Located in Nakamoto-cho, Tobata-ku, Kitakyushu City, "morisige" is an Italian restaurant that opened in the former location of Bistro OKAJI. The name "morisige" was inherited from the "Morisige Shoten" run by the owner's grandmother in Kanazawa. The lunch menu includes 3 types of pasta that change depending on the season and ingredients, as well as one meat dish. During this visit, the options were Salsiccia and Zucchini Cream Pasta, Neapolitan-style Genovese Pasta, Vongole and Scallop Pasta with Mackerel and Scallop Broth, and Pork Fillet Pizzaiole-style. Drinks available include orange juice, grapefruit juice, tea, coffee, and oolong tea. For an additional 300 yen, you can add a dessert (Panna Cotta with peach sauce). I ordered the Pork Fillet Pizzaiole-style for 1500 yen and chose iced coffee as my drink. The dish came with three appetizers: prosciutto and peach, garlic toast, and chicken. The Pork Fillet Pizzaiole-style featured tender pork with a refreshing tomato sauce and cheese, similar to pizza ingredients. It was delicious, although I wished it came with more than just one slice of bread. The appetizers were a nice addition. The iced coffee was easy to drink, with a light taste. This review is part of a short series exploring Italian restaurants in Kitakyushu, starting with the hidden gem "morisige" in Tobata-ku. Thank you for the meal.

A recently opened restaurant where the manager, who trained in Italy, runs the place alone. They are currently popular for their peach pasta during lunchtime and plan to offer dishes that match the season in the future. The prices are reasonable, but the quality of the food is exceptional, making it a great choice for those looking to indulge a little. Due to limited seating, it is recommended to make a reservation before visiting!

Chicken sauté (with mushroom duxelles sauce) for 1450 yen, and green vegetable and shiso genovese pasta for 1350 yen. Arrived at 12:10 and there were 3 female customers already seated, seeming like a three-generation group with a grandmother, mother, and daughter. I chose the chicken sauté, while my companion chose the genovese pasta. The appetizer arrived in 13 minutes, followed by the main dishes in 12 minutes. The chicken sauté was well-seasoned and the portion was generous, with easy-to-eat cut pieces. The duxelles sauce was thick and had a slightly tangy and complex flavor. It was my first time trying this kind of sauce outside of canapés. The genovese pasta was as expected, with a visual appearance typical of genovese sauce. It also had a tangy flavor. The vegetables included okra, zucchini, and other summer vegetables, with a nice shiso flavor. Although not cold, it gave off a refreshing vibe that matched the season. The master of the restaurant seemed quiet and sincere, at least on that day. Grazie per il tuo pasto!
