I had an appointment in Izumisano in the early afternoon, so I decided to stop by. At 11:30, the restaurant was already bustling. There are only two seats at the counter, so I was seated at a table partitioned with splash guards, sharing with another customer. I ordered the Tianjin rice for 650 yen. The sauce was a caramel color and slightly salty, with well-cooked eggs and finely chopped carrots and small shrimp. The simple soup was also delicious. The service was quick and the food was served promptly. There are several private rooms in the back, so I imagine it gets lively during normal times with Chinese drinking parties. I didn't take photos as I was sharing the table, but the view from the window of the "Limited Express Southern x Kitan Strait x Awaji Island" was nice. There are always beloved local gems in any place. Often, these kinds of shops are hard to find for outsiders and can only be discovered with the help of locals. Recently, I had some business in Osaka and decided to take a drive from my hotel for a change of scenery. A friend from Wakayama mentioned that there was a popular local Chinese restaurant on the way that was well-liked by locals and truck drivers. How exciting – a local Chinese restaurant, especially one favored by truck drivers, sounds great. Truck drivers travel all over Japan and often know about delicious, generous, and affordable places in various areas. My expectations were high. Hmm, this faded sign is intriguing. The exterior gives off a somewhat Western-style diner vibe. It was quite crowded, probably because it was lunchtime. Inside, there were five counter seats, five tables, and several tatami rooms in the back. There were two chefs in the kitchen and three waitresses bustling around efficiently. I ordered the "gomoku ramen + half fried rice" set this time. I ended up ordering ramen again... This gomoku ramen is not what I had imagined! The gomoku sauce and soup lacked thickness, and it felt more like putting yakisoba stir-fry on Chinese noodles (not in the Wakayama sense). The taste was good, but a bit on the bland side. The fried rice was not the moist type but the fluffy type, and it was simply delicious. Honestly, the taste was not particularly outstanding. They have a variety of a la carte and set menu options, and you can also get takeout, which is very convenient. One of my favorite set menus is the "Spring Roll Set Meal for 1100 yen." It includes spring rolls, pork and green pepper stir-fry, soup, and rice. The spring rolls are packed with filling, and I like to dip them in a mixture of mustard and soy sauce. The pork and green pepper stir-fry is generously portioned and goes really well with rice. I also tried the wonton noodles on another day, and they were delicious too. I enjoy the fact that they offer set menus for both lunch and dinner. It was really tasty! Thank you for the meal.

Today, we all went to play airsoft together! I made lunch boxes and onigiri in the morning, but forgot to bring tea, so off to Misaki Airsoft we went! We battled from 10am to 4:30pm, and afterwards... it's time to drink, right? So, we visited a place that is popular among airsoft players. We ordered a three-item platter (boneless chicken karaage, spring rolls, shrimp tempura) for 1,600 yen, and two orders of gyoza (8 pieces for 300 yen each) as snacks for the drinking team! The gyoza had a strong garlic flavor. The spring rolls in the platter were wrapped in egg skin. The non-alcohol drinkers in our group ordered fried rice for 550 yen, wonton for 480 yen, and ramen for 550 yen. Some of us also ordered large set meals, but even after that, some still felt hungry and kept ordering more fried rice. We ended up with a total of six fried rice dishes, even though we only ordered five. It was quite a scene! Overall, if you want a hearty meal, go for the set meals. If you want to drink, pair it with beer and order some side dishes! Personally, I think Misaki Airsoft was great, and this place is definitely the spot to go after playing airsoft!
