Connected directly to the Kintetsu Minami Osaka Line, Osaka Abenobashi Station, and very close to Tennoji Station on various lines. This tonkatsu restaurant is located on the B2F of the Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store, in the "Abeno Market Shokudo". I visited in the early evening after work. "Katsu Shokunin" is a top brand affiliated with the famous "Shinjuku Saboten", focusing on "masterful skills and sophisticated ingredients". While takeout tonkatsu and bento are the main offerings, there is a small eat-in space at the back with 6 counter seats and 2 table seats. Initially, the menu only featured various tonkatsu set meals, but later they added katsu-don and katsu curry, and recently even fried set meals have been added, expanding the menu. This time I tried the katsu curry. I chose the "Rosu Katsu Curry" (1,051 yen) from the two options of "Hire Katsu Curry" (991 yen) and "Rosu Katsu Curry", and paid the bill at the cashier first. Due to the layout of the shop, payment is required in advance to prevent dine-and-dash incidents. When ordering, the staff mentioned that the rice could be served in a large portion for free, but I opted for a regular portion. I asked if the cabbage could be served in a larger portion, which seemed to surprise the staff, so I declined the offer. The food arrived promptly. The katsu curry was served in an oval deep dish, with shredded cabbage and miso soup on the side. Fukujinzuke was served with the curry. I took a bite of the curry first... It had a typical European-style curry flavor with vegetables melted into the sauce, a mild tuning with a hint of sweetness and acidity. It felt like a curry sauce I had tasted somewhere before, probably a commercial curry sauce. The curry itself had a well-behaved flavor, lacking distinctive features. The only downside was that it was not warm enough, being rather lukewarm. The Rosu katsu was freshly fried, of course. It was a thick piece coated in coarse breadcrumbs, fried to a crispy finish. The strong bite was a sign of the thick meat. The cabbage served was to be drizzled with the "Saboten special yuzu dressing" available at the counter, which was incredibly delicious. The Fukujinzuke was not the red type, but it paired well with the curry. While the curry itself was not outstanding, the quality tonkatsu for just over a thousand yen makes it worth the value. This katsu curry is a dish where the tonkatsu, made by a tonkatsu restaurant, takes the spotlight.

I didn't climb up Abeno Harukas, but I did enter the Kintetsu Department Store. Since it's a department store, there are quite a few higher-end shops. I was a little hungry, so I got a second helping of tonkatsu, which made me happy. The taste was consistently delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Directly connected to the Kintetsu Minami Osaka Line, Osaka Abenobashi Station, and very close to Tennoji Station on various lines. In the basement of the Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store, there is a food court called "Abeno Market Dining" separate from the upper floor restaurant area. This dining area is very convenient, offering sushi, curry, rice bowls, Chinese porridge, champon, and more for a casual meal. What's more, it is open from 10 am to 10 pm, making it very convenient. I also frequently use this dining area. I stopped by this dining area to have a slightly late meal before heading to work. After some deliberation, I decided to dine at this tonkatsu restaurant. This "Katsusho" is a higher-end brand affiliated with the famous "Shinjuku Saboten," focusing on "the skills of a master and sophisticated ingredients." While takeout is the main focus, they also have a small seating area for dining in. The menu initially only consisted of various tonkatsu set meals, but recently they have introduced tonkatsu bowls with either loin or fillet, as well as katsu curry. This time, I chose the "Loin Katsu Bowl" (991 yen). I paid at the cashier first, and was told that I could have extra rice for free, but I opted for the regular portion. After a short wait, my meal was brought to me. On the tray, there was a bowl of loin katsu topped with egg, miso soup, and pickles. It was nice to see a spoon along with disposable chopsticks. The tonkatsu had a decent thickness, with a taste typical of pork. The breading was slightly thick, providing a crispy texture. The combination of tenderized onions and half-cooked egg was well-balanced. The sweet and savory sauce had a rich dashi flavor and was well-seasoned. The rice soaked in the sauce was delicious, but it was a bit too soupy, almost like ochazuke. It would have been nice to have some toppings like Mitsuba or green peas to enhance the presentation. However, the portion was more than I expected, and I left feeling satisfied. With miso soup included at this price, the cost performance is good. This is a great place for casual dining.

I visited Katsu-sho-san Tonkatsu no Kenkyu in the underground 2nd floor of Osaka Tennoji Harukas. I went for lunch on a holiday with a rating of 3.12 on Tabelog. The eat-in area on the 2nd floor is a bit clean and tidy with 6 counter seats and small two-person tables. I had the following dishes: Pork Chateaubriand set for 1,187 yen excluding tax, and the Rosukatsu Don for 900 yen excluding tax. Thank you very much! It was delicious!

Located on the B2F of the Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store Tower building, this restaurant used to be a tonkatsu place, possibly called Katsuki. Now part of the Saboten tonkatsu group, you can ring the bell at the register to place your order. The default lunch menu includes the Aged Three-Element Wheat Pork Loin Set for 990 yen. The cozy interior has a counter with 5 seats and 2 small tables. You'll find a large empty plastic cup at your seat, along with self-service items like water, spicy mustard, sauce, paper towels, and toothpicks. The tonkatsu, weighing around 120g, is served in a small mortar with sesame seeds for grinding. It's best to start grinding the sesame seeds while waiting for the tonkatsu to avoid it getting cold. The meal also includes shredded cabbage, carrots, cherry tomatoes, well-cooked miso soup with wakame and spiral wheat gluten, green onion rice, and white rice only.

The famous three-element pork cutlet, which can be enjoyed at a reasonable price, was worth trying! Although the cramped interior and prepayment were a bit of a surprise, the pork cutlet had a satisfying taste and was delicious. The Three-Element Pork Loin Cutlet Set costs 990 yen including tax. The pork cutlet had a nice thickness and a sweet taste. I tried both the rock salt and sesame sauce, but I personally preferred the sesame flavor. The set also included a mountain of cabbage, carrots, and cherry tomatoes, as well as rice and miso soup with seaweed. The shiny rice and light miso soup complemented the cutlet well. I was completely satisfied with the meal.

The "Abeno Market Dining" located on the second basement floor of "Abeno Harukas" is very convenient and useful due to its direct connection to the subway concourse and the option to have meals at 10 in the morning. A slightly large-scale renewal took place in this dining area, with 4 delicatessen and bento shops opening on April 21, 2021. One of the shops, "Katsu Takumi," offers a menu featuring high-quality pork cutlets, including the "Aged Sangen Mugi Pork Loin Cutlet Set" for 990 yen. The cashier system allows customers to pay in advance, and the food is served promptly. The hot pork cutlet is served with a mountain of cabbage, rice, pickles, miso soup, and a mortar with plenty of sesame seeds. The cutlet is surprisingly thick, crispy, and tender, with a light beige color indicating it is cooked just right. The original sauce from Shinjuku Saboten is available on the counter, and when mixed with sesame seeds, it enhances the flavor of the cutlet. The sauce is slightly spicy, complementing the sweet meat well. The yuzu dressing for the cabbage is refreshing, and even though I ordered a regular portion of rice, it was quite generous. Overall, the meal was satisfying for around 1,000 yen. Abeno is known for its tonkatsu, with KYK being a prominent player in the Kansai region. It will be interesting to see how this new contender from a national chain will fare in this competitive market.

The pork meat is slightly firm in texture with a whitish color. The main issue is with the sauce, which is too strong and overwhelming, making it not very enjoyable. Overall, the food is not bad, but the main selling point of this restaurant is its affordability.

This is a tonkatsu and bento shop. Since the food is cooked in the store, you might be able to get freshly fried food if you don't mind waiting a bit! Food: I had the One Coin Bento, which is a limited menu available from 10 am to 2 pm on weekdays. It includes: - Rice (with furikake and shiba-zuke) - Potato croquette (with sauce) - Fried chicken - Kinpira burdock - Boiled vegetables, etc. The portion size is on the smaller side. If you're looking for a hearty meal, you might want to add some additional tonkatsu or fried items. Each pack contains 744 calories. Thank you for the meal. Items purchased: One Coin Bento... ¥500 Plastic bag... ¥5 Total... ¥505 This article was originally posted on a blog. The original post can be found here: [link to the original post]. Overtime week. In our family, we divide the task of buying white rice and side dishes, and today I was in charge of the side dish procurement (*`・ω・)ゞ✨ I grabbed the Chicken Ume Shiso Roll here, which was the last one left, and also got a bite-sized Hire Katsu in a rush after playing the last two rounds (σ・∀・)σ✨ Fried food goes well with white rice ===========

Directly connected to Kintetsu Osaka Abenobashi Station, and very close to Tennoji Station on various lines. Located on the B2F of the Tower Building of Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store, you can enter Harukas from the underground concourse at Tennoji Station and take the escalator down to B2F, where you will find this katsu (deep-fried cutlet) shop. Recently, there was a somewhat large-scale renewal in the underground food section of Abeno Harukas, and just the other day (April 21, 2021), four deli and bento shops, including this one, opened alongside the grocery store Seijo Ishii. This "Katsu Takumi" is a top brand themed around "the skill and sophistication of a master", and it is actually a branch of the famous "Shinjuku Saboten". This is the first store to open in Kansai. On display are various types of katsu, including fillet and loin cutlets, as well as assorted bento boxes, katsu bowls, and katsu sandwiches. I purchased the "Aged Sangen Mugi Pork Top Loin Katsu Bowl (1,011 yen)". Taking it home and opening the lid, it was still slightly warm, so I decided to eat it as is without reheating it in the microwave. If you reheat it, it tends to become soggy. The rectangular bento box was filled with plenty of rice, topped with a tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette), and served with kinpira burdock root and shibazuke pickles. When I lifted a piece of katsu and looked at the cross-section, it was thicker than I expected, and cooked through perfectly. It had a firm texture and the meat was flavorful. The sauce was well-seasoned, emphasizing a sweet and savory taste. The amount of onions was not overwhelming, maintaining a crunchy texture. The sauce subtly seeped into the rice, which was nice. The portion was generous, and I ended up quite full. Although it is a bit pricey, it is definitely worth it. Next time, I would like to try the katsu sandwich.
