Today's car camping drive led us to stay in "Mombetsu City." After making various stops, we ended up traveling about 450km. We arrived safely, so it's time to grab some food. We decided to have dinner at the "Yotteke Marutomichi" restaurant. Upon entering, we found that there were 2 groups of 4 people waiting ahead of us. Well, it shouldn't be too long of a wait with just that many people, so we decided to wait. After waiting for just under 30 minutes, we were seated inside. We were guided to the counter seats. I checked the menu. Since we had come all the way to Mombetsu, I wanted to try some locally caught fresh fish. There were plenty of seafood options, but if it's Mombetsu, then scallops are a must. The scallop marinated rice bowl seemed tempting. As I was contemplating, my wife declared, "I'll have the sea urchin bowl!" Ah, I see, sea urchins are in season in Okhotsk at this time. It's priced at 3,000 yen, so I wonder how much sea urchin it comes with, but I think seasonal items are always good. In the end, I chose the seafood rice bowl for 2,200 yen. Oh, since we drove here, alcohol is still a no-go. The dishes arrived in about 15 minutes after ordering. A generous bowl of miso soup was included. The seafood rice bowl seemed quite voluminous, and the sea urchin bowl had a good amount of sea urchin for its price! Let's dig in! After eating the daikon radish and seaweed hidden under the seafood, I drizzled a little wasabi soy sauce. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that there was no tuna on the seafood rice bowl. But when I thought about it, since tuna cannot be caught in Okhotsk, it makes sense that it's not included in the local seafood rice bowl. All the seafood was very fresh and delicious, but what I thought was excellent was the button shrimp and salmon roe. And the amount of rice was more than I expected, and the rice itself was so delicious that it was irresistible. Although I could tell there were a lot of ingredients just by looking at it, I ended up feeling quite full. My wife also enjoyed her sea urchin bowl. I had a taste in between, and I think this was my first time trying Okhotsk sea urchin. It was very sweet and had high freshness. I could confirm that this was a very high-quality sea urchin. Honestly, considering the amount served, 3,000 yen is quite cheap! It was my first time visiting this restaurant, but it turned out to be a hit. I'm lucky to have found a cheap and delicious restaurant! Mombetsu City, you've got a winner! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal♪
