⚫ Doden stew: I added egg, boiled egg, and tofu as toppings. It looks rich in flavor, but surprisingly not too salty and delicious.
⚫ MISO potatoes: A dish with miso-marinated soft-boiled egg on top of potato salad. It was very flavorful and one of their specialties.
⚫ Salt-grilled chicken neck: Simple grilled chicken neck with lemon and green onions. A nice dish in between the miso dishes.
⚫ New TTKG: Tofu rice with miso-stewed tofu and egg. A mild and light dish, perfect for finishing the meal.
⚫ Grilled spring vegetables and lamb charcoal mapo tofu: A unique combination of lamb mapo tofu. The lamb flavor is complemented well by the miso.
⚫ Grilled miso: Miso on a spoon grilled with a burner. One was vegetable miso, and the other was wasabi miso. It changes seasonally, offering variety.
Before visiting, I imagined a strong-flavored izakaya due to it being a miso specialty restaurant, but the miso dishes were deliciously flavorful. They also offer a variety of non-miso dishes, making it enjoyable for everyone. The 2nd floor has a tatami room with sofas, creating a relaxing atmosphere. It is suitable for small or group gatherings.
If you are interested in delicious miso cuisine, be sure to check this place out! ✨

I went to TemaeMiso, a miso specialty store in Temma! They offer dishes with plenty of miso and a wide selection of sake to pair with. Here are some of the dishes I tried:
- Crispy bell peppers and meat miso mascarpone
- Cream cheese salt koji pickles with crackers
- Charcoal-fired hoikoro with seasonal vegetables and lamb
- TemaeMiso's cutlet
- Specialty dotenabe with radish, egg, and tofu toppings
- MISO potatoes
- Grilled miso
- Miso grilled rice ball
All the dishes were perfect with sake! Even my friend who doesn't like bell peppers was surprised by how delicious they were when paired with the meat miso mascarpone. The dotenabe and lamb stir-fry were my favorites! The miso used in each dish added a rich flavor without being overwhelming. The miso sour cocktail, red miso lager, and various types of sake were all fantastic choices to accompany the dishes. The miso sour cocktail was a favorite of mine, especially for its compatibility with miso dishes. The miso lager had a subtle miso flavor and was rich and delicious. The sake selection was also great, with options like Crystal Dragon, Kudoki Jozu, and Sanuki Cloudy. The Sanuki Cloudy with soda was a refreshing choice. I didn't know miso and sake could pair so well together, so it was a delightful discovery. A miso specialty store is rare, and it seems like a perfect spot for a second stop during a night out in Temma. I would love to visit again when exploring the area. Cheers!

JR Temma! Backstreet of Temma Lantern Street! Temae Miso❣️ Osaka, Osaka City, Kita-ku, Ikeda-cho 8-8 Temae(m)iso〜Temae Miso〜 @temae_mi_so. Found a new store at the entrance of the backstreet of Temma Lantern Street! The first floor has table and counter seats. Rare in Temma, there is a second floor where you can relax, and they also accommodate private reservations for large groups❣️ This restaurant mainly serves miso dishes... they completely exceeded my expectations in a good way with the familiar taste of miso that I have grown accustomed to in Japanese culture❤️ I was truly amazed by the dishes that brought out the best in miso. Since all the dishes were really delicious, I think there is no need to express my feelings❣️ I ordered ✔︎ Doteni (with all toppings) ✔︎ Grilled Miso ✔︎ Cream Cheese Salt Koji Pickles ✔︎ Crispy Peppers and Meat Miso Mascarpone ✔︎ Plum Crystal and Smashed Cucumber ✔︎ Seasonal Vegetables and Lamb Hoikoro ✔︎ Japan×Basque [Pil Pil] Japanese-style Ahihijo (*You must try this) ✔︎ Miso Grilled Rice Ball ✔︎ No.1 Stacked Hojicha Monaka Ice Cream. Each and every dish effectively showcased miso and had high-quality standards❣️ The clientele in Temma is getting younger, and I truly hope that more young people will come to appreciate the greatness of this restaurant❣️ There are still so many dishes I want to try❤️ I look forward to trying different dishes soon.

What I ate↓↓↓
Doteni (beef tendon stew) - ¥660
Toppings:
- Daikon (radish) - ¥220
- Simmered egg - ¥165
- Tofu - ¥165
Recommended menu featuring black wagyu beef simmered in red miso, white miso, and hatcho miso. The meat is incredibly tender and pairs perfectly with the radish. The three toppings soak up the flavors well, allowing you to fully enjoy the miso taste. A popular menu item that is truly outstanding!
Miso Pickle - ¥440
A dish that is easy to eat with a hint of sourness from the pickles and a subtle richness from the miso. Not suitable for those who prefer a strong sour taste. The crispy peppers and meat miso provide a nice texture.
Pepper and Meat Miso with Mascarpone - ¥495
The miso and mascarpone blend perfectly, creating a rich and creamy flavor with a crispy texture when eaten with peppers. Delicious!
Miso Potatoes - ¥495
Mix the half-cooked egg and nuts for a tasty dish that goes well with alcohol. The nuts add a nice touch, making it a great appetizer.
Ume (plum) Crystal and Smashed Cucumbers - ¥550
A refreshing and easy-to-eat dish that serves as a palate cleanser. Just the right amount of flavor to enjoy.
Grilled Miso - ¥495
A comparison between negi miso and wasabi miso. Perfect for snacking on while drinking. Personally, I prefer the wasabi miso for its spicy kick.
Miso Cutlet with Tartar Sauce - ¥715
Pork loin cooked at 61°C with a generous serving of homemade miso tartar sauce and plenty of Parmesan cheese on top. The pork loin is thick and moist due to the low-temperature cooking method, and the tartar sauce is delicious! I want the miso tartar sauce at home...
Grilled Seasonal Vegetables and Lamb - ¥770
The lamb is incredibly tender and satisfying to eat! I would love to have this dish as a set meal with rice. The flavor is rich and hearty!
Seseri (chicken neck meat) Grilled with Earl Grey Salt - ¥550
A unique salt with a hint of Earl Grey tea aroma. The seseri is tender, and the salt complements it well. Delicious!
Miso Sour - ¥605
A Salty Dog with a hint of yuzu! I was hesitant at first, but it was surprisingly delicious. The subtle yuzu flavor and the gentle touch of sansho pepper were great.
Red Miso Lager - ¥825
Rich and flavorful! (laughs)
Masahiro Okinawa Gin - ¥638
A unique flavor that may divide opinions. The base is awamori, so the alcohol content is high at 47%. The ingredients are of excellent quality. I love gin, and I really enjoyed this one.

I came across the concept of miso on some social media, so I decided to visit TemaeMiso in the central area of Temma. This restaurant is newly opened by someone from Orb. The place has terrace seating, a counter right as you enter, and tables and semi-private seating in the back. The menu is all about miso, with their specialty dish being miso simmered vegetables. Here are some items that caught my eye:
- Grilled miso
- Crispy bell peppers and meat miso mascarpone
- Doteni (simmered beef tendons and eggs)
- Smoked mackerel with miso oil and pickled radish
I started with the miso-pickled mountain burdock while sipping on the TemaeMiso Sour with a hint of sansho pepper. The grilled miso was a blend of green onion miso and wasabi stem miso, a unique combination. The crispy bell peppers with meat miso mascarpone added a creamy touch to the usual dish. The doteni was a generous portion of beef tendons simmered in a mix of red miso, white miso, and hatcho miso, simply irresistible! And the smoked mackerel with miso oil had a delightful taste. I want to try all the menu items and drown in the doteni!

The restaurant name "TemaeMiso" indicates that it specializes in miso dishes. Their specialty, "doteni" stew, along with other dishes like skewers, grilled vegetables, meat, and fish are prepared with a special touch of miso oil and miso dressing. Some recommended items include:
- Grilled Miso (450 yen): A comparison of two types of sweet and spicy grilled miso. It's a dish that makes you want to eat rice along with it.
- Doteni (small 400 yen, topped with boiled egg for 150 yen): A delicacy made with Japanese black wagyu beef simmered in red miso, white miso, and hatcho miso until tender. The boiled egg topping is perfectly cooked.
- Crispy bell peppers with meat miso mascarpone (450 yen): The meat miso mascarpone is delicious on its own! There are still many more dishes I want to try, so I held back a bit this time since I planned to visit another restaurant as well.

Include it in the Tenma Hashigo Sake option. You must try the Temaemiso Katsu! It's innovative, new, and delicious!

Not much waiting time. On this day, the appetizer was a slightly punchy squid tempura. And as always, can't go without the Temae Miso Sour & Doteni stew♪

The miso stew was delicious with just the right amount of flavor, and the meat was incredibly tender. Even though I usually don't like miso, I couldn't resist finishing every last drop of the broth! You're missing out on life if you don't try this! It goes perfectly with Japanese sake. The grilled vegetables were seasoned perfectly, bringing out the full flavor of the vegetables. The use of different types of salt shows the attention to detail. The crispy bell peppers and meat miso with mascarpone dish was a perfect match! I was surprised by the high quality of every dish. I wonder if they're making a profit with such quality! The Japanese sake is reasonably priced and pairs perfectly with the miso dishes. I couldn't finish all the food because I was so full, so I've decided that the next time I'm in Temma, I'll definitely come back to TemaeMiso! The presentation is stylish and perfect for a date night. I regret not taking a photo... haha.
