Due to various circumstances, I called right before the last order for lunch at 2 PM and was told that they were waiting for me to visit. I hurried and rushed into the restaurant. I had the San-dai tsukedon, and I especially liked the crunchy texture and rich flavor of the marinated scallops. Thank you for accommodating my request. It cost 1,850 yen.

Salmon rice bowl with pickled salmon roe, I hurried to eat this dish... The taste is amazing, and the cost performance is top-notch! However, I couldn't remember the order of the customers waiting in line, so I tried to let those who came after me go first, and even when seated, they didn't bring water. The efficiency was too slow... And to top it off, the staff at the checkout counter was unfriendly. It's a deduction for that... Well, it's just my personal impression, but I think this kind of traditional Japanese restaurant should have lively and energetic kitchen staff and waiters, so that customers feel good. Leaving the complaints aside, the taste of the rice bowl! No complaints! The taste of the ingredients is one level above what you can imagine! Especially eating white rice with salmon flakes is seriously amazing! I wonder if I'll choose this again next time I come, or try something different.

After playing at a fun aquarium like the one in Shibetsu that showcases salmon and trout, we were hungry for lunch. We debated between the original branch of Soba Fukuzumi and this place, and ended up choosing this one. Despite the upscale atmosphere, the food was reasonably priced. I had the salmon bowl, a popular dish here. The seared salmon was replaced with scallops, but it was very fresh and delicious. I was able to customize the flavors to my liking and was very satisfied. Plus, it was only 1500 yen. I thought this restaurant was a good value for the quality of food they offer.

Yesterday, I passed by a shop that caught my attention. Today, I went to the back of Lake Mashu Observatory in the morning (I was able to see Lake Mashu well. It seemed to have sunk in the sea of clouds in the morning). I tried to find Nakashibetsu milk in Nakashibetsu town but couldn't find it, so I headed to have lunch slightly disappointed. I arrived at the restaurant around 11 o'clock. When I entered the restaurant, the staff seemed busy and there were many people preparing meals in the hall, perhaps for a group. I managed to find an empty seat at the counter. The staff quickly informed me that they didn't have the "buri" (yellowtail) today, so the "sake donburi" would have scallops instead of yellowtail. I had actually studied this menu item beforehand. It's a bit disappointing that they didn't have yellowtail, but scallops are not bad either. So, I ordered that. It costs 1500 yen including tax. The dish was ready in less than 10 minutes after ordering. At this point, a group of customers also arrived, causing chaos in the restaurant. Ignoring that, I observed the bowl in front of me. It had a good amount of food, but the bowl was shallow! The amount of rice was quite small. Since the sauce was not poured, I made some wasabi soy sauce and added it before starting to eat! First, I checked the rice, which was delicious as expected. It was not vinegared rice and was cooled to the right temperature. The toppings were lightly seared, and while I usually don't prefer seared toppings, this searing method seemed nice. I tried the salmon first. It was delicious without a doubt. Then, I tried the scallops... also delicious! However, I thought it would have been better if they had upgraded the miso soup. The neighboring man seemed to enjoy the miso soup with baby scallops, so I thought it would have been a good choice. The bowl was shallow, and the amount of rice was clearly less compared to the toppings. It seemed like the portion of toppings was intended for a large serving of rice. I ended up leaving some of the rice as it ran out before finishing the toppings, and enjoyed the toppings alone before leaving the restaurant. Choosing this restaurant was the right decision.

Takeda is famous for its seafood. I ordered the most popular seafood rice bowl with tempura udon and buttered potatoes. There is plenty of parking next to the store. With a wide variety of menu options, it doesn't seem like you'll get tired of it even after multiple visits. For the soup with the seafood rice bowl, you can choose between miso soup with clam and scallop or clear soup. You can enjoy luxurious toppings like sea urchin, salmon roe, and crab. The tempura and buttered potato udon were delicious and the potatoes were soft and tasty!

Popular local cuisine restaurant along National Route 244 in Shibetsu Town. There is a spacious parking space next to the building. On the second day of our trip to the Okhotsk and Eastern Hokkaido regions, after touring the Notsuke Peninsula, it was just about lunchtime, so we decided to have lunch here. Although it was a bit late for lunch, the restaurant was full, so we waited in the car for about 30 minutes before being seated. The interior had a Japanese-style atmosphere with counter seats and table seats. Since it was during a holiday period, the menu options were limited, but Shibetsu is famous for "salmon," so my wife ordered the popular No. 1 menu item, the "Shibetsu Salmon Three-Generation Pickled Rice Bowl (1,850 yen)," while I ordered the regular "Tempura Bowl (1,100 yen)." Due to the crowded restaurant, it took more than 20 minutes for our dishes to be served. My wife's rice bowl was filled with salmon, pickled scallops, salmon roe, and salmon flakes, all specialty products of Shibetsu Town. Being the popular No. 1 menu item, it was delicious. My tempura bowl was also tasty, but I felt that dishes using "salmon" were more recommended at this restaurant. They apparently have a wider variety of menu options during regular business hours, so I would like to try their set meal dishes if I have the chance.

Did you know that salmon meat is not red meat, but actually white meat? I didn't know that either. This is in Hoppo, Hokkaido, a town known for salmon. During this season, salmon swim upstream in nearby rivers. I tried the restaurant's specialty dish called "Salmon Three-Generation Marinated Donburi." It had marinated salmon, salmon flakes, ikura (salmon roe), and scallops on top. Honestly, I devoured it quickly. I wish I had savored it more. When it's in a bowl, it's hard not to just gobble it up, right? Oh, by the way, the pink salmon sold at supermarkets is actually foreign-farmed. The type of salmon caught in Japan is called "white salmon." I wonder if pink salmon is red meat?

At the local cuisine restaurant "Takeda," you can enjoy the Shibetsu salmon three-generation marinated bowl. Salmon and salmon roe are marinated in a broth rich in bonito flakes, with a side of "salmon flakes" from Bunasalmon that swims up the Shibetsu River, creating a salmon feast in a bowl. #Shibetsu #ShibetsuTown #ShibetsuGourmet #Takeda #LocalCuisineTakeda #ShibetsuSalmonThreeGenerationMarinatedBowl #SalmonDelight

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while as I drove around this area. It is located in a very local area, so I thought it would be different from the "tourist destination" type of shops found throughout Hokkaido. However, when I visited around 12 o'clock, there was a large tour bus in the parking lot. I had a bad feeling, but luckily the bus passengers had just finished lunch. The restaurant was in a chaotic state as they cleaned up after the group. After waiting for a while, I finally sat down and chose the "Shibetsu salmon three-generation pickled rice bowl" from the menu photos. It cost 1850 yen. Seeing the large tour group, my hope of it being a local favorite spot disappeared, and unfortunately, that was the case. While 1850 yen isn't too expensive, there was no sense of value. Lately, salmon has been scarce, and salmon roe is expensive. So, it may be unavoidable. I was disappointed with the portion size. I hope that next year, the salmon fishing situation improves, and customers can enjoy a bowl packed full of salmon sashimi and salmon roe with happy faces.

I visited Takeda-san for lunch on the second day of my 2-night, 3-day trip to Eastern Hokkaido. Located in the salmon paradise of Shibetsu-cho, this restaurant offers a seafood rice bowl packed with local specialties. After a hearty breakfast at the Kin-ki-yu ryokan in Kawayu Onsen, I wasn't very hungry, but I had planned to eat at Takeda-san in case I needed a meal later in the day. The restaurant's location in Shibetsu-cho was convenient for our drive through Shiretoko and Rausu. We arrived around noon and were seated at a table in the cozy, traditional Japanese-style interior. I ordered the Shibetsu Salmon Three-Generation Pickled Rice Bowl, while my companions opted for the Salmon Mountain Pickled Tea Rice Bowl and the Pork Cutlet Bowl. The dishes were served promptly and we enjoyed the unique flavors of the salmon pickles and fresh seafood. The salmon pickles were a bit salty for my taste, but the scallop and salmon pickles were well-prepared. The salmon was flavorful but not as fatty as I had hoped. The highlight was the delicious salmon roe, which was perfectly seasoned. Overall, the meal was satisfying and reasonably priced, making Takeda-san a great choice for enjoying local seafood in Shibetsu-cho.

On the 3rd day of the car camping trip, May 3rd, in search of a Snuufkin-like adventure, the traveler arrived at a soba restaurant in Naka-Shibetsu, only to find out it was temporarily closed. Disappointed but resilient, they found another highly-rated restaurant nearby. They ordered the salmon bowl, which featured thick sashimi with a slight sear, and brimming with flavor. The recent climate change has shifted the fishing grounds, making Hokkaido a prime location for yellowtail, although lacking in fat content. However, the yellowtail from the Shiretoko area had a sharp red meat with just the right amount of fat, making it enjoyable. Topped with garlic and sesame onions, drizzled with sesame oil, and mixed with vinegar, the traveler found the dish satisfying for its price. After leaving the restaurant, they gazed at the Shiretoko mountain range from the Shibetsu port, contemplating a visit but deciding to head south to the next destination, the Notoro Peninsula.

I am in Shikabe and decided to have lunch. The soba shop was closed, so I went to a nearby restaurant. It seemed to specialize in local cuisine, but the menu was mainly seafood with set meals and rice bowls available. Following the recommendation of my companion who had been here before, I ordered the scallop curry. The seafood curry, filled with scallops, was served in about 5-6 minutes. It came on a traditional plate with a dark-colored curry and a generous portion. The ingredients included sliced scallops, shirako (milt), egg, and eggplant. Although the sliced scallops were different from what I had imagined, my companion explained that the curry roux is made from scratch at the restaurant. The spiciness was moderate with a good amount of flavor. The scallops were delicious as expected, and the sweetness of the shirako and egg complemented the spiciness of the curry. I rarely eat seafood curry, but I really enjoyed this one. I could even handle a larger portion. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I drove through the snow to visit a restaurant I had been curious about and tried their "Ikura Don" (salmon roe rice bowl) for 1980 yen. The entrance to the parking lot was a bit unclear, and my car made a scraping sound on a bump, but I tried to forget about it. Inside the restaurant, they checked my temperature and had hand sanitizer available. The Ikura Don was delicious, made with top-quality salmon roe from Shibetsu. However, at 1980 yen for lunch, it was a bit pricey for a company worker like me. I wish there was more salmon roe overflowing to justify the price. I was also tempted by the Uni Don (sea urchin rice bowl) for 3800 yen, but that was too expensive for me.

Driving from Lake Akan towards Nemuro in the eastern part of Hokkaido, when you reach the dull gray sea, you can faintly see the shadow of Kunashiri Island in front of you. The nearby yet distant Northern Territories exist there, but the reality of being out of reach is fleeting. Stopping at a seafood restaurant in the coastal town of Shibetsu, the parking lot was filled with cars even though there were no people on the streets at lunchtime, indicating its popularity. Without having to wait, I was quickly seated and ordered a salmon rice bowl. The half bowl was generously topped with locally caught amberjack and salmon seared to perfection. Intrigued by other tempting menu items, I also ordered the elusive sushi set for a taste comparison of salmon roe and cherry salmon. Unable to have local sake due to driving, I enjoyed the bowl with three types of condiments and garlic chips, feeling satisfied. The meal was a feast of local specialties, including salmon rice balls, seafood chawanmushi, salmon pickled in mountain vegetables, and sea urchin curry. If there is a next time, I would like to savor these dishes again with some sake.

This shop located along the national highway in Betsukai Town. The reason for visiting here is this! Ikura Curry. It's curry topped with salmon roe. And Salmon Fry! I decided to be a little adventurous and tried it. This curry is delicious in three ways. First, I eat it like a salmon roe bowl. Then, I eat just the curry. Finally, I eat the salmon roe and curry together. The taste exceeds imagination. If I'm nearby, I would definitely want to visit this shop again.

While in the Eastern Hokkaido for errands and sightseeing, I stopped by the Notsuke Peninsula from Nemuro on my way to Shiretoko. For lunch, I decided to try a place with a noticeable Edo period vibe. I thought it had a touristy atmosphere, but I figured I wouldn't know until I tried it, so I thought, "Why not give it a shot!" I was quite excited. The exterior, as well as the interior, had a sense of luxury compared to regular diners. The menu seemed slightly on the pricier side, excluding tax. My wife ordered the Shibetsu salmon three-generation marinated rice bowl for 1550 yen before tax, and I went for the tempura bowl for 900 yen before tax. The "Shibetsu salmon three-generation marinated rice bowl" looked a bit dull compared to the menu photo. I assumed maybe the photo was of the unmarinated version? Regardless, the taste was delicious. Considering the price, it might be appropriate. The tempura bowl was also quite tasty, but I felt like I wanted a bit more in terms of portion size. Overall, it seems like diners in regional cities tend to be on the pricier side. It's understandable considering the number of customers, but still worth noting.

You can eat local cuisine in a beautiful restaurant. It is said to be a town where salmon and scallops are caught. They produce salmon flakes made from bonito flakes. The lunch I had included salmon, salmon roe, scallops, and salmon flakes, which was delicious. However, the prices are quite high. It would be nice if you could eat for around 1500 yen. It is located between Kushiro and Rausu, so it is convenient as a stopping point during your trip. We received a welcoming smile.

A Japanese restaurant located along the national highway near the town hall of Shibetsu. You can see Kunashiri Island if the weather is clear. The exterior is Japanese-style and the interior has counter seats, table seats, and a raised tatami seating area. I ordered the "Salmon Rice Bowl" with a side of "Miso Soup with Scallop and Clam".
