Curry Bread Specialty Shop - that's the catchphrase for "FAM" in Higashi Aikawa, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. I happened to see the new shop the day before and when I went in, the lady said, "We're having our grand opening tomorrow." She also told me that the opening time was 11:00, so I couldn't resist going. So, I arrived with determination at 10:12. Since the parking lot was small, I had to wait. (laughs) I ended up buying a snack at the convenience store in front for the first time in years. (laughs) Five minutes later, people started arriving one after another. Thirty minutes before opening, I couldn't wait any longer and lined up in front of the store. Soon, other cars started to arrive as well. (laughs) Ψ( ̄∇ ̄)Ψ There were four of us at the front, including me, and we exchanged information about the new Mapo Tofu restaurant, ramen shop, seafood bowl shop, etc., while waiting in the cold. A few minutes behind schedule, the store opened and the four of us at the front rushed in. Oh, just to be safe, the second person asked the staff if it was too crowded. I ordered the following: Sweet Curry Bread - 250 yen, Medium Spicy Curry Bread - 250 yen, Custard Cream Malasada - 200 yen, Chocolate Cream Malasada - 200 yen. I avoided the spicy one because it seemed quite strong. (laughs) ( ̄∇ ̄*)ゞ In the meantime, others were taking lots of photos. Everyone seemed to be thinking the same thing. (laughs) (laughs) d(⌒ー⌒)! After being the first to get my order, I confidently walked out to find a decent line had formed. People really are quick with information. I went home to enjoy my food. The Sweet Curry Bread had a good curry flavor, but almost zero spiciness, with the sweetness and umami of the ingredients standing out. The Medium Spicy one had a similar aroma and flavor, with a moderate spiciness, making it an easy-to-eat curry bread. After finishing my meal, I felt that I somehow preferred the aroma and umami of the Sweet Curry Bread. I ended up liking the non-spicy curry bread. (laughs) ( ̄∇ ̄*)ゞ Also, the bread was quite firm, making it a bit difficult to cut for a clean slice. Probably because they use quality ingredients. (I felt a sense of elegance in the overall taste.) At 250 yen for this size, it might be considered slightly expensive in Kurume. If customers are satisfied with the price, I believe this product has the potential to attract repeat customers and regulars. Thank you for the meal. m(__)m P.S. The Malasada... I mean, the Malasada was offered at the Buddhist altar and remains uneaten. (laughs) ( ̄∇ ̄*)ゞI received some criticism for yesterday's review, so I completely rewrote today's content. m(__)m
