety of vegetables and tuna. The container was a bit cheap-looking, which was a bit disappointing. The Special Tuna Bowl was filled with plenty of otoro, chutoro, and akami. The lighting didn't make for great photos, but for 2,200 yen, it felt like a great deal! It's a great place where you can enjoy a quick tuna bowl. Even the cheapest negitoro bowl costs 1,300 yen, so at Maguro Genkai, go for the Special Tuna Bowl!

This place specializes in serving only tuna, and every tuna here is truly delicious. Occasionally, they have tuna from Oma. They offer not only tuna bowls but also sashimi, and you can dine in or take out. They are open at night as well, so you can enjoy tuna sashimi or grilled tuna while drinking alcohol. Today, they have a special of a premium tuna bowl for 1300 yen. It includes medium fatty tuna and lean tuna arranged beautifully with a contrast of red and pink. It also comes with miso soup and salad, with the miso soup having a flavorful clam broth.

When I feel like eating delicious tuna, I will definitely visit this place. I stopped by on my way back from renewing my license at Sanseiruko. To celebrate upgrading to a Gold license, I decided to go for the most expensive seared fatty tuna bowl. I was torn between choosing the premium option, but on that day, I was drawn to the aroma of the seared tuna. I placed my order with the owner, who may look intimidating but has a warm smile. Before long, the seared fatty tuna arrived. I was instructed to mix soy sauce and wasabi in a separate dish and pour it over the bowl. I wasted no time in pouring the soy sauce over the tuna and rice, taking a bite. It was delicious! The fatty tuna had a slight chewiness, and as I chewed, the umami and fat burst in my mouth, with the seared aroma lingering in my nose. It was so tasty. The visual of the fat repelling the soy sauce also enhanced the flavor. Before I knew it, I had finished eating. Thank you for the meal. Payment was also accepted through PayPay.

I used to get takeout, but this time I decided to eat in the restaurant and ordered a tuna bowl. I arrived earlier than the usual dining time, but they kindly took my order. I asked about the difference between the premium and regular options, and it turns out the premium includes "otoro" (fatty tuna). I upgraded to the premium and added grated yam for an extra 100 yen. While waiting, I noticed many people coming in and out to buy tuna. It seemed like they were catching up with the owner. I heard the sound of yam being cut in the kitchen, indicating that they prepare the tuna and yam after receiving the order. Oh, there was a big chunk of wasabi on top. I should have asked for it to be left out. Do you usually pour soy sauce in a small dish or directly onto the bowl for this type of dish? I prefer the former. I tried eating without pouring soy sauce first... I wanted to experiment. The otoro was shining brightly, thickly sliced and oily. The grated yam was arranged beneath the tuna in thin strips. I started with the otoro, as you do. When I put it in my mouth, it was tender, melting smoothly and luxuriously. It was pure bliss. I also compared the lean tuna and medium fatty tuna. All three types of tuna were delicious.

In Yurakucho Union Market, there is a tuna specialty store where you can purchase high-quality tuna sashimi and also enjoy dining in with tuna bowls and sushi. I tried the premium tuna bowl for takeout, priced at 1650 yen. It consisted of fatty tuna, medium fatty tuna, and lean tuna served on warm rice with shiso leaves on top. The soy sauce provided was a sweet-style sashimi soy sauce from Kyushu. The tuna was cut into bite-sized pieces, making it easy to eat. The portion of rice was just right, suitable even for women. It was a delicious meal.

Limited to Saturdays, Tuna Rice at Yanagibashi "Genkai" On October 1, 2018 Theme: Fukuoka City Chuo Ward / Minami Yanagibashi Union Market. Located inside the market of Yanagibashi, there is a tuna restaurant called "Genkai". Of course, they have plenty of tuna sashimi, but next to that, they have a limited edition tuna rice available only on Saturdays... and it's only 200 yen per pack! Tax included! Tuna cooked with ginger on top of rice, all for 200 yen... that's amazing. Even without rice, it seems like it would go well with alcohol. There seems to be a lot of tourists as well, and there's a feeling that Yanagibashi on Saturdays is really coming back to life... ● Shop Information Genkai 092-791-2961 Fukuoka City Chuo Ward Haruyoshi 1-1-11

This year is the Year of the Water Rabbit! So, we decided to try a tuna dish that resembled a sea rabbit. The tuna was slightly overcooked due to thawing, but the fatty and sweet toro part was incredibly delicious. Overall, we were very satisfied.
