Visited the creative skewer cutlet restaurant, Emitei, in Kaga-ya, Suminoe-ku, Osaka for the first time. Although there was a branch in Kitahama, it was my first time, so I made the trek to Suminoe, which is considered the main branch. The skewer course options were 10 skewers for 1,880 yen, 15 skewers for 2,700 yen, and 20 skewers for 3,640 yen. I decided to order 20 skewers, but in terms of quantity, 15 skewers would have been sufficient and additional orders would have been the right choice if needed. I was instructed to enjoy the skewers with five specified sauces, each with its own unique flavor. The batter had just the right coarseness and was to my liking in terms of taste, although it did leave me feeling a bit heavy in the stomach. The skewers were mostly intricate and well-crafted. When I inquired about the Kitahama branch, I was told that the prices were about double and the ingredients were slightly more high-end. The two branches are run by siblings, and there is no preference as to which one is better. The skewer dishes I had this time included shrimp-wrapped myoga, chicken thigh curry-flavored, okra topped with Nameko mushrooms, yuba with enoki mushrooms, half-cooked quail egg, hairtail topped with bonito flakes, buttered corn, marinated red snapper, shiitake mushrooms stuffed with meat, angel shrimp, grated nagaimo potato noodles as a chopstick rest, cream cheese with potato, conger eel with plum, lotus root with spicy cod roe and cheese, pork belly with mustard seeds, black wagyu lamb shank, Mongolian squid topped with nori seaweed, pork kimchi, octopus with daikon radish, and ice cream. Reservations are available by phone.

I am "Noronori" and I mainly go around eating lunch in Sakai. I think it was probably close to closing time, but they still welcomed me with a "please come in." Normally, this place requires reservations, but I was lucky this time. I asked for the chef's choice. I was tempted to take notes on what was being served, but I wanted to enjoy the experience without distractions. So, I didn't take any notes. Therefore, even if you look at the photos, you won't understand anything. Anyway, the food was delicious! They kept frying and I couldn't stop eating. I usually have a weak stomach when it comes to oil and fat, but I had no issues with the oil used here. I didn't even realize I was eating fried food! The oil must be high-quality and clean. It was really delicious. I want to go back again! Thank you for the meal.

I heard that there is a shop similar to a famous kushikatsu restaurant in Ashiya, so I went to check it out. It turned out to be an old-fashioned shop with a lot of creativity in their kushikatsu ✨ They have around 30 types of creative kushikatsu, all with a light and crispy coating. Each ingredient is prepared with care and creativity, surpassing the other shop in terms of innovation! They also offer several dessert kushikatsu, such as fried Abekawa mochi and fried Yukimi Daifuku, which are not only delicious but also visually appealing. They provide 5 types of dipping sauces and condiments, making it easy to choose which one to use with each kushikatsu. The bite-sized portions make it easy to keep eating one after another! And the prices are very affordable! They offer three omakase courses: ▶︎ 10 pieces for 1,880 yen ▶︎ 15 pieces for 2,700 yen ▶︎ 20 pieces for 3,460 yen. I was surprised by how affordable it was! I think it's a hidden gem that not many people know about.

I visited a creative deep-fried skewer restaurant called Bonbon in Kitakaga-ya, Asuwa, because I heard that they have a similar lightness in their batter. They offer about 30 types of skewers, from classic to seasonal ones. This time, I tried the chef's selection of 20 skewers and added a few more. The dipping sauces for the skewers include Worcestershire sauce, dashi soy sauce, mustard sauce, ponzu, and matcha salt, and they are placed in front of you as each skewer is served. The menu for the day included items such as yuba enoki, chicken curry-flavored, marinated red snapper, bacon-wrapped bean sprouts, and more. While not every skewer was exceptional, the scallop, pork kimchi, and sweet potato butter skewers were particularly delicious. Overall, it was a fun experience with a variety of creative skewers.

I recently visited a well-known gourmet restaurant in my local area of Konohana, which specializes in creative kushikatsu. The location is conveniently close to the Kita-Kagaya subway station. The restaurant has a retro, old-fashioned exterior and a cozy atmosphere inside. The menu offers courses as well as a la carte options, and I decided to go for the omakase kushikatsu course. There are three options: 10 skewers for 1880 yen, 15 skewers for 2700 yen, and 20 skewers for 3460 yen. Additionally, there is a set fee of 350 yen for 5 types of sauces and cabbage. The kushikatsu here has a light and fluffy texture, making it so delicious that you can keep eating endlessly. Therefore, I chose the 20-skewer course without hesitation this time. The menu included a variety of skewers such as winter melon, enoki and yuba roll, chicken thigh curry flavor, marinated red snapper, bacon-wrapped pea sprouts, half-boiled quail egg, etc. Each skewer is served with 5 types of condiments, making it easy to enjoy the flavors. I ended up eating almost 30 skewers due to additional orders. My top 3 favorites this time were the corn kushikatsu, sweet potato with butter, and ice cream daifuku. From classic kushikatsu to creatively crafted skewers, this restaurant is a paradise for kushikatsu lovers. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I heard that there is a delicious kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) restaurant in my local area of Suminoe, so I decided to check it out. It turns out that this restaurant has been featured on TV before. I was really hungry, so I ordered 20 skewers for 3,460 yen, which was a great deal! The skewers included classic kushikatsu as well as creative seasonal variations. Each skewer was bite-sized and easy to eat, and I had no problem finishing all 20. Some of the skewers that left a strong impression on me were the crispy bacon-wrapped mushroom, the crunchy and flavorful corn kushikatsu, and the refreshing yam noodle skewer. I couldn't help but order more as I enjoyed the food. Overall, I felt that this restaurant offered great value for the price. It was a delicious meal!

I often walk down this street, but I didn't know about this shop before. Inside, there is a cozy atmosphere with a counter and a small raised seating area. You can order individual items, but I recommend going for the course menu here. There are plates with condiments lined up, making it easy to know which condiment goes with which dish! When you need to squeeze lemon or keep something as it is, they provide a separate wooden plate. The creative skewers were all delicious. I will definitely visit again.

This is one of the shops I frequented the most when I lived in Osaka. It's located on the outskirts of Osaka city and serves delicious kushikatsu that allows double dipping. I've been to trendy kushikatsu places in Tokyo, but this place is still the best in terms of cost performance and taste. Their homemade pickled cucumbers are surprisingly delicious.

I visited after a long time. I thought it was a kind shop because they responded flexibly. I often get heartburn from fried food at other shops, but I have never had heartburn from the kushikatsu here. I will go again.

Actually, this restaurant is in my hometown of Amagasa, but I didn't know about it until I saw it on TV. My friend and I decided to visit without making a reservation (around 6:00 PM on a Sunday). There were only 4 other customers. We started with a drink - a highball from a certain company and beer - and then placed our order. We ordered the assorted 10-piece skewers for 1,880 yen (an additional 350 yen for 5 types of sauces and cabbage). The pork loin was juicy and delicious, no complaints there! The salmon roe was pleasantly popping, and I loved the corn. The enoki and yuba roll is a hit with the ladies. The soft-boiled quail egg was heavenly, and the shrimp was a classic favorite. There were other creative skewers that I tried hard to remember, but my forgetful old self couldn't recall. They were seriously delicious creations. The yam noodle salad was a refreshing finish. Surprisingly, a young and cute woman was doing the frying. Each skewer is meticulously prepared and absolutely delicious. Who would have thought such a delicious skewer restaurant would be in such a rundown area? (They also have a shop in Kitahama, I heard.) We added a banana ice cream skewer at the end for 180 yen, which was adorable! If you see it, you'll definitely want to go there. If you do want to go, let me know, just kidding! "It's a creative twist on traditional skewers, but the basic flavors are solid and delicious. This place is a definite repeat for its tasty skewers. Thank you for the meal."

I had been looking for a creative kushikatsu restaurant near my house for a long time, but every place I tried seemed mediocre, so I was about to give up. Then I stumbled upon this restaurant! I decided to give it a try and made a reservation. Luckily, the counter seats were high, which was perfect for my small children. I ordered the omakase set of 20 skewers. I don't like plum or shiso, so I asked the master to leave those out, and he kindly accommodated my request. The yam noodles that came out in the middle of the meal were delicious. I was very satisfied with the experience. I finally found a restaurant like this, and I will definitely visit again.

The shrimp dish, made with angel shrimp, is worth the effort as it offers a variety of flavors. The shrimp is prepared with the head on, making it enjoyable to eat the whole thing. The prices are reasonable, and you can choose the number of skewers you want. This time, it may have been a bit pricey... Maybe I drank too much.

I went to a tempura skewers restaurant in Suminoe-ku. There was no parking nearby, but if you go a little further west, there are plenty of coin parking lots. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from there, which is not too far. Inside the restaurant, there was a counter and tatami seating. There was a mama-san with heavy makeup and a master-like person. There was also a girl who seemed like a part-timer. The tempura skewers were bite-sized and easy to eat. There were many unique options, and it was fun to see them come out. The fried fish carpaccio was delicious. The cheese hamburger was tasty, and the classic asparagus and shiitake did not disappoint. I devoured the 20-skewer course. The grated yam somen for chopstick rest was also delicious. I found a restaurant I want to visit again.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy creative kushikatsu, and I've been curious about it for a while so I decided to have a light dinner here. There are two types of kushikatsu available - one where you can only dip the sauce once and another where you can enjoy various ingredients creatively prepared. This restaurant specializes in the latter. You can enjoy kushikatsu created by the owner, ranging from seasonal ingredients to classic options, at a reasonable price. I ordered the 10-piece course for 1,650 yen and informed them that I would order additional items based on my stomach's capacity. The drink menu is also extensive, offering beer, shochu, local sake, whiskey, brandy, and wine. The meal started with a mountain of cabbage and five types of sauce, signaling the beginning of the creative kushikatsu journey. Each kushikatsu is fried in batches of three and meant to be enjoyed with the specified sauce by the owner for the best flavor. The chicken thigh curry-flavored kushikatsu was rich in chicken flavor with a curry twist, and the crispy texture of the batter was excellent. The shiitake bacon with matcha salt had a crunchy bacon texture on top of the batter, and the shiitake's unique texture and flavor were gradually revealed with each bite. The Pacific saury and shiso roll with grated daikon ponzu was a delightful combination of fatty and sweet saury with the refreshing ponzu sauce. The potato cream cheese kushikatsu was fluffy and creamy, reminiscent of mashed potatoes, and incredibly delicious. The pork belly and shiso roll had a juicy and sweet pork flavor complemented by the refreshing shiso. The swordfish and mozzarella cheese roll had an Italian taste with garlic and tomato flavors, showcasing the owner's creativity. The beef loin with mustard-flavored sauce was remarkably tender and juicy, with a spicy mustard kick. The shrimp with lemon was succulent and flavorful, with a crispy texture and a delicious aroma. The shiitake stuffed with meat was a harmonious blend of shiitake's flavor and meat's richness. The course concluded with yam somen noodles served in a Japanese broth, offering a refreshing and comforting end to the meal. I then ordered a few additional items that caught my eye. The octopus and daikon skewer was lightly seasoned and enhanced by mayonnaise. The sweet potato with butter and sesame had a delightful nutty aroma and a velvety texture. The green pepper and dried young sardine tempura had a surprisingly crispy texture and a perfect balance of flavors. The banana ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream was a delightful combination of bitter chocolate and sweet cream, with the frozen banana center slowly melting in the mouth. The ice cream mochi had a soft mochi exterior filled with creamy ice cream, creating a delightful texture and flavor. Overall, the meal was a delightful experience, and I highly recommend trying the seasonal sherbet served at the end of the course.

My friend took me out to celebrate my birthday and brought me to this place! At first, I was a bit surprised that we were having kushikatsu to celebrate a birthday, but once we entered the restaurant, I understood why. It had a very elegant atmosphere. The restaurant was small, with only two tables and a counter with 10 seats, creating a cozy space. We decided to order the omakase course which included 20 kushikatsu for 2980 yen. I was a bit worried because I don't usually eat fried food, but when the kushikatsu arrived, I was impressed. The kushikatsu were bite-sized and easy to eat. The chef placed five different dipping sauces and condiments on the table, and each kushikatsu was served on a plate with the corresponding sauce or condiment. The kushikatsu mainly consisted of vegetables, mushrooms, and fish, making them very easy to enjoy. One kushikatsu that stood out to me was the enoki mushroom kushikatsu, which looked like scallops but turned out to be enoki mushrooms when I took a bite. There were also udon kushikatsu and tamago tofu kushikatsu, which were unique and delicious. The kushikatsu had a crispy coating that was not greasy at all, and the ingredients inside were juicy and flavorful. The kushikatsu paired perfectly with cold beer, and the restaurant also served cabbage with shredded shiso leaves as a side dish. The cabbage was a great accompaniment to the meal. Throughout the meal, I enjoyed changing the flavors with the different dipping sauces. The restaurant also served a refreshing dish of sweet potato noodles in a tangy sauce with wasabi as a palate cleanser. I was surprised that I could finish all 20 kushikatsu, and even managed to enjoy the dessert of ice cream without feeling too full. The next day, I didn't experience any stomach discomfort at all. My friend mentioned that the types of kushikatsu may vary depending on the season, so I look forward to visiting again in winter. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I moved to a place one station away from here. I was looking for a good restaurant, but there are few restaurants in this area that appear on Tabelog. I casually watched a TV show called "TV Bebop! High Heel" and there was a segment about a food battle that goes well with highballs. The winning restaurant is said to be near Kitakagaya Station. I searched for "Kitakagaya skewers" and found a place I wanted to go to. Recently, my wife's father visited us, so I thought of going to a nearby yakitori place, but it was closed on Sundays. So, I decided to try this place. We made a reservation and ordered a 10-skewer course. The skewers came with five different sauces and powders, and empty plates were provided to use the sauces. The corn skewer was surprisingly delicious, and the sweetness of the corn spread in my mouth. I couldn't remember all the skewers that came out, but they were all delicious. I don't know what they used, but it was tasty. It was my first time trying a course meal, and I thought it was good. I usually don't like course meals because they are more for the convenience of the restaurant, but here, it was fun to try recommended dishes. We quickly finished the 10 skewers and ordered an additional 5, then another 5. I wanted to try more, but I was worried about getting heartburn. However, there was no heartburn, and the bill for two people came out to be 10,000 yen. I thought it would be more expensive for this creative menu. I want this place to remain unknown, but I also don't want it to go out of business, so I'm sharing this review. It's not a place for drinking parties, but a place to enjoy food. I reported back to my wife, and the next day, my wife and her friend went there. It seems they enjoyed the food, and my reputation went up. The only downside is that they have few types of sake, but a wide selection of wine. I prefer sake with tasty dishes. The owner is kind and reliable, but the staff can be a bit unfriendly. They should serve the skewers to the customers. Google Maps shows the location behind the building, but it's actually along the main road. Is this Google's fault?

I have visited this restaurant several times. The fried items vary depending on the season, but the deliciousness remains the same (*^.^*) When you order a course, you get yam noodles as a palate cleanser. It's refreshing and nice... The skewers are bite-sized, so you can enjoy a variety of them, which is great (〃▽〃). It's also nice that they serve sherbet at the end. While premium skewers like Matsue are delicious, they are also expensive. There are also reasonably priced skewers that are delicious, so give them a try (*^ー^)ノ♪ Thank you for the meal.

I was surprised to be able to make my first post here. It's a bit surprising that such a good restaurant is not well known. This restaurant is very satisfying in terms of cost performance. When it comes to small skewer restaurants, places like Mostjo and Kushinobo are famous, but those two places are quite expensive. In comparison, this restaurant offers creative skewers at a reasonable price! And the taste is pretty good too. They also have clever menu items like yam somen, and their ochazuke is delicious as well. The atmosphere here is also enjoyable, so if you like that kind of thing, please give it a try. I think you will definitely be satisfied.

A few years ago, I visited this place several times! I still remember how delicious and impressive it was! ...So I was quite surprised to see only one review! Is it not well known? You must go, it's definitely worth it! I actually don't like kushikatsu, tempura, or fried foods! But at Warai Tei, I end up eating over 20 skewers! They have unique creative skewers, served with four different dipping sauces! Everything is stylish and before you know it, you'll be surprised at how many you've eaten! I'm going back after a long time!!
