I was able to visit for the first time. It's a cafe located across from the post office at Awano Station on the Nankai Main Line. It feels like visiting your grandma's house with a Buddhist altar, tokonoma alcove, and a cozy atmosphere. They offer snacks, sweets, and specialty coffee at very reasonable prices. If you serve yourself, you can choose your own cup and have coffee for 250 yen. All-you-can-drink self-service is 590 yen, and if the owner makes you a specialty coffee, it's 400 yen, etc. The owner is friendly and the cafe even has a courtyard. It was a cafe I had never been to before.

When I went to play in the direction of the cape, I was taken there. It was a cafe that renovated an old-fashioned house. You can drink various types of coffee guided by hand. Inside the store, various hair accessories, cakes, and Japanese sweets made by various people were sold. I had pound cake and chiffon cake for tasting. It was very delicious with a homemade taste. I purchased cake products as souvenirs and returned home.

I'm sorry for posting this after a long time has passed. I don't remember the exact date of my visit... I stopped by on my way back from the outlet in Wakayama. The old building has been nicely renovated. Inside, there were many elementary school students! It felt like a school daycare. The coffee was delicious, brewed in a cup of your choice. On my way out, the owner asked if I lived nearby. When I said I was from Wakayama, he was very surprised, saying "Wakayama!? Do you know this place is just 20 minutes away from there?" Now they have moved to the cape area, so if you're going to buy something, you might want to go there.

On Saturdays, they offer a curry lunch that requires a reservation. The curry, made with a variety of spices, was sophisticated and delicious! Drizzling oil on top added a touch of style and enhanced the flavor. The rice was shiny and paired perfectly with the curry. I definitely want to eat this curry rice again. As a coffee shop, they offer a wide variety of coffee options that will satisfy you. The surprising part is the price! The curry rice and coffee set only cost 1000 yen! It's unbelievably cheap considering the effort put into it!

Inside the store... It's a normal spacious house. You can choose your cup for coffee, select the beans, and have them freshly ground for each cup by yourself. There are quite a few types of beans, around 15 varieties. The place was bustling with people of all ages and genders, probably because of the owner's friendly personality. Any coffee is 250 yen per cup. The cookies and cakes are not homemade, but seem to be made by social welfare workers.

On the way back from Sennan Satoumi Park, I found this place in front of Awano Post Office. The exterior of the store is somewhat plain. That's because it's a shop specializing in selling roasted coffee beans, where you can also drink coffee on the spot. It's mostly self-service, first you choose a cup from the display, then you pick from 19 types of coffee beans, and make your own coffee using the coffee maker. The machine is similar to the ones often seen in convenience stores these days, and it's easy to operate. It costs 250 yen per cup, so it's interesting to make two cups and compare the taste. They don't serve meals, but they have pastries and cookies, making it perfect for a break. The interior of the store is just like an old Japanese house, giving you a sense of visiting someone else's home, yet strangely calming.

Brewing delicious coffee is easy. Just use fresh beans, clean equipment, and brew at a consistent temperature. However, one of the things that can ruin the taste of coffee is defective beans. Broken or old beans can spoil the flavor. Most coffee shops sell beans that may contain these defects, which need to be handpicked and sorted, adding to the cost. Hiroshige Coffee Club handpicks their beans, yet their prices are still in the range of regular coffee shops. As a coffee lover, I appreciate being able to enjoy their coffee blends without worrying about the specifics of the beans. Personally, I love the red blend from Hiroshige Coffee Club.
